Whether you’re new to the studio or looking to find out more information about the brand, our full Synot Games review will provide you with more insights into the company and the in-game mechanics and features they use, along with a collection of free slot demos from the developer you can play in practice mode.

History & Company Background

SYNOT Games is a European casino software provider that has enjoyed pretty quick growth, becoming not a household name but a well-known one in the iGaming industry. While SYNOT Games itself was established around 2016, they’re part of the SYNOT Group, and they’ve been active in the land-based gambling sector for over three decades.

The company was initially based in Slovakia, and from there, it expanded rapidly across Central and Eastern Europe. SYNOT’s early success was largely due to its ability to translate the appeal of traditional slot machines into compelling online games, and their games are, today, all developed in-house using HTML5 technology.

Within a couple of years after launching, in 2018, SYNOT Games had already secured multiple online gambling licenses and certifications, including those from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC), and other European markets. This allows them to distribute their games in multiple regulated markets, and it was around this time they started forming partnerships with some of the world’s largest online casino operators.

Synot Games Product Portfolio

In this section of our review, we will take a more detailed look at all of the gambling products you’ll encounter across the Synot Games portfolio.

Online Slot Games

SYNOT Games has released a hefty number of online slots, and while a lot of them are geared towards players wanting more simple, classic gameplay, they’ve started to innovate with some more modern mechanics, too, including Big Time Gaming’s Megaways! Below, we’ll look at five of their best-known releases:

Joker 40

Joker 40 is one of SYNOT Games’ most successful titles, and this comes despite it being a retro, class-inspired fruit-machine-style slot! Joker 40 is designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and you’ll find 40 fixed paylines in play at all times. The game’s symbols include fruits, sevens, and a Joker, the latter of which acts as a wild symbol, substituting for all other symbols to help you form winning combos.

The Joker symbol is more than just a wild, too. Landing 3, 4, or 5 of him anywhere in view triggers the free spins bonus, and this awards you with 10, 20, or 30 free spins, respectively. During the free spins bonus, there are no added modifiers or perks, but it is possible to re-trigger the feature to win additional spins.

Book of Secrets

Book of Secrets is… yep, you guessed it, a book of style game, and it’s themed in ancient Egypt. You may wonder why we’re featuring a game that’s been seen a thousand times before, but Book of Secrets is actually very well made and put together. In a familiar move, Book of Secrets is played on a five-reel, three-row layout, and there are ten fixed paylines in play at all times.

If you land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you’ll trigger Book of Secrets’ main free spins bonus, and this awards you with 10 free games. Before the free games begin, one symbol is randomly chosen to expand; any instances of this symbol, during the bonus, expand (provided there are a minimum or two or three in view.)

Owls of Wealth

Owls of Wealth is the third SYNOT Games slot we’re looking at today, and this game is designed around a five-reel, four-row layout. You’ll find 25 fixed paylines in play at all times, and the game’s main attraction is the upgrade mechanic.

Landing three or more bonus symbols anywhere in view triggers a re-spin round, and you begin with three initial re-spins. At the beginning of this bonus, one symbol is randomly chosen to become the “chosen” symbol. When the upgrade symbol lands in view, all symbols on the screen are transformed into the chosen symbol, and if you manage to land any new chosen symbols, it resets your re-spin count back to three!

Aqua Riches

Aqua Riches is an ocean-themed slot that’s designed around quite a unique 6-reel setup, with just… 5 paylines! Now, there are some quite unique bonuses and features to be found inside Aqua Riches, and visually, it’s a really impressive-looking game, too. The reels are filled with underwater treasure symbols, and wins are paid from left to right.

Now, Aqua Riches’ main feature comes from revealing hidden reel rewards. If 4, 5, or 6 consecutive reels (starting from the left) are completely filled with low-value symbols, you win a “loss” jackpot worth 25x, 50x, or 250x your bet! In other words, you want to see low-value symbols taking over the reels, as this allows you to hit these mini jackpots!

All Ways Queen Dice

All Ways Queen Dice is one of SYNOT’s Dice slots, and it’s designed around a 4-reel, 3-row layout with 54 ways to win. Now, interestingly, there are 27 ways to win that pay from left to right and 27 ways to win that pay from right to left.

If wild symbols land, they can expand and cover the entire middle reels, but only when they already form part of a win, which can be a bit of a pain. You’ll also find scatter symbols on the reels which, when landing, award a free spins bonus round, although there don’t appear to be any special perks in play during the bonus.

Jackpot Slots

SYNOT Games, as of now, does not offer a networked progressive jackpot system. They don’t even offer games with localised jackpots, so the only mention of jackpots you may see in their slots is the actual maximum win potential available. It’s unclear whether this will change in the future or not, but, as of now, SYNOT does not appear to offer a progressive jackpot roadmap.

Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games

While SYNOT Games’ product portfolio is primarily made up of video slots, they also offer games in some other categories, too. One of their most popular non-slot genres is their Dice Slots, which is a unique series of games that blends slot gameplay with dice-based elements. These games often function in much the same way that slots do, but they’re designed for players in markets where dice-based games are simply more popular.

