Gong Gaming Technologies (often referred to as Gong Gaming) is a relatively new casino software provider that launched in 2020. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria and Msida, Malta, Gong Gaming was designed to deliver “premium online slot games.”
Despite its young age, the provider has done a reasonably good job getting its titles out to players, and a partnership with Microgaming allowed its slots to be made available and distributed to gamblers worldwide. Whilst the studio does not have its own website, Gong Gaming is on the Games Global/Microgaming platform, is operational, and continues to push out games.
Without a direct source of information from the developer’s website, we appreciate that it can be hard to find out more about the studio. So, through our Gong Gaming review, we aim to fill you in on all the details surrounding the provider. Oh, and of course, we have free demo slots of their games for you to try whenever you wish.

History & Company Background
Gong Gaming Technologies was founded in 2020 by CEO Dima Farbman, who brought together a small team of seasoned iGaming professionals to launch an exciting new venture in the industry. Initially, the company set up its headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria, Farbman’s home country, and shortly after, they opened an office in Malta, primarily to “leverage the island’s robust regulatory framework and business network.”
From its founding, Gong Gaming’s vision was clear. They wanted to concentrate on developing online slots and only online slots. Unlike many new providers, they took a quality over quantity approach, taking great care to produce games with superb art, solid mathematics, and innovative bonuses and features.

