SimplePlay is a relatively new iGaming software developer founded in 2019 by a team of Asian “industry veterans,” as they like to call themselves. Despite only being active in the industry for a short space of time, SimplePlay has done a good job at building an extensive portfolio of games, and currently offers more than 50 video slots, table games, fishing games, and more.
Headquartered in Asia and closely associated with SA Gaming, which we’ll cover later in our review, SimplePlay targets Eastern and Western markets. Its games often feature multiple language options, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai, and all of its releases are fully mobile optimised, a key component for success in the current iGaming market, especially in Eastern countries.
If you’re new to SimplePlay or seeking more information about the studio, you’re in the right place, as our full review of the brand includes company history, an overview of game styles and mechanics, along with a portfolio of free slot demos from the developer you can try out and experiece for yourself.

History & Company Background
SimplePlay was established by “some of the most experienced professionals in different domains of the industry”, although it’s unclear exactly who these figures are. Since its founding, the software provider has chosen to focus largely on a broad range of games, covering themes from Chinese myths, fantasy adventures, and unique, quirky concepts.
Just a year after launching, SimplePlay made its debut at ICE London, where it began showcasing the games it had developed so far. Around the same time, it entered into a collaboration with SA Gaming, one that would see it become a de facto subsidiary of the live dealer casino provider! Later in the year, SimplePlay also began running its first marketing campaigns!
Over the next year or so, SimplePlay continued to produce video slots, and while none got quite the level of attention they probably wanted, they did fairly well and started rolling out to online casinos, especially across Asia. In 2022, they received their first official nominations at the iGaming Asia Awards, and then, later, at the SPiCE India Awards.
In 2023, they ended up winning the SPiCE India 2023 Best B2B Digital Platform award, and they were also nominated for the Online Slot Game Solution at the Asia Gaming Awards!

SimplePlay Product Portfolio
This next section of our SimplePlay review sees us take a look at all of the gambling products the studio offers players as part of its full portfolio. We’ll kick things off by telling you about four of their most popular online slots to date.
Online Slot Games
Candy Witch
Candy Witch is a sweet-themed slot game played on a five-reel, three-row layout. The game uses 30 fixed paylines, and these are non-adjustable. Wins are formed from left to right, and you’ll need to hit a three-of-a-kind or better combo to secure a win.
As the name suggests, Candy Witch is all about sweets and magic, and it has a really unique Dual Free Spins Bonus mechanic. This is triggered by two different scatter symbols. The first bonus can see up to 240 stacked wilds added to the reels, and the second can see multipliers coming into play, worth up to 24x!
It may not be the most appealing game to experienced slots players, but it’s worth a spin if you’re new to SimplePlay’s games and want to see what they’re all about!
Dragon Slayer
Dragon Slayer is a fun, fast-paced video slot designed around a five-reel, three-row layout. Instead of paylines, the game uses a 243-ways-to-win mechanic, something you’ll see a lot of in SimplePlay’s games! From the moment you load the game, you’ll find yourself plunged into a world of fire-breathing dragons, and the heroes trying to kill them.
During the free spins, you collect special symbols, and each time you do, the size of the playfield grows, thanks to expanding reels! It’s possible to extend the game grid from 5×3 up to 5×5, and if you do, you’ll then enjoy 3,125 ways to win! In addition to the free spins round, you will also find Bomb Wilds, which can randomly be thrown onto the reel to improve your chances of landing a win!
Lucky Clover
Lucky Clover is another popular video slot from SimplePlay, and the game uses an Irish-luck theme! It’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and instead of paylines, the slot uses a 243-ways-to-win mechanic, so you don’t need to worry about where symbols land, provided you hit one of each on the first three reels! Some players may feel the Irish luck theme is well overdone, but it’s virtually a requirement these days for game developers to offer something in the genre, and Lucky Clover is a good addition to the niche in our opinion.
Firstly, there’s the Double Reel mechanic: occasionally, two adjacent reels lock together and spin as a single, giant reel. This can effectively create extended symbols across two reels, increasing the chances of you landing big wins! Now, if two pairs of reels double up simultaneously, the game can also expand for that spin, offering up to 576 ways to win!
In addition to the double-reel bonus, Lucky Clover includes a standard wild symbol and a free spins round where coins or clovers can act as extra wilds. It’s not the most exciting game, but we included it here as it’s a game they tend to promote quite heavily, so players must think it’s OK!
Bomber Squad
Bomber Squad is one of SimplePlay’s most popular video slot releases, and the game’s designed around a five-reel, four-row layout using a 1024-ways-to-win mechanic, so it doesn’t matter specifically where matching symbols land, as long as they hit on the first three reels.
It’s a pretty cool-themed slot, based around gangsters, and the reels depict cartoon-style mob bosses, police and money bags. Bomber Squad is very volatile, so be aware of this, and if you manage to trigger the game’s main free spins bonus round, you’ll be able to choose which bonus you want. The more spins you choose, the lower the multiplier, and vice versa, so you can choose your own volatility level here, too!
Bomber Squad also contains a progressive jackpot mechanic. There are three progressive jackpots to be won on any one spin – Mini, Minor, and Major – and on any spin, both in the base game and the bonus round, there’s a chance that the progressive jackpot round will trigger randomly. This is a pooled progressive jackpot, too, so it grows each time a player spins the slot!
Jackpot Slots
SimplePlay operates a progressive jackpot network that you’ll find in quite a few of its slot games, and this network features three tiers of jackpots: Mini, Minor, and Major. You’ll find the progressive jackpots in a lot of their games, including Prosperity Tree, Zombie Hunter, Volley Beauties, Tropical Treasure, The Guard, and Red Chamber.
It operates as a pooled network progressive, so each time a bet is placed on these interconnected games, a small portion of that bet contributes to the growing jackpot pools, which grow larger over time.
What’s interesting about SimplePlay’s progressive jackpots, however, is that they are awarded randomly at the end of spins. This is similar to how other game developers like Betsoft operate, meaning you don’t have to hit any specific combos or trigger bonuses to scoop them!
Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games
SimplePlay also offers a small suite of non-slot casino games. Their most popular is arguably Baccarat, and it’s a pretty cool game. While it uses a random number generator, SimplePlay decided to make each card shoe as a cryptographic hash, and this means that players can verify the randomness of any hand, at any time, through the blockchain! This is known as a Provably Fair game.
Besides baccarat, SimplePlay has a standard European roulette variation and a few Asian-inspired mini-games. These include Thai Hi-Lo and Filipino carnival games like Pula-Puti and Colour SicBo. You will also find a few novelty games like Rolling 7, Beauty & Gorilla King, and Bomb Adventure, the latter of which acts similarly to a Minesweeper-style game.