While they’re not big on Crash games, SYNOT does have one in its portfolio, Fire Witch X, and this is a typical Crash-style game, where you make a bet on a multiplier and need to cash out before the game ‘crashes’.

Other than that, however, you won’t find any other forms of non-slot games from SYNOT. They don’t (currently) offer any traditional casino table games like roulette or blackjack, and it doesn’t look as though they plan to pivot to these types of games any time soon.

Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features

Throughout the following section, we’ll be looking in more detail at the in-game features and mechanics used in Synot slots and explaining to you how each of these works.

Paylines

Paylines are the predetermined lines across the reels that determine winning combinations in many video slots. A traditional slot might have 5, 10, or 20 paylines, while modern video slots can feature 50, 100, or even more! Now, when you’re playing a payline slot, to form a win, you need to land matching symbols on the reels, on top of these specific patterns, and in most games, you need to land these symbols from left to right.

Each payline has its own unique path, sometimes zigzagging across the reels. In some games (although especially older ones), players can sometimes choose how many paylines they want to play, while in modern video slots, games usually have a fixed number of active paylines. If the number of paylines is adjustable, the more paylines you play, the higher your total bet, although, of course, this also increases your chances of actually hitting wins in the first place!

Popular Payline Games From SYNOT Games:

  • Joker 40
  • Owls of Wealth
  • 40 Coins of Chance

Ways to Win

Ways-to-win is another popular slot mechanic that eliminates traditional paylines, instead awarding wins based on matching symbols landing on adjacent reels, usually from left to right. For example, a 243 ways-to-win slot calculates potential combinations based on symbol position rather than line patterns.

Essentially, as long as the same symbol appears in any position on three or more consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel, a win is formed, and this format became hugely popular in the late 2010s thanks to games from Microgaming like Immortal Romance and Dragonz. Today, some games can have as many as 1024 or 4096 ways to win!

Popular Ways to Win Games From SYNOT Games:

  • All Ways Queen Dice

Megaways

Megaways is a highly unique mechanic developed by Big Time Gaming that transforms traditional gameplay by offering a constantly changing number of symbols per reel on every spin. Rather than relying on fixed paylines or standard winning methods, Megaways employs a random reel modifier system that can generate hundreds of thousands of possible combinations; however, in most games, you will typically find up to 117,649 active ways to win.

Now, this is achieved by a varying number of symbols landing per reel. Each reel typically displays between 2 and 7 symbols, and this means that the game grid is dynamic and changes every time! Thanks to the success of the Megaways mechanic, Big Time Gaming (BTG) decided to begin licensing it out to game studios, and SYNOT is one of the latest to receive a license to use it within their slots!

Popular Megaways Games From SYNOT Games:

  • Aztec Jaguar Megaways: Hold and Win
  • Legends of the Colosseum Megaways

Synot Games Unique Mechanics

Dice Games

SYNOT’s dice games offer a fresh and entertaining twist on classic slot mechanics, and the game developer has, in our opinion, managed to combine the nostalgic feel of traditional dice games while including the modern, dynamic features of modern video slots. SYNOT’s dice games have done particularly well in the Central and Eastern European markets.

Each SYNOT dice game uses stylised dice symbols instead of typical fruit or themed icons. Players spin reels that resemble rolling dice, and payouts are awarded based on winning combinations, usually with wilds, scatters, and bonus features built in, too. Some of their popular dice games include Dicey Fruits, Respin Joker Dice, and Blazing Ice Dice, and while they may function like video slots in a lot of ways, they’re surprisingly unique and fun to play!

PEAK Gamification

PEAK is SYNOT Games’ flagship gamification engine, designed to “supercharge player engagement” and streamline promotional campaigns for operators. PEAK is designed to enable casinos to roll out a number of promotions, including Tournaments, Prize Drops, and Dream Dial, across multiple games. It supports most currencies, is available in most jurisdictions, and, SYNOT claims, takes minimal setup time.

At its core, PEAK brings together real-time tracking, eye-catching graphics, and integration with SYNOT’s portfolio to create competition-driven experiences. Operators can then receive automated progress updates on the campaign’s performance.

The perks for players are pretty decent, too. The Dream Dial, for example, offers instant rewards like cash, free spins, or even merchandise via a customisable Wheel of Fortune-style interface. And the Prize Drops can award random cash prizes or entry into bonus rounds, without players needing to change their betting behaviour or stake size!

Firebird 81 Slot

Demo & Review

#4 Firebird 81Synot Games

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.12% | Max Win: 200x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Firebird 81 is a simple game, but I have not seen many classic slots featuring such a high standard of presentation. It really looks the part, whether you play it on a desktop or your mobile device, so top marks to Synot Games for that. As for the gameplay, I prefer slots with a bonus game or two, but at the same time, I recognise there is still a big market for this type of game, and if you fall into that category, Firebird 81 is an excellent choice.

