History & Company Background
SmartSoft Gaming was established in 2015 in Tbilisi by a team of game developers who came together to attempt to “blend gaming and gambling into fresh experiences.” The company started with relatively modest resources, and it wasn’t until 2017 that things began to kick off for them. This was the period when they released their first “breakthrough title” – JetX – a flying-crash game that became hugely popular.
Following this, SmartSoft maintained a rapid release schedule, often launching one new game per month. Initially serving local markets, the studio went global in 2019 by submitting games to international platforms and expos, and we’ll talk more about this in the “partnerships and collaborations” section later in this review.

SmartSoft Gaming Product Portfolio
SmartSoft Gaming provides its players with a diverse catalogue of gambling games. Its core products include video slots spanning various themes, as well as a strong collection of table and crash games. In this next section, we’ll explore each category and give you an overview of what you can expect to see from the studio.
Online Slot Games
First off, we’re going to look at five of the most popualr online slots created by SmartSoft.
Samurai Slot
A five-reel, three-row slot with an East Asian warrior theme, Samurai Slot is one of the game developer’s most successful releases. While the base game doesn’t offer much in the way of excitement, it’s a really good-looking game, and what you’ll want to be looking out for is the free spins bonus round.
During the bonus round, there’s a unique mechanic that comes into play, too. Any winning combinations you manage to form can expand to cover more rows, or a multiplier can randomly appear, which is then applied to the value of that win. Samurai Slot also contains a gamble feature, the standard double-or-nothing card gamble.
Magic Garden 10
Magic Garden 10 is a vibrant adventure-themed slot featuring a mystical garden of fruits and flowers. The game’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and you’ll find ten fixed paylines in play at all times. The game’s symbols are all theme-specific and include a variety of different enchanted herbs and fruits!
Like in most of SmartSoft Gaming’s slots, the main attraction inside Magic Garden 10 is the free spins bonus round, and this is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. The scatter symbols, by the way, are mushrooms, and these can land on all five reels.
During the free spins bonus round, you won’t, unfortunately, find any overly unique modifiers, but if you land five scatter symbols, you do begin with a whopping 50 free spins, and it’s also possible to re-trigger additional spins by landing 3+ scatters during the feature. Magic Garden 10 also includes a gamble feature. After any winning spin, you have the option to try and guess the colour of a face-down playing card to double your win!
Book of Win
Book of Win is a cartoon-style Egyptian-themed slot. It resembles classic “book” slots, so don’t expect anything too unique, but we felt that we had to mention it here, as it’s a core part of the game developer’s offering.
The slot is designed around the classic five-reel, three-row layout, and, naturally, there are ten fixed paylines in play. Unlike some other Book of games, you can’t adjust the number of active paylines. The base game doesn’t offer too much in the way of excitement, so it’s the bonus round you’ll be looking to trigger. This is done by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, and once you manage to do so, you’ll be awarded with ten free spins.
During the bonus, one symbol is randomly chosen to become the “expanding” symbol. When it lands, it expands to cover the entire reel that it appears on, and this means, for example, if you land one instance of your chosen symbol on all five reels, you’ll be paid for a full screen! It’s also possible to re-trigger more spins by landing another 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols anywhere in view during the bonus!
Burning Ice 10
Burning Ice 10 is a modern fruit-themed video slot, and, like most classic-inspired slots, it’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout. The game carries ten fixed paylines, and you’ll see a number of classic symbols like watermelons, cherries, plums, the “burning” symbols, ice crystals, and flames. There’s also a wild symbol that, when it lands, applies a 2x multiplier to any win that it helps to form.
If you manage to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you’ll trigger the game’s free spins bonus round, and here, certain symbols can end up locking in place, becoming sticky, allowing you to form “burning” wins.
The Christmas Eve
The Christmas Eve is, unsurprisingly, a festive holiday-themed slot, and it’s set on a beautiful snowy Christmas night! The game uses a five-reel, three-row layout, and the reels are set atop a winter village. It looks fantastic in our opinion!
You’ll see a number of symbols on the reels, including Santa, elves, ornaments, presents, and the low-value symbols are represented by playing card values, including 10, jack, queen, king, and ace. The Star is the game’s wild symbol, too.
If you manage to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you will trigger the game’s main free spins bonus round, and this awards you with between 10 and 50 free spins, depending on the number of scatters you landed. During the free games, special ornament symbols can land, and when they do, they can expand certain symbols (making them fill the entire reels they land on) or apply a multiplier to your win!
Crash Games
Along with their flagship release of JetX, SmartSoft Gaming have a strong collection of Crash Games, which continues to be a growing genre in the gambling market. Additional premium titles in this sector for SmartSoft include Balloon and CricketX.
