Just Slots Operations Limited, known more commonly as, simply, Just Slots, is a young, venture-backed online slot developer that launched in early 2024. Despite less than two years in the industry, they’ve already managed to develop a portfolio of more than 13 titles, some of which offer maximum win potentials of up to 150,000x!

The company was co-founded by former PressEnter Group and Push Gaming executives, and since their debut, the studio has secured distribution agreements through major aggregators like SOFTSWISS and Hub88, while also signing exclusive operator deals with companies like Stake.com and Rhino Entertainment.

They may not have the reputation of distribution abilities of, say, Hacksaw Gaming or Nolimit City, but that looks to be something they’ll be working hard to change in the coming months, and in this Just Slots review, we’re going to show you exactly what they’re all about, look at some of their most popular games, and tell you all you need to know about the studio.

History & Company Background

Just Slots Operations Limited was incorporated in Malta in late 2023, and they began their “formal operations” shortly after, in early 2024. The company is headquartered at Level G, Office 1/1070, Quantum House, 75 Abate Rigord Street, Ta’Xbiex XBX1120, Malta, and, from what we can tell, they appear to operate with mostly a remote team.

The studio was co-founded by Thomas Groven, the CEO, who was formerly Chief Commercial Officer at PressEnter Group, and Christine Parkhill, the CCO, who spent six years at Push Gaming as Commercial Director. Other key parts of the leadership team include Nenad Cikic, who serves as CTO after being promoted from Head of Game Development, and Nick Formosa, Head of Client Strategy, who manages operator partnerships.

In January 2024, Just Slots secured a €1.125 million seed investment from Yolo Investments. The venture capital firm (founded by iGaming veteran Tim Heath) has also taken a strategic advisory role in the game development side of their operations.

Just Slots Product Portfolio

Just Slots’ portfolio consists entirely of online video slots. As of now, the studio produces no table games, bingo, dice, scratch cards, or other non-slot products, as the name implies. Below, we’ll take a look at five of their most popular and successful slot releases to date:

Sugar Heaven

Released in October 2024, Sugar Heaven is a vibrant candy-kingdom-inspired video slot designed around a five-reel, three-row layout with 20 fixed paylines. It offers a default RTP of 96.42%, and it’s highly volatile, to be expected from a game with a maximum win potential of 5,000x.

The game offers a wide variety of bonuses and features, including Multiplier Wild Symbols, a Random Base Game Bonus, and Free Spins with “Super Wilds”, including the Pink Super Wild. A Feature Buy option is also available, so, while not necessarily revolutionary, it’s a solid release, especially if you have a sweet tooth!

Shogun Skylord

Released in February 2025, Shogun Skylord features fantasy Japanese avian samurai warriors, all set in a floating mountain village and played on a 5×6 grid with 40 fixed paylines. The game’s default RTP sits at 96.34%, and the maximum win potential is solid: 10,000x.

The game boasts a tonne of features, from progressive reel multipliers, expanding wilds, free spins, and more, and there are bonus buy options available, as well as a HotSpin Ante bet, which increases your chances of landing the bonus round naturally.

Book of Arcane 100

Perhaps Just Slots’ most successful release to date, Book of Arcane 100 is based loosely on the “Book Of” format, but with some pretty insane twists. The action unfolds on a five-reel, three-row layout with ten fixed paylines, and it boasts an RTP of 96.36%.

Where things start to get interesting is when you look at the game’s maximum win potential; it offers a top payout of 100,000x, and, believe it or not, it’s actually more achievable than you may think!

The bonus round works in a near-identical way to the standard “Book of” games, so one symbol is chosen to expand. However, before the feature begins, you can gamble to have a starting multiplier of up to 100x, and you can gamble the symbol, too, to try and start with the top-paying one. It’s insanely volatile, but if you manage to hit the gamble ladder hard enough? It can, indeed, pay off!

Book of Abyss

Released in November 2025, Book of Abyss is a dark, gothic horror-themed slot set in a demonic underworld. It plays out on a five-reel, three-row layout with 10 fixed paylines, and it’s easily one of Just Slots’ most extreme releases, in our opinion! The game offers a staggeringly large maximum win potential of 150,000x, and, bizarrely, this is paired with an insanely high RTP of 98.03%!