#3 All Ways QueenSynot Games

Slot Stats: RTP: 95.99% | Max Win: 252x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Not all online slots need to be packed with complex features to capture a player's attention, and Synot Games has proven this point and done an excellent job with All Ways Queen. This visually impressive slot delivers straightforward yet exciting gameplay, with the expanding wild feature adding just the right touch of fun and potential rewards.

Golden Egg of T Rex Slot

Demo & Review

#2 Golden Egg of T-RexSynot Games

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.05% | Max Win: 3125x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

The Golden Egg of T-Rex is another fabulous addition to the Synot portfolio and one I suggest you all check out. It features fantastic visuals, some exciting and lucrative features, and the theme, while not the most uncommon, is certainly more interesting than most.

7.3/10
Realm of Lions Slot

Demo & Review

#1 Realm of LionsSynot Games

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.12% | Max Win: 3000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

The theme of Realm of Lions may not be the most original, but Synot Games has executed it perfectly, making it an excellent addition to a crowded genre of slots. Does it have enough to stand out from the competition? I think it does. The graphics are very good, the Hold & Win bonus is entertaining, and whilst the max win could be better, I don't think there are many of us who would turn our noses up at a jackpot of 3,000x.

Commitment to Player Safety & Fairness

Licensing & Regulation

SYNOT Games is extensively licensed, and they’re regulated in a huge number of markets. The business itself is based in Malta, and their company number is C-89582, whilst the studio’s registered office is at Level 3 (Suite no. 2278), Tower Business Centre, Tower Street, Swatar, Birkirkara, Malta. Fittingly, SYNOT Games’ operations are regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority under the B2B Critical Supply Licence MGA/CRP/598/2018, and this was issued on the 16th of January 2019.

Additional licences held by Synot Games are:

  • UK Gambling Commission: Account number 54398.
  • Romania’s Oficiul Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN) under the Class a II-a nr. 1184/28.06.2021.
  • Sweden’s Spelinspektionen
  • Danish Gambling Authority under license number 24-440969
  • KansspelCommissie under the Class E licence nr. E 537327
  • Hellenic Gaming Commission under the licence no. HGC-000084-MN
  • The PERÚ Authority under the licence no. PSV0183

Fair Play & Security

Given the extensive licensing information that SYNOT Games provides on its website, we were somewhat surprised to find no information about the testing houses they use on their certification page. It’s highly likely they use a company like eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), BMM (BMM Testlabs), or GLI (Gaming Laboratories International), but they don’t explicitly say this anywhere on their site.

They do, however, offer a full list of countries that their games are certified for, and this includes Malta, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Belgium, Romania, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Latvia, Georgia, the UK, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina.

In the footer section of their site, SYNOT Games also reveals that they hold a ISO/IEC no.27001:2022 certification – which is impressive to see and definitely shows that they’re doing things well above board.

Partnerships & Collaborations

When it comes to partnerships and collaborations, you’ll be hard-pushed to find a studio better connected than SYNOT Games.

On the aggregator front, SYNOT Games has managed to partner with some of the biggest iGaming aggregators in the world, and this includes Games Global (formerly Microgaming) on their Quickfire platform, IGT, Playtech, Relax Gaming (on their SilverBullet platform), EGT Digital, GiG, Gamanza, and Greentube. In fact, they boast more than 30 of these partnerships with others, including GAN, esaGaming, DraftKings, Digitain, EveryMatrix, cbdata, Blue Ocean Gaming, BetConstruct, Anakatech Game Changer, InfinGame, Calimaco, Pariplay, DualSOFT, Tecnalis, Sportradar, Finnplay, and ProgressPlay.

At the bottom of their main homepage, SYNOT Games also has a section called “Where to Play Our Games”, and these appear to be operators and networks. For example, we saw Games Global here, which came as a surprise, as they were listed above, so we can only assume that they mean the sites Games Global owns, runs, or powers. At the time of writing, there are 125 names listed, so you will see some familiar ones, including Betsson Group, SkillOnNet, Bet365, Rootz, LeoVegas, SYNOTtip, and Casumo.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As part of the SYNOT corporate family, SYNOT Games participates in broader social responsibility efforts. Their parent company, for example, has engaged in various philanthropic activities, including supporting healthcare and community projects in the Czech Republic. While SYNOT Games themselves don’t appear to run any CSR initiatives, they do take responsible gambling seriously and build in a number of tools into their games to ensure that players have some safeguards in place.

Final Summary

SYNOT Games has become a fairly respected name in the iGaming world. Their creative designs and multiple themes have allowed their titles to appeal to pretty much all players across the spectrum. We like the fact that in addition to their online video slots, they’ve also started producing dice-based games, as not only does this show creativity, but it allows their titles to succeed in localised markets, particularly those in Eastern Europe.

On the other hand, however, SYNOT Games remains a relatively small player compared to other industry giants like Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, or Push Gaming. They focus almost entirely on online slots, which there’s nothing wrong with, of course, but their lack of other products may be holding them back in certain markets.

Overall, they’re a decent developer, and they have some solid releases under their belt, but, in our opinion, there’s more work to be done for the game developer to become a more prominent household name.