| 6. Doggie Star | 9,000x bet |
Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features
SimplePlay is a gaming studio that has tended to stick to the basics with regard to online slot and casino game mechanics. This approach has allowed them to focus purely on game creation, rather than experimenting with new or complicated existing engines. In this next section, we’ll look more closely at what the developer has used in their content and how each of these mechanics operates.
Paylines
Paylines are predefined lines or patterns on the slot reels where matching symbols need to land to create a winning combination. These lines can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or even zigzag shapes across the reels, and when playing payline slots, you need to try to land (typically) three or more matching symbols, from left to right, to form a win.
In some older slots, you used to be able to adjust the number of active paylines, but today, this has pretty much been phased out, so you’re stuck with the number of paylines the game developer made the slot with!
Popular Payline Games From SimplePlay:
- Songkran Party
- Sparta’s Honor
- Myth of Phoenix
Ways to Win
In online slots, the ways-to-win mechanic means winning combinations are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the left – regardless of the symbol’s position on the reels.
In ways-to-win games, unlike traditional paylines, symbols don’t need to land on a specific line. If a symbol appears on reel 1, then reel 2, and so on for a required number of reels, it counts as a win. This adds a bit more excitement to the game for many players. Common configurations include 243, 1024, and 4,096 ways to win.

Unique Mechanics From SimplePlay
Multiplayer Fishing/Shooting Games
As we briefly mentioned above, SimplePlay also develops arcade, multiplayer fishing, and shooting games. Some of their most popular titles in this genre include Lustrous Ocean and Fishermen Gold. These games can support up to six players simultaneously in a shared game room, a pretty unusual approach for casino providers and one that’s not actually allowed in many jurisdictions.
In these titles, players can cooperate or compete to “shoot” fish and sea creatures for prizes. Some releases also incorporate elements like jackpots and power-ups, blending slight levels of skill with an unusual type of casino gaming!
In-Game Leaderboards
Some of SimplePlay’s video slots incorporate in-game leaderboards, although it’s ultimately up to online gambling operators to decide whether they want to enable this feature or not. These leaderboards track players’ scores based on various factors such as total winnings, highest single win, or specific in-game achievements during a set period, like a day, week, or month.
Sure, these leaderboards do not offer prizes or monetary value, but they are a nice way for players to feel a sense of competition while playing and can, for some, enhance their gaming experience!
Best SimplePlay Slots Ranked By Demoslot Rating