The book symbol acts as both a wild and a scatter, triggering 10 free spins with expanding symbols and multipliers ranging from 1x up to 100x, and there’s also a gamble feature tied into the core maths, allowing upgraded symbols and even swapping reel sets as you progress. There are also multiple Feature Buy options, along with AnteBet, known as HotSpin.

Rain & Ruin

Released in September 2025, Rain & Ruin is a dramatic, mythology-inspired video slot built around a battle between two elemental gods: the Queen of Tides and the King of Wastelands. The game is played on a 5×6 grid with 40 fixed paylines, and it packs a seriously strong maximum win potential of 50,000x.

The game has a pretty unique mechanic called the Rival Reel feature, and here, Wilds can expand to cover entire reels – while also giving persistent progressive multipliers during the Free Spins. Three scatters trigger the bonus round with no starting multipliers, four scatters award a 10x starting value on each Rival Reel, and five scatters can boost the multipliers even higher!

There’s even an eye-watering Feature Buy that costs 1,500x, but that guarantees 100x multipliers on every Rival Reel, on every spin!

Dynamo’s Show

Last but not least is Dynamo’s Show, a 2025 release that’s themed around a steampunk circus vibe. The game’s played on a five-reel, four-row layout with 20 fixed paylines, and it comes with a default RTP of 96.20%, very high volatility, and a top payout of 25,000x.

What makes Dynamo’s Show quite unique is its booster system. Meters are placed between the reels, and these can transform multipliers from addition-based ones to multiplicative ones. There’s also a Hold & Collect-style feature, which plays out like your standard Respin feature.

Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features

Just Slots, being such a (relatively) young game developer, offers a fairly limited selection of games, and, as you’ll see from the below, they currently offer just one game mechanic. This will likely change in the future, but for now? Keep reading to learn what it is.

Paylines

Rather unusually for a game developer (even one with just a handful of games), Just Slots has chosen, so far, to build payline-focused titles only. This means, as of now, you won’t find any ways-to-win, Scatter Pays, or Cluster Pays games in their portfolio. So what is a payline-based slot?

In simple terms, a payline slot awards wins when matching symbols land on one of the game’s winning lines, which usually run from left to right across the reels. These lines can be straight, zigzagged, or shaped in different patterns, but for Just Slots, they have, so far, chosen fairly conventional payline formats: 10, 20, and 40 fixed lines.

Popular Just Slots Payline Slots:

  • Sugar Heaven
  • Shogun Skylord
  • Book of Arcane 100

Unique Mechanics

HotSpin

While Just Slots is yet to come up with any dedicated mechanics, like Big Time Gaming’s Megaways or ReelPlay’s InfinityReels, for example, they are beginning to experiment, and HotSpin is something you’ll find in most of their games.

This branded Ante Bet feature allows you to increase your base game stake (usually by 300%), in return for a higher chance of landing a bonus round. Sure, it’s not a new mechanic, but we always like when software providers are consistent, and branding their Ante Bet as “HotSpin” helps with brand recognition; it’s something we’ve seen from other studios, too, like Hacksaw Gaming’s FeatureSpins and Nolimit City’s Nolimit Boosters.

AI-Led Development Process

A more recent “unique mechanic” from Just Slots, if you can call it that, is their AI-focused development process. In 2024, the studio partnered with Future Anthem to use the Optimise module from Amplifier AI via Tequity’s RGS, and this allowed Just Slots’ team to access a LOT more data-driven tech to build and refine their games.

What this essentially means is that rather than relying purely on instinct or generalised iGaming trends, Just Slots can feed launch and gameplay data back into the development cycle, and this allows them to develop future releases around what players actually like.

#5 Shogun SkylordJust Slots

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.34% | Max Win: 10000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Shogun Skylord is a great-looking game from Just Slots, but it doesn’t exactly offer anything overly original. A lot of the core mechanics are very familiar, and Hacksaw Gaming fans will recognise a lot of the features pretty much instantly

The Expanding Multiplier Wilds have clearly been “inspired” by other games, but we do like how Just Slots has added their own little twist in the bonus round with the progressive multiplier reels.

It’s a pretty straightforward slot other than that; a 10,000x maximum win potential means it’ll appeal to a good number of players, but just make sure you’re playing the highest RTP version of the game, as 92.37%, the lowest it’s shipped in, is too low for us!

