There are either 5 or 8 paylines, depending on which version of the game you play, and if you look to the right-hand side of the reels, you’ll notice a unique 4th reel, without symbols.

Any time you hit a win, this 4th reel comes into play, as a multiplier of between 2x and 10x can land, which is then applied to the total value of your win! Unfortunately, there’s no standalone free spins bonus round, but the game did prove to be such a success that Jili Games and Tada, between them, would go on to release Fortune Gems 2, Fortune Gems 3 and Fortune Gems 500.

Chin Shi Huang

One of Jili’s most successful releases in Asia, Chin Shi Huang is a 6-reel, 4-row video slot themed on the first Emperor of China. It presents a well-written historical theme with imperial symbols, warriors, and ancient Chinese artefacts. Mechanically, the game offers 4,096 ways to win (every adjacent left-to-right combination pays, rather than fixed lines). It also features cascading reels: winning symbols are removed, and new symbols then drop down to take their place!

Landing 3+ scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the game’s main free spins bonus round, and here, the premium symbols can now land stacked on all six reels! Jili also claims that the odds of hitting wins in the bonus round are increased, and you can also re-trigger additional spins by landing another 3+ scatter symbols in view.

Golden Empire

Golden Empire takes you on an adventure back in time, and the game is inspired by an old Incan or Aztec empire! The action unfolds on a giant 6×6 grid, and a unique connected ways system means there can be up to 32,400 ways to win on each spin!

Wins are formed by adjacent symbols anywhere on successive reels, giving a Megaways-like feel, and, to make it more Megaways-esque, the reels can even expand during the bonuses and features! During the base game, a cascading reels mechanic removes any winning symbols, replacing them with new ones, and it’s also possible to land expanding wilds, which, as the name suggests, expand a wild on a whole reel!

Boxing King

Bringing an entirely different theme into the mix, Boxing King is a 5-reel video slot that throws you into the heart of a championship boxing match! Jili Games clearly went all out here, and we think it’s fair to say the boxing theme has been really well done! Our Conclusion:

Super Ace 2 successfully builds on its predecessor by refining existing mechanics rather than trying to reinvent them. The software provider has done an OK job, but not a great one, we feel. Yes, the layered Wild system, Cascading Reels, and Increasing Multipliers work well together, but for us, there’s just not enough “meat” here to get excited.

Now, if you’re looking for a medium variance slot with steady wins and bonuses that aren’t overly hard to trigger, yes, Super Ace 2 could be worth a spin. However, the gameplay just isn’t that fun, if you ask us, and while the 10,000x maximum win potential does look good, on paper, we don’t really see how it would be possible to get anywhere close to it in reality.

Still, if you like card-inspired slots and want a game that offers a good balance between steady wins and bonus action, then Super Ace 2 could be worth a few spins. The Bonus Buy is also very affordable at just 44x, although, for us, this signifies how poorly it will pay most of the time rather than anything else!