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
If you’re going to play Candy Witch, make sure you implement a bankroll strategy that will last at least 100 spins, or perhaps 200, to be safe. Collecting the required scatter symbols for the two bonus games can take quite a while. I’d also suggest turning Turbo play on, as each collected scatter results in the witches kicking the reels into each other - which is purely for aesthetic purposes but gets annoying after about 5 spins. If you do both of those things, there’s a good chance you could enjoy your time on Candy Witch.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
SimplePlay is not currently the most well-known slot developer, but if you are a fan and have played a few of their previous slots, you might find Guardian of Flame familiar, and that's because it is a direct clone of Candy Witch. So, if you like that release, there's every chance you'll enjoy playing this one too.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
One thing that appeals about many of SimplePlay’s slots is the chance to win a progressive jackpot, and not many of the smaller developers offer these, so it's a nice change. Thanks to some impressive graphics and animations, Golden Legacy looks the part tool, and whilst it could be argued that It is lacking in the bonus features department, fans of the provider will no doubt get a kick out of it.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
I’ve reviewed a handful of SimplePlay slots recently, and they’ve all left me with a positive opinion. They’re full of colour, have impressive graphics, and I’ve come across a good array of bonus features over the titles. I think Songkran Party is one of my favourites so far, and while it’s not the best slot you’ll ever play, it includes some solid bonuses and a fun theme.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion: Mighty Miner is a good-looking slot game with some interesting features. The Megaways-like reel mechanic offers up to 117,649 ways to win, and with a 10,000x maximum win, it's a slot definitely worth experiencing at least once.
Commitment to Player Safety and Fairness
Licensing & Regulation
Under the SA Gaming group, SimplePlay’s products operate under SA Gaming’s regulatory framework. SA Gaming holds online gambling licenses from the Curacao Gaming Control Board (GCB) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), which means that while SimplePlay themselves don’t need to worry about getting licenses, their games do need to adhere to the regulations enforced by SA Gaming’s regulators.
That said, SimplePlay is still responsible for a number of things, like ensuring that its video slots and table games aren’t designed to appeal to children and offering in-game responsible gambling tools, like loss/win limits and reality checks.
Fair Play & Security
SimplePlay adheres to standard industry practices for safety and fairness. All of its games employ certified random number generators, and its RNG is tested to ensure it’s… well, truly random! SimplePlay states on its website that its random number generator and games are tested and certified by BMM Testlabs, and this is good for us to see, as BMM is a leading name in the iGaming testing world.
Partnerships & Collaborations
To distribute its games, SimplePlay works closely with industry partners. Their most notable collaborator is SA Gaming, under whose umbrella SimplePlay launched; SA Gaming helps provide a distribution network across Asia and other regulated markets.
In addition, SimplePlay’s titles have also been integrated via casino aggregation platforms. For example, platform providers like SoftGamings, Slotegrator and NuxGame offer SimplePlay games through their unified APIs, allowing online casinos worldwide to easily add SimplePlay’s content to their lobbies.
These integrations have helped the studio’s games become accessible to players around the globe without the game developer needing to worry about forming (or negotiating) individual agreements!
Corporate Social Responsibility
SimplePlay’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts aren’t particularly well-documented, and it’s unclear whether they run any such campaigns at all. Unlike consumer-facing brands, game studios typically emphasise fair play rather than charitable initiatives, with the only real exceptions being the large publicly-traded companies like Games Global, Light & Wonder, and Playtech.
SimplePlay makes no specific mention of any CSR initiatives on its website, but we do know that they take responsible gambling seriously. For example, all of their video slots have built-in responsible gambling tools, designed to safeguard players from unnecessary harm, and this includes tools like loss/win limits on autoplay and reality session timers, allowing you to see how much you’ve won or lost in a single session.

Final Summary
SimplePlay is definitely not one of the best known game developers on the planet, but they’re a studio that’s managed to make a strong start for themselves in the online casino industry, and their games are colourful, exciting, and often have advanced and unique mechanics for a developer so new to the scene!
Sure, SimplePlay’s games catalogue tends to focus mainly on the Asian markets, but they have, in recent years, started to develop Western-inspired games, too, and their introduction of multiplayer arcade titles is also pretty impressive. Of course, their partnership with SA Gaming has helped them significantly, and while they lack a proper online gambling license, their slots are tested and certified by BMM (BMM Testlabs), which puts them in good standing in our opinion.