6.8/10
Dynamos Show Thumbnail

Demo & Review

#4 Dynamo's ShowJust Slots

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.20% | Max Win: 25000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Dynamo’s Show is, visually, a pretty impressive effort from Just Slots. It’s not the most complex-looking video slot in the world, but the graphics are crisp, smooth, and ultra-high-quality.

Yes, it’s true that the base game is a little light mechanics/features-wise, but the Hold & Collect Bonus can really “go off”, and this is clearly where most of the entertainment and value comes from.

Still, the bonus isn’t always good. It depends entirely on the setup, how often you land special symbols, and whether you manage to fill the power meter or not. If you do, though, you could find yourself inching towards that 25,000x maximum win potential, and that’s clearly going to be the main selling point for most players!

7.0/10
Rain Ruin Thumbnail

Demo & Review

#3 Rain & RuinJust Slots

Slot Stats: RTP: 96% | Max Win: 50000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Rain & Ruin is a modern, feature-dense video slot that has clearly put a lot of its identity into the rivalry mechanics, and using the Rival Reels, we feel that Just Slots has done enough here to make the game balanced out quite nicely.

Yes, the biggest wins are going to come from the bonus rounds, naturally, but that’s not to say you can’t hit decent wins in the base game either; just don’t expect them to land that often. Of course, for a video slot with a maximum win potential of 50,000x, it’s going to be volatile, but that’s just the trade-off you accept for a game with this kind of win ceiling.

If you like volatile slots with a clear bonus-hunting focus and don’t mind a pretty unforgiving base game at times, then Rain & Ruin is probably worth checking out. We like the direction Just Slots are taking, and it’s no surprise, to us at least, that Rain & Ruin is one of their more popular releases.

7.0/10
Vegan Nightmare Thumbnail

Demo & Review

#2 Vegan NightmareJust Slots

Slot Stats: RTP: 96.18% | Max Win: 10000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Vegan Nightmare is quite a fun caveman-and-dino slot that focuses less on complicated rules and more on a pretty simple mechanic on the face of it: Wilds, Multipliers, and Respins. The theme is light-hearted, and we genuinely enjoyed writing this review.

In terms of volatility, it’s definitely a little “spiky”, but that’s pretty much the only way to design a game that offers a maximum win potential of 10,000x! The game’s biggest wins will come from the respins/free spins, yes, but the base game can throw in some decent little hits, too, if enough Random Wilds land with Multipliers.

Look, Vegan Nightmare isn’t reinventing any formulas, nor is it likely to win any “Best Game of the Year” awards. It is, however, a solid, well-put-together game, and if you enjoy feature hunting and don’t mind some quieter patches while you do wait, then it’s a great game to check out, in our opinion.

9.0/10
Book Of Abyss Thumbnail

Demo & Review

#1 Book of AbyssJust Slots

Slot Stats: RTP: 98.03% | Max Win: 150000x | Review & Demo

Our Conclusion:

Book of Abyss is a very traditional “Book of” experience at heart, but it does an absolutely superb job of adding a twist, and to be honest, it’s so well done, this could, for us, be the best “Book of” game ever created, bar, perhaps, the original Book of Ra/Dead.

We absolutely love the Gamble feature. Yes, it’s dangerous; yes, it’s frustrating, and yes, you can lose a LOT. Make it to the top, though, and you really can hit some of the best wins you’re likely to hit on a non-progressive jackpot slot, and we don’t say that lightly here at Demoslot.

Now, of course, the volatility can be brutal; expect to lose a lot of gambles in a row (if you’re aiming for the top.) If you’ve got the stomach, though, and you’re prepared to endure the variance, Book of Abyss is a superb game and one of our favourites ever,, and that’s saying a hell of a lot.

Commitment to Player Safety and Fairness

Licensing & Regulation

Just Slots’ regulatory status is a little difficult; they’re based in Malta, and their terms of use state that any disputes are governed by the rules of Malta, but we could find no direct evidence that the software provider holds an online gambling licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

What we do know is that it builds its games on Tequity’s Remote Gaming Server (RGS) business, and this is the same platform used by providers like AvatarUX and MetaWin. As a result, it’s highly likely that Just Slots operates under Tequity’s platform-level licensing and certifications. This means that they don’t need their own licence, as they can, essentially, “piggyback” on the licence from Tequity.

