History & Company Background
NowNow Gaming was established in 2024 in Cape Town, framing itself as one of the first game studios in South Africa’s emerging iGaming scene. Unfortunately, we were unable to uncover any information about the studio’s founders, and it looks like the team is, to this day, small and likely working remotely.
Somewhat unusually for an iGaming studio, NowNow Gaming states on its website: “As NowNow aims for new heights, we remain committed to our roots in a country that has faced many challenges.”
It’s unclear whether they plan to honour their country through their releases (by making South African-themed slots, for example), but at the time of writing, their games have been developed to a pretty high level of quality, especially those produced along with Hacksaw Gaming!

NowNow Gaming Product Portfolio
NowNow Gaming focuses entirely on video slots, so you won’t find any other types of games in their portfolio. While this may be a turnoff for some players, it does mean that their slots are built to a high level of quality, and below, we’re going to explore five of their most popular titles!
Online Slot Games
Fantasy Fruits
Fantasy Fruits is one of NowNow Gaming’s coolest-looking slots, and it’s themed around a collision between fruits and neon lights! It looks pretty good, if we’re being honest, and we like the red backdrop that the reels are set upon! The game’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and there are 15 fixed paylines in play at all times.
There’s quite a lot going on in the game despite the classic/retro theme, and you’ll find a unique symbol morphing mechanic. Each time you form a win, the symbols involved with the win morph and split into two or three, allowing you to form 15-of-a-kind combos on a five-reel grid! There’s also a free spins bonus round where you can win up to 12 free games, and the slot’s maximum win potential is a healthy 10,000x, so there’s some big wins to be found, too!
Desert Fortunes
Desert Fortunes is (yet another) NowNow Gaming slot that draws inspiration from multiple themes/mechanics. The slot’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and you’ll find ten fixed paylines in play at all times. The game focuses almost entirely on the wild-collection mechanic.
During any spin, landing six or more wild symbols triggers an instant payout. If you look above the reels, you’ll see that there is a payout structure in place for this. Hitting six, for example, awards you 1x, but if you manage to land 15 (a full screen), you’ll scoop the game’s jackpot of 5,000x!
Shadow Treasure
Shadow Treasure is, in our opinion, one of NowNow Gaming’s best slots, and it was released in November 2024. The game’s designed around a five-reel, four-row layout and uses just 20 fixed paylines; it’s available via Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform.
The game has a really cool multiplier mechanic, and above each reel, you’ll see that there’s a multiplier. Any spin that results in a win sees the winning symbols locking in place, and a re-spin is then awarded. If, on the re-spin, any additional winning symbols land, they also lock in place. If you manage to fill an entire reel with symbols (they don’t need to be the same symbol), the multiplier is then applied to the win for that spin!
8-Bit Quest
8-Bit Quest is another game developed in partnership with Hacksaw Gaming, and it’s designed around a five-reel, four-row layout. Instead of conventional paylines, the slot uses a 1024-ways-to-win mechanic and cascading reels, so any time you form a win, the symbols involved with the win disappear from the reels, and new ones drop down to take their place.
You’ll find wild multipliers in both the base game and the bonus round, but during the free spins feature, the multipliers become sticky, locking in place, and this is where the game’s main win potential (of up to 10,000x) can be hit!
Street Knockout
Street Knockout is a video slot from NowNow Gaming released in May 2025. The slot’s designed around a 6×6 grid layout, and unlike conventional slots, it uses a cluster pays mechanic.
If you land wilds, and they form part of a win, they punch the winning symbols, and this can see a multiplier added, so there’s some good win potential to be found in the base game, to be honest! There’s also a free spins bonus round with increased multipliers, and, with a maximum win potential of 10,000x, it’s easy to see why the game is set to become one of the provider’s most popular releases!
Jackpot Slots
NowNow Gaming’s current offerings do not include any pooled progressive jackpot slots. This is not unusual, especially for a relatively small game developer of NowNow’s size. Instead, their games focus on high-variance math models where you can win in-game jackpots, but nothing progressive as of now.
It’s unclear whether this will change in the future, but if NowNow Gaming does release progressive jackpot titles, we’ll update this section accordingly.
Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games
Beyond slots, NowNow Gaming’s portfolio is… well, limited. As of now, NowNow Gaming does not produce any casino table games, so you won’t find any blackjack or roulette variations. They also produce no live dealer games, nor do they offer any bingo, keno, or lottery-style titles.
It’s unclear whether the provider plans to change this in the future, but for now, they’re choosing to stick solely to slots, which is what they know best!