Gong Gaming Product Portfolio
Slots, slots, and more slots, that’s the core of Gong Gaming’s product portfolio. Unlike some providers that offer multiple types of casino games, Gong Gaming has chosen to focus its energy exclusively on online slots. This approach has allowed them to do what they do best, and despite their young age, they already offer a pretty strong lineup of games!
Online Slot Games
All Gong Gaming slots are developed in HTML5, making them instantly playable on any modern device. Below, we’ll look at five of their most popular releases. However, it should be noted that many of the original games from Gong Gaming’s portfolio have now been discontinued due to unknown circumstances.
Skulls Heap
Skulls Heap is one of Gong Gaming’s first major releases, hitting online casinos in early 2021. This game invites you to a colourful Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Mexican-themed slot celebration complete with mariachi skeletons! Now, unlike conventional payline slots, Skulls Heap is designed around a 6-reel, 4-row layout. The game uses 4,096 ways to win! This “all-ways” format means any left-to-right symbol combination results in a win!
The main bonus in the game is a free spins feature, which is triggered by landing three or more scatter symbols anywhere in view. Now, during the free spins, it’s possible to retrigger the bonus, with up to 100 spins in total up for grabs! Wild multipliers also appear, boosting the value of any wins they help to form.
Queen of Treasure
In Queen of Treasure, Gong Gaming takes you on an Egyptian adventure in search of ancient riches! The game’s designed around a familiar 5-reel, 3-row setup, and you’ll find ten fixed paylines in play at all times.
The “Queen of Treasure” resembles a Cleopatra-like figure, and the reels are filled with Egyptian symbols like scarabs, golden ankhs, and pyramids. What’s notable here is the free spins bonus: you can win up to 30 free spins at once, and they can be retriggered an unlimited number of times, too!
During these free spins, a special expanding symbol is chosen. So, yes – this game brings the classic “Book-style” slot mechanic to life! Sure, it’s not the most unique or innovative game in the world, but it’s good to see the provider keeping up with its competitors.
While you may think there are already more than enough “Book of” games, Gong Gaming is just doing what it has to do to stay competitive, and it’s a solid addition to its growing portfolio of games!
Royal League Neptune’s Harem
Perhaps one of Gong Gaming’s most unique titles, Neptune’s Harem combines an undersea theme with localised jackpots! Set in a magical ocean-themed world, the slot uses a 5-reel, 3-row, 20-payline format.
Now, as mentioned, the game introduces the Royal League Jackpots. At any moment in the base game, the Royal League feature can randomly trigger, and when it does, you’ll find yourself taken to a special mini-game where you roll dice on a 7×7 grid of coloured gems to win one of four jackpot prizes. These jackpots are worth 10x, 100x, 1,000x, or 10,000x!
Now, besides the jackpot feature, the game also includes a free spins bonus. Triggered by landing the scatter symbols on reels one and five, once activated, you are given the choice of three different free spin modes. You can basically choose your own volatility level here, opting for fewer spins with a higher starting multiplier, or more spins with a lower starting multiplier.
Royal League Zuma Riches
Staying with the Royal League series, Zuma Riches takes you deep into the jungle in search of Mayan treasures! This slot is a 5-reel, 4-row game with 50 fixed paylines, and, in our opinion, it’s one of Gong Gaming’s best-looking releases. Once loaded, you’ll see jungle waterfalls alongside the reels and stunning Aztec temples in the background!
The game’s symbols include tribal masks, exotic animals, and an explorer. The gameplay is packed with action – aside from base game wins, you’re again chasing the Royal League jackpot feature here. Just like in Neptune’s Harem, any spin in Zuma Riches can trigger the Royal League dice game, where landing on the gold crown can award a jackpot of up to 10,000x!
Moreover, some versions of Zuma Riches include a “Royal Bet” option: an optional side bet that increases your stake slightly in exchange for boosting the chance of the jackpot game triggering. The game also includes a free spins bonus, where symbol transformations come into play!
Viking Queen
Finishing our top five list is Viking Queen, a slot that focuses on a powerful… You guessed it – Viking queen! From the moment you load the slot, you’ll find yourself transported to the high seas, joining the Viking queen leading her army in search of treasures!
The game plays on a traditional five-reel, three-row layout with 25 fixed paylines in play at all times, and while it’s not the provider’s most recent release, it’s a solid-looking game. The low value symbols include playing card values, including 9, 10, jack, queen, king, and ace, and the high value symbols include a bear, a goblet, a wolf, a lynx, and a viking drinking horn!
Now, the game’s main action lies inside the free spins bonus round, which is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Doing so awards you 10 free spins, and landing two or more scatter symbols during the bonus awards additional spins, with up to 50 up for grabs!
Jackpot Slots
Jackpots are a relatively new but important part of Gong Gaming’s offering. While they do not (yet) have giant network progressive jackpots like Mega Moolah or Divine Fortune, Gong Gaming has created a unique jackpot mechanic called “Royal League” featured in several of their slots. The Royal League system effectively turns certain Gong slots into jackpot slots with four fixed prize tiers.
If you play one of their games that uses the Royal League mechanic, like Neptune’s Harem, Zuma Riches, or Spin City Lux, any spin has the potential to randomly trigger a jackpot mini-game. When triggered, the slot screen transforms into a special Royal League bonus game. In most of their titles, you will then see a 7×7 grid of tiles in different colours. A pair of dice then appears, and you need to “roll” the dice by clicking a button, which causes a marker to move across the grid.
The dice outcome determines how many steps you take and in which direction your marker moves. Each colour on the grid corresponds to one of the four jackpot levels, with the highest (usually the Gold) worth a whopping 10,000x!
Table Games, Bingo, and Other Casino Games
Gong Gaming is focused exclusively on slot games, so you won’t find any other casino games in their lineup. For example, if you want to play titles like blackjack, roulette, baccarat, or even games like video poker or bingo, you’ll need to find another provider, with partner studio Microgaming being a good alternative!

Game Mechanics, How They Work, and Unique Features
In this section, we will go through the in-game mechanics you’ll encounter when playing titles across the Gong Gaming catalogue. We have decided to include titles that have currently been discontinued, as Gong may again use these playing formats in the future.
Paylines
Most Gong Gaming slots use traditional fixed paylines, and while this may not appeal to players wanting more modern video slots, there’s no denying that payline-based slots remain incredibly popular with players around the world.
So, what are paylines? Well, they’re specific line patterns across the reels, usually in a horizontal, zig-zag, or diagonal pattern, and matching symbols must land on these to count as a win. Gong Gaming’s payline slots typically offer between 10 and 50 active lines, and most pay left to right only.
Popular Payline Games From Gong Gaming:
- Inferno Gladiator
- Queen of Treasure
- Pirate’s Quest
Ways to Win
Gong Gaming doesn’t shy away from modern ways-to-win setups either, despite paylines being their most common in-game mechanic. Some of their games use a ways-to-win mechanic, a good example of which is Skulls Heap. You’ll find ways-to-win games in several configurations, but the two most popular include 243-ways-to-win and 1024-ways-to-win.
In ways-to-win games, you don’t need to worry about landing symbols on specific paylines. Instead, landing (typically) three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right is enough to form a win, and their position on the reels doesn’t matter!

