Based on the 2012 movie featuring Mark Wahlberg, Ted Megaways™ is played out on a movie set of sorts. This sees the reels set upon a background of the living room from the film. Various references and quotes from the big screen classic can be found throughout the game, and players familiar with the hit comedy will instantly recognise them.

The paytable sees the lower value of the symbols of the game made up of the royal cards 9 through to the ace. Pays awarded will approximately range from 0.1x, up to 1.5x when wins are formed through them. The cascading reels mechanic is now very wide spread across the Megaways™ niche, with a number of slot providers opting to include it into their games. For those who are unfamiliar with cascading reels / reel reactions, each time that winning combinations of symbols are formed, the symbols that are a part of that win will explode and be removed from the playfield. New symbols will then fall from above to replace them, with this feature only coming to an end when there are no further winning connections can be made.

Blueprint have used the mystery symbol in a number of past Megaways™ titles such as Temple of Treasure Megaways™ and it makes an appearance in Ted Megaways™ in both the base game and the free spin feature.

When triggered Ted will become active and fire his laser which can add up to 100 mystery symbols to the reels. These can then become a part of winning paylines and land in positions across the reels. Once the game reels have stopped, all of the mystery symbols that have landed in view will transform into the same randomly chosen symbol from the paytable. 

The highlight of Ted Megaways™ is of course the free spin bonus round. This is triggered through 4 or more of the scatter symbols landing anywhere in view. The more scatter symbols that you can trigger the bonus round with, the higher your minimum ways per spin meter will start at as the feature begins. 

There is however a gamble option for the free spins on Ted Megaways™, which we will now look at in further detail.

There are two parts to the free spin feature on Ted Megaways™ once it begins. Firstly you have your win multiplier that will begin with a value of x1. Each time that you achieve a successful win reaction on the reels this multiplier will increase by a further x1 in value, with no limit as to what it can reach.

The second part to the bonus is the minimum ways upgrade. If you collect 3 Ted symbols, that are present on the upper reel only, then Ted will appear with his laser gun and zap the minimum ways meter that is located to the left hand side of the reels. This will cause the meter to move up to the next level and will also award you with two additional free spins.
