I’m not sure what I expected from the title Mount M, but you only need to glance at the reel set to get an idea of what this game is all about. The reels are stuffed to the brim with rare species, and I suspect this particular group has been chosen because they can all be found somewhere on the continent of Antarctica. There are plenty of other online slots that use an ice world theme, but this one feels unique and different. Despite this, I only wish I knew exactly what the “M" in Mount M refers to!

Things begin to get a little bit … debatable once you get to the paytable, but I suspect this is just the result of a pay ways setup that can potentially expand up to a maximum of 8,192 pay ways. The top symbol – the mammoth – only returns 2x your stake for a full pay way of five-of-a-kind, after which you have the tiger at 1.5x, the woolly rhino(?) at 1x, the wolf at 0.8x, and the ostrich at 0.5x, These numbers just “feel” low to me, despite the fact the many symbols are stacked on the reels, and you can also win on a great deal of pay ways at once. I was hoping that the wilds or scatters would have some payout of their own to add to this section, but sadly that is not the case. The royal symbols all pay around 0.3x your bet or less for a full pay way of five-of-a-kind, so they can’t help make up the slack, unfortunately!

As for the bet selection, the demo version of Mount M allows you to choose your stakes between €0.10 per paid spin at the bottom and €100.00 at the top, but these numbers may not be directly adaptable to the real money casino versions of the game. €0.10 sure feels like a low minimum bet for such a large amount of pay ways, but I wouldn’t put it past Play’N’Go to have worked out a way to do this!

base game & Modifiers

We’ve talked a little about the base game already – it uses a 5x4 playfield with 1,024 pay ways, but this can expand during other modes so that the middle three reels will expand to eight high. It’s unusual for Play’N’Go not to include much in the way of base game features or modifiers, but that looks to be the case here – all of the feature goodness and RTP seem to be locked up in the main bonus round! Nevertheless, it seems worth talking about these bits here:

Three, Four, or Five bonus scatter symbols will award 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively, and you can also re-trigger the feature with 2, 3, 4, or 5 bonus scatters to win an additional 3, 5, 8, or ten spins for your remaining counter respectively.

As you might have gathered, there is quite a lot going on with this bonus round! In my opinion, it might even make up for the lack of base game features!
