A TNT “Tumble”, eh? That’s certainly one way of putting it. Ever seen a controlled demolition where they use this stuff to bring down buildings? It’s quite the sight, let me tell you… and that is about as close to a “tumble” you will ever get when using 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene. And no, I did not just give the specific chemical formula to make myself sound more intelligent, you huge meanie; it’s actually because the 2,4,6 part is vital to the way TNT Tumble Dream Drop online slot works, with the remaining parts being hidden amongst the game's reels and used to help collect progressively larger jackpots. Oh, and by the way, this Relax Gaming slot has four of these jackpots, a 94% RTP. and a maximum win of €/£/$ 1,000,000 (!).
The most striking feature of TNT Tumble Dream Drop is surely its reel set – at five wide and seven tall; you might think this game has a similarly huge number of ways as a Megaways slot or perhaps 100 pay lines… but no! In fact, TNT Tumble uses a new set of layout and payout mechanics that we couldn’t do justice to here – stick around for the full rundown later on. Aside from the progressive jackpot “Dream Drop” feature, there’s also a regular free spins bonus round with optional prize-boosting multipliers. TNT blocks can help expand the playfield – a feature you will find helpful as you begin to play TNT Tumble.
This is a deceptively simple game – the paytable makes it sound like there are just a handful of features to contend with, but there is plenty to see. I thoroughly recommend you do a little Relaxing with our free demo slot of TNT Tumble Dream, Drop.

What’s the theme of a game like this? They don’t like to make them easy to categorise these days, do they? I mean, it’s either fruit one day or an obscure mixture of pirates, aliens, and the nightclub from The Terminator the next. And where are all the movie license slots gone these days? Oh yeah… the movies got kind of terrible, didn’t they. Well, speaking of The Terminator, I heard that Arnold signed on for a Dark Fate sequel… surely not another Hollywood actor who has blown his way through his fortune and has to lower himself to making sequels to terrible remakes of chronologically confused sequels that even him and Linda Hamilton couldn’t resurrect? I mean, the Rev9 should have been the most devastating and dangerous Terminator villain of all time.
Sorry, but that movie thoroughly annoyed me, and besides, I’m trying to tell you about a game based on a grey wall with non-descript gemstones buried inside it. You’d have clicked off by now if I hadn’t begun to talk about something a tad more interesting… wouldn’t you? No? In that case, the light-coloured bricks have symbols on them… but the dark-coloured bricks hide hidden symbol positions that must be exploded or drilled out before they can be filled with winning combinations. Oh, and the wild is shaped like the cutting head too, you know… like for the drill? That we use for the TNT? Never mind, it’s not that it doesn’t make sense because there are blocks with STICKS of dynamite in them too! Fun fact of the day… dynamite isn’t made of TNT; it’s primarily made with nitroglycerin. Want me to go back to why the Rev9 was a criminally underused villain yet?
Halfway down the page, the game explains that any horizontal or vertical collection of adjacent symbols counts as a “win match”. Directly below this, three diagrams illustrate horizontal and vertical rows of three matching symbols in green – presumably signifying these as qualifying arrangements. The third diagram shows a 2x2 square in red, which I presume means it is a non-paying layout. I have some issues with this – what about a 2x3/3x2 block of symbols? I kept trying to his such a combination to see if I would be paid for one set of three, two sets of three, or a single set of six matching symbols, but I never managed it no matter how hard I tried. There is no reason this shouldn’t happen organically quite regularly, as far as I can see, but the rules are pretty lengthy and somewhat obtuse – strange for a Relax online slot, in my view.
The minimum price of entry in TNT Tumble Dream Drop is a low-roller-friendly €0.20 per spin, whilst the maximum is a spicy €100.00. Keep in mind, however, that as a progressive jackpot game, it is in your best interests to always bet as much as you can comfortably afford. The reason is that the lower your stake, the lower your chances of making it to the Dream Drop Jackpot Spin. If you are going to bet small, you have a meagre chance of making it to the progressive jackpot stage of the game and would probably be better off playing something else.
Wow, time sure flies when you're having fun, doesn’t it? I didn’t realise I had written so many words already, but there isn’t much to say on the base game part of TNT Tumble, so perhaps it’s a good thing I made up some ground early on?! When the game begins, the playfield is just 5x4 in size, with three dark-coloured rows at the bottom of the screen that needs to be unlocked before they can be used to create larger winning combinations.
The simplest contender is via simple winning combinations – a row of three matching symbols on the fourth row will immediately explode, taking out any adjacent darker coloured blocks simultaneously.
The exploding effect is amplified dramatically if any of the adjacent darker coloured blocks also happen to contain sticks of dynamite – or “TNT Blocks”, according to in-game parlance, as these will also take out the darker blocks to the left and right of the TNT block at the same time.
The final way is the most intuitive, perhaps… just drill your way down! Unfortunately, the wild drill symbol only appears on the top row during the base game, so you have to get it down to the bottom of the lighter-coloured blocks before it can even begin to work its magic.
It isn’t all bad news for the wild drill symbol. However, they are almost always generated in stacks and do not explode as all other symbols do when they form part of winning combinations. As such, once a drill bit gets going, it is regular to see it make its way to the bottom of the screen before being ultimately destroyed.
Finally, let’s talk about the all-important big-paying features of TNT Tumble Dream Drop – they’ve been well worth waiting for!
I mentioned earlier that there are four progressive jackpots in TNT Tumble, whilst you will see five listed below. Confused? I don’t think the last one on the list can qualify for progressive jackpot status, and I wish it hadn’t been included if I am honest. Nothing is worse than waiting forever to make it to the jackpot game and then hitting the lowest jackpot possible. A jackpot with stats as low as the “Rapid” in this game multiplies that disappointment by a factor of a thousand.
N.B. Unlike the remaining jackpots, the guarantee on this prize will increase in future before ultimately reaching a “must-pay-before” figure of €10,000,000
Winning the free spins in the TNT Tumble video slot requires you to clear all of the darker-coloured blocks from the screen. This can be quite a challenge, and with no bonus buy feature, it took me a significant length of time to try each of the three possible options just three times each to get the bare minimum sample size I considered necessary for this review.
Relax rarely let me down with their slots, and TNT Tumble Dream Drop is no exception. A great progressive jackpot game is a rare thing in today’s market. However, I probably wouldn’t have spent quite as long playing this one if it were not for the difficulty of reaching the free spin bonus feature – as a reviewer, I had to test all of the options at least a handful of times to be objective about their merits.
To be honest, I feel like it was something of a futile exercise – the results were pretty much exactly what I would have written if I had just taken a guess, except for that 7,000x+ hit in the high-volatility bonus round – I have a habit of hitting scandalous wins in free play this year though, so it wasn’t as surprising as it otherwise would have been!
Whether you are a fan of Relax’s slots or not, and whether you are a fan of progressive jackpot games or not, this is just one slot you have to try this year – huge payout potential, beautiful presentation, and a slew of unusual mechanics that make it a joy to play in a sea of uninspired online slots. I’ve said this once already this week, but it genuinely looks like the second half of 2022 will be a golden age of online slots.