| 4. Opa Santorini | 10,000x bet |

Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features
With their primary focus centered around online slots, you’ll encounter several in-game mechanics in NowNow Gaming slots. In this section, we’ll look at what engines and structures you’ll come across and how each works.
Paylines
Paylines are, by far, the most popular mechanic found in online slots, and they are, essentially, predetermined patterns across slot reels where matching symbols need to land to create winning combinations. Traditional slots featured single horizontal paylines, but modern video slots can offer up to 100! In some games, players can choose how many paylines to play with, while in other games, the number of active lines is fixed.
Popular Payline Games From NowNow Gaming
- Sweets of Heaven
- Fantasy Fruits
- Shakas Riches
Cluster Pays
Cluster Pays is an innovative slot mechanic that abandons traditional paylines and, instead, awards wins based on groupings of symbols. In cluster pays games, you form a win by landing a set number of matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically in a cluster pattern! While the exact number of symbols needed in a cluster varies, it’s usually a minimum of 5-9. Naturally, the more symbols that form part of a cluster, the larger the win!

- Street Knockout
Ways to Win
Ways-to-Win mechanics completely changed the face of online slots in the 2010s by eliminating fixed paylines altogether. Instead, matching symbols on adjacent reels, usually from left to right, is enough to form a win, regardless of their exact position on the reels! Early variations of ways-to-win games typically featured a 243-ways-to-win mechanic, but later, game developers would start offering slots with 1024-ways-to-win or even 4,096-ways-to-win mechanics!

- 8-Bit Quest
Bonus Buy Slots
Like all other studios partnered with Hacksaw Gaming, NowNow Gaming has incorporated the feature buy option into their games. Whilst there are variations of the bonus you can buy, the standard feature across most games will cost you 100x the current bet to trigger.
Unique Features from NowNow Gaming
Partner Exclusive Games
While this may not seem like much of a “unique feature”, we wanted to list the provider’s partner-exclusive games here, as it’s not something that we see from every iGaming provider. NowNow Gaming has teamed up with a number of online casinos, slots studios, and online gambling operators and is developing exclusive games just for these sites!
As of now, NowNow Gaming lists four partner-exclusive games on its website: Street Knockout, Robospin, 8-Bit Quest, and Shadow Treasure. These games are built as collaborations between NowNow Gaming and other studios, allowing for unique, often unusual concepts and themes!

Our Conclusion:
Debuting an online slot in the iGaming industry is a challenging thing to do, so kudos to NowNow Gaming for getting their first release under their belt via the Hacksaw Gaming OpenRGS platform. As for the game itself, it's not the most exciting title you're likely to encounter, but it does offer a glimpse of potential, and the 12,000x bet jackpot is a win any of us would be happy to take home.

Our Conclusion:
We never really know what to expect from a NowNow Gaming release because, like we mentioned earlier, they can be a bit inconsistent with the standard of their games. However, things have certainly improved with Peek & Pounce, and we now expect to see many more titles like this from the studio in the future.

Our Conclusion:
NowNow Gaming, despite their relatively young age, has done a pretty good job of pushing out games that capture attention. Yes, their partnership with Hacksaw Gaming has undeniably helped them a lot (all of their games are distributed via Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform), but even without that, they produce great looking games with some decent mechanics.
Penguin Royale is a cascade-driven slot that leans hard into momentum-based gameplay. The Frozen symbol mechanic works pretty well, we feel, turning early wins into Wild-heavy follow-up spins, although you are reliant quite a lot on this cascade mechanic in the base game, especially.
We also like the fact that there’s the Multiplier Meter added into the mix, too, as this creates quite a satisfying sense of build-up, even in the base game when not a lot is actually happening!
Yes, there’s only one Free Spins Bonus (compared to the two or three we usually see in NowNow/Hacksaw games), but that’s OK; not every game needs to have a super bonus! So, overall, Penguin Royale is a solid game with great graphics, decent mechanics, and a tempting maximum win potential of 10,000x!