Jackpot Slots
So far, SmartSoft Gaming has chosen not to focus on developing traditional progressive jackpot games, which means you won’t find titles that share a large jackpot pooled across numerous online casinos. Most of their releases feature either set maximum win limits or, occasionally, fixed jackpots.
A good example of this can be seen in their Crash game, JetX. Here, you’ll find a three-tiered jackpot system, including Planet, Galaxy, and Space. Sure, these aren’t progressives, but they offer a jackpot-like experience.
Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games
Besides slots and crash games, SmartSoft offers classic and social casino games. Below, we’ll explore their casino table games:
- Table Games: SmartSoft Gaming offers a pretty decent selection of standard casino table games. You’ll find, for example, multiple variations of roulette and blackjack, including European roulette, American roulette, and Blackjack 21+3. You’ll also find some poker games like Texas Hold’em, Fast Poker, Baccarat, and Sic Bo. Some of these tables – in regions where it’s permitted – are even PvP, too – so rather than playing directly against the house, you gamble against other players instead!
- Bingo & Keno: SmartSoft Gaming’s portfolio includes bingo games and keno, too, with animated number draws. Bingo games have lively ball-spinning graphics. Keno is presented with modern interfaces and frequent draw cycles, although the house edge tends to be very high.
- Scratch Cards / Instant Games: SmartSoft Gaming also offers a small selection of scratch cards and instant win games. This includes the likes of Honey World and Genie’s Bonanza.
- Mini / Arcade Games: Finally, the studio provides a number of mini or arcade games. One of their most popular is PlinkoX – a coin-drop/plinko-style game where multipliers come into play!
SmartSoft Games With The Biggest Payouts
| Slot Name | Max Win |
|---|---|
| 1. JetX | 25,000x bet |
| 2. PlinkoX | 10,000x bet |
| 3. Balloon | 10,000x bet |
| 4. Apollo 77 | 250x bet |
| 5. Sugar Fiesta | 145x bet |
| 6. FootballX | 100x bet |
| 7. Mine Island | 100x bet |
| 8. Roll X | 30x bet |
Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features
With a collection of casino games and slots spanning multiple genres, SmartSoft Gaming has relied on several mechanics to power its releases. This section breaks down each one and explains how it works.
Paylines
When you’re playing payline slots, to form a win, matching symbols need to land on one of these active lines to form a win, typically starting from the leftmost reel and appearing on consecutive reels.
Paylines can be horizontal, diagonal, or even in zigzag shapes, and in many older slot titles, you were able to change the number of active paylines manually. Today, however, the vast majority of online slots use fixed paylines, so you can’t choose how many to play.
Popular Payline Games From SmartSoft:
- Magic Garden 40
- Book of Win
- Samurai Slot
Ways to Win
Unlike paylines, ways-to-win mechanics don’t rely on fixed patterns. Instead, wins are awarded for landing matching symbols on consecutive reels, regardless of their vertical position on those reels. This usually increases the number of potential winning combinations.
The number of ways to win you’ll find in a slot varies greatly, mainly due to the number of rows and reels. On a five-reel, three-row game, for example, there would be 243 ways to win, whereas a five-reel, four-row layout would offer 1024 ways to win.
Popular Ways to Win Games From SmartSoft:
- MoonStone
- Sport Slot
- Sugar Fiesta
Unique Mechanics
X-Games
SmartSoft’s main “rise to fame”, if you like, is its X-Games series. Using a proprietary engine, these games blend gambling with arcade-style gameplay. The core mechanic of the game developer’s X-Games, like JetX, is surprisingly simple. You place a bet before a virtual jet takes off, and you need to decide when to cash out by clicking a button. Doing so secures the current multiplier the jet has reached, and you are then awarded the win.
In other words, the longer you manage to hold out, the more you stand to win, but if you don’t cash out in time, the jet will crash, and you won’t win anything for that round. Some of the software provider’s other popular X-Games include Football X and Tower X.
Best SmartSoft Gaming Slots Ranked By Demoslot Rating

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Football X doesn’t bring anything new to the crash genre, but it’s a good option for those who enjoy fast-paced, football-themed gameplay. The potential for up to 100x the stake might not be as high as some other crash games, but it still offers enough excitement to keep you on the edge of your seat. If you’re a fan of crash games and love football, this could be a fun way to combine the two.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Balloon is a well-presented crash game that not only gives you a welcome break from the flying style of titles in this niche but also offers you a little more control over how far you're prepared to risk your money as you have complete control over the inflation of the balloon. If you're seeking something different in this genre, Balloon is worth some of your time.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Of the Smartsoft Gaming releases I’ve played, Mine Island provided the most entertainment in terms of gameplay. Sure, the maximum win isn't that great, but I did like that you have more control over the action. You’re not going to get punished for forgetting to cash out in time, like in other titles, as the game stops at each increment so that you can make your decision. Having the option to collect half your winnings (once unlocked) also adds to the strategy of each round.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
If you're a game provider that deals in crash and instant win games, you need to get a version of Plinko into your portfolio. That is precisely what SmartSoft has done with PlinkoX, and the addition of extra multipliers in the game makes their release stand out from the crowd.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
JetX is a straightforward yet exhilarating crash game ideal for players who enjoy high-stakes action. The potential to win up to 25,000x the stake is reason enough to give it a go, though the simple graphics and lack of bonus features might not appeal to everyone. However, if you're a fan of crash games, JetX is definitely worth trying.
