Swintt Banner

Founded in 2019, Swintt is a relatively new iGaming software provider based in Malta. The studio has seen rapid growth and developed a reputation for producing high-quality slot games and very innovative engagement tools.

Since its founding, Swintt has concentrated on providing games with localised content tailored to specific markets, now reaching more than 100 titles. This is combined with the embedding of unique, advanced features, like built-in slots tournaments and “missions”.

You can learn more about the studio and its history with us, as in our Swintt review we will put the developer through its paces and check out their backstory and achievements and walk you through their in-game features and mechanics, along with giving you access to a free demo slot version of their current games list.

History & Company Background

Swintt was launched in April 2019 by a team of iGaming experts, and the team was led by the CEO, David Flynn. Flynn had previously held senior roles at other major iGaming studios like Microgaming and NYX (now Light & Wonder), and Swintt itself also forms part of the Glitnor Group, a large corporate company that owns brands including Lucky Casino and Gambola.

Since its inception, Swintt decided to “split” its brand into two core sections: SwinttGames, which focused on developing premium, modern video slots, and SwinttPlay, which focused on simpler, classic-style slots that are designed to appeal to those wanting a more classic, retro-inspired slots experience.

As mentioned earlier, Swintt also places a lot of energy in developing localised games, meaning they theme and style many of their slots to fit the market of the regions these games will be released in. In 2020, the game developer had secured a license from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), and further licences from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Sweden’s Spelinspektionen would follow.

They also launched SwinttLive, a mobile-first live dealer casino product, and this was a pretty bold move for a studio that had, until then, focused entirely on video slot production!

Highest RTP Swintt Slots

A key factor often overlooked by gamblers searching for new slot games to spin the reels on is the return to player percentage. You may have heard this term before, and it’s more commonly referred to as RTP, and it’s the value, given as a percentage, that you can expect to receive back from the game you are playing over a sustained period of time.

It’s important to point out that the RTP value you see attached to each game has been generated over billions of spins, but it’s still beneficial for you to play the games that offer the highest returns, as it will, at least theoretically, give you a longer playing time for your deposits, increasing your chances of hitting those potentially lucrative bonus features.

If you’d like to see the Swintt slots and casino games with the highest RTP, you can view them in our useful table below.

Swintt Product Portfolio

While Swintt has predominantly focused on video slots over the years, it has also branched out into the live casino sector. In this section we’ll look at all of the gambling products you can expect to encounter under the Swintt brand.

Online Slot Games

Swintt’s game catalogue focuses primarily on slots, and these are separated into two categories: SwinttGames (which are premium, modern video slots) and SwinttPlay (which are classic, retro-inspired games.) Below, we’re going to explore five of their most popular or notable slot releases:

Sinbad’s Odyssey (SwinttGames)

Sinbad’s Odyssey is a five-reel, three-row slot inspired, of course, by the classic tales of Sinbad! The game has ten fixed paylines and, like all SwinttGames slots, offers rich artwork and superb graphics; you’ll see ships, exotic birds, and mythical items in the background!

The game’s bonus round is a free spins feature, triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Doing so awards you with 10, 20, or a whopping 100 free games, respectively, and during the bonus round, more wilds appear on the reels, making it easier to land big wins! There’s also a gamble feature, which you can activate after any spin to enter a double-or-nothing round!

Heart of Earth Deluxe (SwinttPlay)

Heart of Earth Deluxe is a SwinttPlay game, and it’s a slightly refined upgrade of an earlier classic slot, Heart of Earth! The game uses a rural farm theme and is played on a five-reel, three-row layout with ten fixed paylines. It’s designed around a medium variance math model, too, so it’s suitable for players wanting something a little more laid back than what other Swintt titles have to offer.

There are a few different bonuses and features to look out for, and your goal, while playing, is to farm crops and try to uncover hidden treasures lost underground!

Landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the main free spins bonus, and here, while nothing overly special, more scatter symbols are added to the reels, making it somewhat easy to re-trigger the feature! The game also contains a gamble round, which allows you to try and double any winnings in a double-or-nothing card-guessing round.

Master of Books (SwinttGames)

Master of Books is a SwinttGames release that takes you into a mysterious library of alchemy and magic! It’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and there are ten fixed paylines in play at all times. The game features a number of theme-specific symbols like spell books, potions, and wizardry artefacts, and the wild symbol, the Master himself, is an expanding wild… Are you starting to see the game’s inspiration yet?

If you land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you’ll trigger the game’s main free spins bonus round, and this awards you with ten free spins, during which landing the Wizard symbol upgrades the current lowest-paid premium, so, yes, it’s an Eye of Horus clone, essentially.