Our Conclusion:
Farmhouse isn’t the most complex video slot in the world, but for what it is, it’s actually pretty decent. We like the design, which is an area NowNow Gaming always seems to do well in, and we find the gameplay actually quite fun.
There’s a lot going on, whether it’s the Surrounding Wilds, Silver Eggsplosion, or the multipliers that attach to each reel, and if you get some high persistent multipliers during the free spins, you can start to see how it’s possible to get towards the game’s maximum win potential of 10,000x.
Yes, it’s volatile, and yes, the theme won’t suit every player. However, Farmhouse is a really well-made, entertaining, and, in many ways, unique slot. There’s a lot going on, and if you like unpredictable cluster pays games, this is one to put on your “to play” list!

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Opa Santorini may well be made in the same style at Le Bandit with regards to its feature set, but it does enough with its own unique extra modifiers in the bonus round to make it stand out and be well worthy of a recommendation from the team here at Demoslot.
Commitment to Player Safety & Fairness
Licensing & Regulation
At the time of writing, we could not find any evidence that NowNow Gaming holds any valid online gambling licenses. Based in South Africa, it’s unclear whether they plan to apply for an iGaming license from the National Gambling Board (NGB). They do not currently list any licenses on their website, so any games they produce will be piggybacking on the licenses of partner gaming studios.
Fair Play & Security
NowNow’s games undergo independent security audits and testing to ensure they cannot be tampered with and that the random number generator technology used is actually fair. However, the software provider doesn’t publicly list on its website details of which testing houses it uses.
There is no requirement for them to do so, but we always find it adds credibility when game developers do provide this information. However, given that their slots are available through Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS, we know for a fact that their games are tested and certified. If they weren’t, Hacksaw Gaming would not offer them a platform.
Partnerships & Collaborations
NowNow Gaming, like almost all smaller (newer) game developers, relies pretty heavily on partnerships and collaborations to penetrate the market as a newcomer.
Hacksaw Gaming is their primary partner, and NowNow Gaming’s games are all available on Hacksaw’s OpenRGS platform. As we were just talking about in the licensing section above, this partnership also allows NowNow to distribute its slots into regulated markets, as they can piggyback on Hacksaw Gaming’s license.
NowNow Gaming has also partnered with several other game studios. For example, they produced Robospin in collaboration with BGaming, which was beneficial for both providers: BGaming got access to NowNow’s creative concepts, and NowNow got access to BGaming’s audience, much of which is in the crypto space.
A more recent partnership was formed when NowNow Gaming collaborated with African-focused RGS provider Hinterzimmer to tailor content for the continent’s markets. This shows that NowNow is committed to working with operators and aggregators who can produce content for local markets, too.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a startup, NowNow Gaming’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes are, well, to be frank, non-existent. However, the studio has mentioned potential CSR initiatives. On their About Us page, for example, they write: “As NowNow aims for new heights, we remain committed to our roots in a country that has faced many challenges.” So, it remains to be seen whether this will evolve into anything or not!

Final Summary
NowNow Gaming is an ambitious up-and-comer in the iGaming world. While there are a lot of new software providers operating in today’s online gambling space, it’s pretty rare to see a company partnering up with big-name studios like Hacksaw Gaming so soon. The fact that NowNow’s games are already available via Hacksaw’s OpenRGS system is positive in our opinion and should set the tone for what the provider will be able to deliver in the future.
Sure, their portfolio is still small and slot-focused, but the quality of their games is undeniable, and it’s great to see a small-scale studio already toying around with many different mechanics and innovative game features. Here at Demoslot, we look forward to seeing what they’re capable of producing in the future!