Commitment to Player Safety and Fairness
Licensing & Regulation
SmartSoft Gaming is one of the (relatively) few software providers that displays clear and easily accessible licensing information on its website. You can view this information in the footer section. At the time of this writing, it holds two different online gambling licenses.
Their first is from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), and it was issued to SmartSoft Limited. They hold a B2B Critical Supply Licence under license number MGA/B2B/925/2021. This online gambling license allows the software provider to provide its games to other businesses, like content aggregators and online casinos.
The game developer also holds an online gambling license from Romania’s Oficiul Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN). They link to their website in their footer, but, unfortunately, when we were writing this review, the link returned a 404 error. However, this is likely a mistake by ONJN rather than SmartSoft.
Fair Play & Security
SmartSoft Gaming is committed to a fair and secure gaming environment. Like with their licensing information, we were also impressed with the level of information displayed on their website. They use three different testing houses, which include the biggest names in the industry: Gaming Associates, eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), and iTech Labs.
It’s unclear when they use each specific testing house. For example, they may have their random number generated tested by one company and their game code by another, but it’s good to see them being transparent with this information. It means all games are legit, fair, and truly random.
If you’re unfamiliar with testing houses, they are independent companies that issue certifications for games from software providers. For instance, if a studio wants to launch a new game, it needs to send all of the source code and materials to one of these testing houses, which will then perform billions of simulator spins to make sure that the game is fair and that it runs to its theoretical RTP!
Partnerships & Collaborations
Like most iGaming software providers these days, SmartSoft Gaming distributes much of its content through content aggregators. This allows them to spend more time developing games and less time negotiating and dealing with online casinos.
One of SmartSoft’s first significant partnerships was concluded in 2021, when they signed an agreement with SOFTSWISS. This allowed SmartSoft Gaming’s entire game portfolio to be accessible via the SOFTSWISS casino platform, and this means their titles instantly became available to thousands of online casinos around the world.
Shortly after, SmartSoft Gaming partnered with EveryMatrix, allowing their game catalogue to become available through their CasinoEngine (also known as SlotsMatrix) aggregator platform. Again, this made SmartSoft Gaming’s games available to all operators and online casinos that run on CasinoEngine.
Towards the end of 2021, SmartSoft Gaming also partnered with Slotegrator. This partnership was the same as the two discussed above; it allowed operators using Slotegrator’s APIgrator tool to begin instantly offering SmartSoft Gaming’s games through their site. Recently, SmartSoft Gaming also collaborated with NuxGame, further enhancing the reach of their casino game portfolio.
Although SmartSoft Gaming primarily deals with aggregators like the ones listed above, it has partnered directly with certain operators and online casinos. A few of these are listed at the bottom of its website, including BetPawa, Crystalbet, and PlayLogiq.
Corporate Social Responsibility
At the time of writing, we were unable to find any information about corporate social responsibility initiatives from SmartSoft Gaming. This isn’t particularly unexpected; they’re not the largest game developer in the world and are a privately held company. CSR initiatives tend to be reserved for large corporations like Microgaming or Playtech, both of which are publicly traded and have entire teams dedicated to charitable causes.
That’s not to say that they won’t look into doing corporate social responsibility initiatives in the future, but for now, we could not find any details of such programmes on their website. They do, however, take responsible gambling seriously, and you will find a number of tools built into their games, like reality checks and win/loss limits.

Final Summary
SmartSoft Gaming is a creative and relatively impressive iGaming studio; there’s no denying that. While they’ve been around since 2015, they’re still not a name many players would recognise at first, and, in our opinion, that’s a shame.
They’re capable of producing some excellent games, and the graphics and mechanics inside many of them rival what we typically see from larger, more well-established providers. We also think it’s fair to say that the studio has done well to tap into a niche like its X-Games. This has allowed them to pioneer the crash games industry and helps to set them apart from other studios that focus exclusively on video slots and casino table games.
In our opinion, all their games are also really well-made. They’re all fully HTML5, so they can be played from both desktop and mobile devices, and, thanks to the studio’s partnerships with content aggregators like SOFTSWISS, they’re more readily available than ever before. They could do with a better marketing team; that’s fair to say, but on the whole, SmartSoft Gaming is a solid company, and we look forward to seeing what they will release in the future!