We were also unable to find any information on where their random number generator is tested. Usually, you’d expect to see testing laboratories like iTech Labs, GLI (Gaming Laboratories International), BMM (BMM Testlabs), or eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), but none of this info was publicly available on their website. Again, it’s likely they are piggybacking on the random number generator used by Tequity.

Partnerships and Collaborations

Just Slots has built a distribution network through four major game aggregators. Hub88 was the first aggregation partner, with the finalised agreement signed in October 2024. Due to this agreement, Just Slots’ games were made available to all 120+ studios on Hub88’s network.

In August 2025, Just Slots partnered with SOFTSWISS, too, one of the world’s largest game aggregators. With over 35,000 active games on its platform, SOFTSWISS is one of the best distribution networks a new online gambling studio can join, and it’s a partnership that appears to have worked out pretty well for the developer.

Later that year, in December 2025, the studio joined forces with European Gaming, too, and this was quickly followed up with an agreement with BlueOcean’s GameHub in February 2026.

However, unlike some of the smaller, newer studios, Just Slots also decided to go the “direct-to-platform” route. Stake.com, for example, gained exclusive access to Cyber Egypt, a brand-new slot at the time of its release that was unavailable to play elsewhere. Rhino Entertainment (operating Casino Days, Buusti, Raketti, and Lucky Spins), European Gaming BIGGG Casino, Gamdom, and LuckyDreams were other direct-to-platform agreements that Just Slots entered into, and it’s likely we’ll see more of this in the future.

Just Slots has also teased some details of upcoming partnerships/agreements, too. They’ve stated that they’re in the process of working with Future Anthem, whose Amplifier AI platform offers data-driven optimisation insights through Tequity’s RGS.

Fair Play & Security

While we know that Just Slots has all of its games independently tested and certified (doing this is a requirement of any meaningful iGaming licence), again, the software provider has chosen not to provide any information on which testing houses/random number generator certifications they’ve been awarded.

Now, this is a pretty important part of running an online gambling games development company; without a certified random number generator, there’s simply no telling what shady operators/studios can do to their games.

Thankfully, there’s nothing to worry about with Just Slots. Their games are available on platforms like SOFTSWISS, and a game aggregator of SOFTSWISS’ size would never work with a studio that didn’t offer fair, unbiased games. As a result, it’s highly likely that Just Slots is, again, piggybacking, or certifying their games through one of their aggregators.

Corporate Social Responsibility

At the time of writing this Just Slots review, no dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility programmes or responsible gambling initiatives have been publicly revealed by the studio. The website does include a standard 18+ age gate, but there isn’t, unfortunately, a proper responsible gambling policy page.

We did manage to find a post where CCO Christine Parkhill was discussing AI’s role in supporting responsible gambling, but, up until now, nothing concrete has been announced. This isn’t unusual, especially for a relatively new company.

Most of the time, CSR initiatives are carried out by large-scale companies; think along the lines of Microgaming, Playtech, and NetEnt. Why? Because these huge studios have the budgets and manpower to run things like charity drives. While Just Slots might end up coming up with their own CSR initiatives, it’s not something they’ve chosen to focus on yet.

Final Thoughts

All things considered, Just Slots is a game studio we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on. Sure, they’re still in the early stages of their life, and their portfolio is pretty small, but they appear to be headed in the right direction so far. Now, they don’t (yet) have a signature defining mechanic to hang their hat on, and we’d definitely like to see more public transparency around licensing, testing, and responsible gambling tools; those are all areas where there is clear room for improvement.

Still, for a game developer that only launched in 2024? They’re off to a pretty strong start, and the team behind the studio obviously knows the online gambling industry inside out. That experience appears to be showing in their early game releases, too, with titles like Book of Abyss, Rain & Ruin, and Book of Arcane 100 showing that the studio is more than happy to lean into high-volatility gameplay, big win potential, and bold feature design.

They’re not (yet) at the level of Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, or Pragmatic Play, but, at the same time, they don’t feel like a low-effort startup that ends up fading into the background after a couple of years.

If Just Slots manages to keep up with their current release pace, continue landing lucrative distribution deals, and can, eventually, start to develop their own mechanics and innovative features? We feel they have an excellent shot of becoming a much bigger online gambling name in the next couple of years.