However, there’s a bit more to Master of Books than just the expanding reels and upgrading symbols! There’s a unique “Collect Potions” mini-feature that can drop multipliers on the reels, and this adds more win potential than you may be used to seeing in Eye of Horus!

Legendary (SwinttGames)

Legendary is another SwinttGames release, and it’s a fantasy-themed game with a slightly more unique structure layout than the games we’ve looked at so far. Legendary is designed around a six-reel, four-row layout, and you’ll find a 1024-ways-to-win mechanic in play at all times. Legendary is highly volatile, and it offers a maximum win potential of up to 7,000x, which is one of the better Swintt releases!

Legendary’s main feature is a free spins bonus, and it’s triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Doing so awards 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively, and during this feature, bonus wild symbols are added to reels 2, 3, and 5.

Alm Gaudi (SwinttPlay)

Alm Gaudi is the fifth and final Swintt game we’re looking at today, and it’s a SwinttPlay production. The game uses a light-hearted Bavarian theme, and, if you didn’t know, Gaudi means fun in German. Alm Gaudi is played on a classic five-reel, three-row layout. There are ten fixed paylines in play at all times. The game uses a cool-looking cartoon style, and in the background, you’ll see men gathering flowers and farmers milking cows!

However, rather unusually for a Swintt slot, there’s no bonus round in Alm Gaudi. You won’t even find any wild symbols on the reels, and the game’s maximum win potential is capped at just 500x, so it really is a classic-inspired slot that’s designed to appeal to players wanting retro gameplay.

Jackpot Slots

Swintt’s slots generally focus on normal wins and bonus rounds rather than large network progressives. However, Swintt has introduced local jackpot mechanics in some titles, the best example being perhaps Orient Train. During the game’s Railroad Feature, one of three local jackpots, Mini, Major, or Maxi, can be awarded, but these are not progressives, and the size of the jackpots doesn’t increase with other players’ play.

Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games

As of now, Swintt’s offering is exclusively slot-related. The game developer doesn’t currently provide any random number generator-based table games like video poker, roulette, or blackjack, and this is something that was to be expected: from the company’s foundation, their focus was entirely on developing online slots.

While this did change slightly when SwinttLive was launched, it appears that the software provider doesn’t yet desire to create virtual RNG-based casino table games.

SwinttLive – Live Casino Games

SwinttLive is Swintt’s live dealer casino product, and it was first launched back in 2020, just one year after the provider first opened its doors! Now, it gets a little confusing in how their live casino product works, as it’s powered and operated by a company called Playgon. Essentially, Swintt has formed an exclusive partnership with Playgon, where Swintt delivers the branding, licensing, distribution, and brand recognition, while Playgon offers the actual games, studios, and streaming capabilities.

Their game range, as of now, isn’t that big, but they offer a few core titles like Baccarat, European roulette, American roulette, and Tiger Bonus Baccarat, and the game developer promises that “new games will be added to the collection soon.” Their live dealer casino product is actually quite good, and all games offer a large HD video and multi-table user interfaces. Detailed game history and statistics are available, too, with our only real complaint being the relatively small number of casinos that currently offer these live dealer games.

Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features

This next part of our review on Swintt sees us explore the different types of in-game features and mechanics that can be found within their slots. We’ll walk you through each style that has been used from the studio and explain how they work.

Paylines

Paylines are the “core” mechanic in most slot games, and these lines define how winning combinations are formed. They are, essentially, predetermined patterns across the reels, and symbols need to land on these patterns in order for a win to be formed. Historically, slots had a single horizontal payline across the middle. Today, video slots can feature anything from a few to hundreds of paylines, running horizontally, diagonally, or in complex zigzag patterns!

Popular Payline Games From Swintt:

  • Heart of Earth
  • Master of Books
  • Orient Train

Ways to Win

Ways-to-win slots have become increasingly popular in recent years, and these games do away with traditional paylines. Instead, they use a more dynamic winning system where wins occur when identical symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel regardless of their vertical position.

A common ways-to-win slot configuration is five reels and three rows. This means there are 3x3x3x3x3 ways in total, which equates to 243 ways to win. Some games use larger layouts, too, and you can even find 1,024 or even 4,096 ways-to-win games!

Popular Ways to Win Games From Swintt:

  • Legendary
  • Dynamite Boost
  • Cash Joker

Cluster Pays

Cluster pays is a mechanic where wins are formed by groups of adjacent symbols, usually horizontally or vertically, rather than traditional lines or reel-based ways. Swintt has started to explore this new style fairly recently, and in most cluster pays slots, when wins are formed, the symbols involved in the wins disappear from the reels, allowing new ones to drop down and take their place. Most cluster pays games are also played on larger grids, typically at least 5×5 in size.

Popular Cluster Pays Games From Swintt:

  • Candy Gold
  • Electric Elements

Bonus Buy

Almost every game provider in the modern iGaming industry incorporates the bonus buy option into some or all of their games, and Swintt is no exception. Although the fixed amount to buy the feature can vary from game to game, typically, you can expect to pay around 100x the current bet.

Swintt Unique Mechanics

SwinttGamify

Perhaps Swintt’s signature innovation is its built-in gamification suite, branded as SwinttGamify. This system integrates tournaments, achievements, leaderboards and missions directly into the games without the operators (online casinos) having to do anything manually.

The point of this gamification system is, of course, to retain players, but it has some pretty solid benefits for those playing, too. Players can, for example, race to achieve in-game goals, like collecting a certain number of symbols or hitting a large win, and upon earning enough points or completing certain challenges, bonuses, like instant entry into a game’s free spins bonus, can be awarded to players.

Our Conclusion:

I had to do a double-take of the game provider once I loaded up Toutatis and had a few spins, as the sounds were the same as those made on Novomatic slots. However, it was indeed a Swintt release, and to be honest with you, I had no idea what to expect when the free spins feature was triggered, so I eagerly waited for the scatters to land before everything was revealed.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be yet another variation of the fishing-theme collector mechanics, as seen in numerous Fishin Frenzy and Big Bass slots, so if those games float your boat, you'll be keen to get stuck into Swintt's Toutatis. For those tired of this overused engine, you'll want to conjure up a disappearing act and leave this title well alone.

Commitment to Player Safety & Fairness

Licensing & Regulation

Swintt operates in a number of the world’s most highly regulated iGaming markets, and, as a result, they hold licenses in many of these jurisdictions. Currently, they hold a total of three.

  • Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) a B2B-critical supply license, under the number MGA/B2B/745/2019.

Swintt also lists on their website a Swedish license from Spelinspektionen. However, following the link took us to Spelinspektionen’s homepage, and they don’t currently offer an up-to-date list of license holders, so we were unable to verify this ourselves. However, Swintt is a highly reputable iGaming studio, and it’s highly unlikely they’d list a Spelinspektionen license if they didn’t hold one.

Fair Play & Security

All Swintt games use certified random number generators that are audited by independent testing labs. These testing houses ensure the integrity of their games, making sure that players aren’t being cheated, and they also give them the green light for being offered in certain regions where certification is required.

Unfortunately, Swintt does not mention who they use to test their games on its website. Although this downgrades them a point in our transparency section, we can confirm they do use testing houses, as without them, they would not be able to acquire the necessary licenses to operate.

Partnerships & Collaborations

Swintt has been very active on the partnership and collaboration front, and as a member of the Glitnor Group, they benefit from the backing of a very large iGaming group. Their parent company, for example, ensures they have steady finances and access to a vast network of iGaming professionals. They’re also able to help with licensing and distribution of Swintt’s games in a number of regulated markets.

In the last few years, the game developer launched SwinttStudios. This has led to collaborations with other game studios, like in 2024, when they partnered with Twin Win Games, a Northern Irish developer. Through this deal, Swintt committed to publishing and distributing Twin Win’s slots via SwinttStudios, including exclusive launches of titles like Cheshire’s Luck.

Another notable moment in the studio’s history occurred in early 2024, when Swintt acquired Elysium Studios, a small independent slot developer. This move gave Swintt instant access to Elysium’s game portfolio and talent pool, and, as a result, all of Elysium’s upcoming releases will be co-branded under Swintt, usually labelled in their games as Elysium Studios Driven by Swintt.

As for aggregator platforms, Swintt has partnered with quite a few companies. Swintt’s slots, for example, are available on the 1×2 Network and SoftGamings aggregator platforms, and this means that online casinos around the world can offer the provider’s games through a single API integration.

Finally, for its live games, Swintt partnered with Playgon. This partnership allows them to stream live baccarat and other table games. Playgon handles the studio infrastructure and dealer interface, while Swintt provides the branding, custom UI and market distribution.

Final Summary

Swintt may be a relative newcomer to the iGaming scene, but their fairly rapid success is no surprise. We love their dual focus on premium video slots through SwinttGames and their retro-inspired classics via SwinttPlay, and thanks to this unique setup, the studio has managed to build a portfolio encompassing more than 100 titles!

It’s also impressive to see that SwinttLive has taken off, and while it’s not Swintt directly that powers it, it’s still a notable achievement. Of course, backed by the Glitnor Group, Swintt enjoys corporate stability and global reach, and they’re well licensed, too, with the ability to operate in regions like the UK and Sweden.

While their game catalogue (currently) lacks any non-slot or live dealer games, Swintt has managed to keep its focus clear: they develop high-quality, engaging video slots, and they work hard to ensure that all of their titles are personalised for the markets they’re due to be released in.