- Skulls Heap
- Maya U Max
Unique Features from Gong Gaming
Royal League Jackpot System
We’ve discussed this in the jackpot section, but it deserves a spot here, too, as it’s one of Gong Gaming’s best innovations in our opinion! The Royal League is Gong Gaming’s branded jackpot mini-game that can be embedded into different slots.
The jackpot system remains almost identical in each game it’s rolled out in, but Gong Gaming does tweak the bonus round slightly to ensure that it fits each game’s story. The provider has ensured this feature is well-designed by making the dice-roll game interactive and engaging, not just a random wheel spin or something similar, and we feel it’s a shame it’s not more popular, as it’s a fantastic mechanic in our opinion!
Genius Genome
On the more technical side, Gong Gaming has invested in the “Genius Genome” – an internal software platform designed to help with game development. This isn’t something players see directly, but it’s a unique tool – and it is, essentially, a framework or engine that the developers use to build new slots more efficiently. It allows for “rapid prototyping of game ideas and supports a lot of modular features that can be mixed and matched.”
For example, if Gong Gaming is happy with a free spins mechanic they’ve already created, the Genome platform lets them implement it in the next game without starting from scratch. This means Gong can produce new games at a faster pace while maintaining high quality, because the heavy lifting (like physics of reels, random number integration, etc.) is handled by this game engine.
Of course, their Genius Genome isn’t (as far as we know) available to any other game developers, besides, perhaps, Microgaming, but it’s cool to see, and shows that Gong Gaming isn’t just here to produce boring, cookie-cutter games!

Licensing & Regulation
Now, when it comes to licensing, things get a little bit murky with Gong Gaming. A quick Google search of Gong Gaming’s name will bring up a plethora of results claiming they hold United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) gaming licenses, but when we checked both public registers, we found no mention of Gong Gaming.
Things are, of course, made more complicated by the fact that Gong Gaming doesn’t appear to currently have an active website, and it’s unclear whether they’ve ever had a live platform featuring company information, etc. Of course, the lack of a website means it’s impossible to check the software provider’s official site for licensing information, so, for now, we have to assume they don’t currently hold any online gambling licenses.
So, how do they offer their games to online casinos around the world, including UK-focused ones? Well, the answer lies in their partnership agreements – primarily with Microgaming. You see, when a game developer partners with a game aggregator like Microgaming, it’s not just games they share.
In some cases, software providers can piggyback on the aggregator’s gaming license, too. So, provided the game is tested and certified (which Gong Gaming’s titles are), it can be offered on Microgaming’s Quickfire platform even if it doesn’t hold a license!
Fair Play & Security
Every Gong Gaming slot undergoes independent certification before it’s released, and this is a requirement for their games to be offered to online casinos. Now, while Gong Gaming doesn’t publicly reveal which testing house it uses to certify its games, it likely uses iTech Labs, eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), or GLI (Gaming Laboratories International), three of the world’s leading testing houses.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Gong Gaming may be a small studio, but it has managed to enter into some pretty powerful partnerships, with its collaboration with Microgaming being the most impactful.
In April 2021, Microgaming brought Gong Gaming on board as an “exclusive studio partner.” This means Gong’s new games would be distributed exclusively via Microgaming’s platform (at least initially), and this was a massive move for Gong Gaming: it instantly gave them access to Microgaming’s vast network of online casinos (hundreds of casino brands worldwide use the Microgaming/Quickfire content platform, and this means a player at a casino that offers Microgaming slots could suddenly find Gong Gaming’s titles appearing in the library.
This kind of deal is mutually beneficial: Microgaming gets fresh content to offer its operators, and Gong Gaming gets the reach of a global iGaming platform. In 2022, Games Global, a new company, took over Microgaming’s distribution business, but all of the exclusive partner studios, including Gong Gaming, now release their titles through Games Global’s network.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a relatively new company, Gong Gaming is still building its actual business, which means corporate social responsibility initiatives are probably not a priority right now. However, Microgaming, the platform they exclusively create games for, does do a lot of CSR work, particularly in the Isle of Man, where it is headquartered.

Final Summary
Gong Gaming may not be one of the best-known iGaming providers in the world, but for a company founded in 2020, they’ve done a pretty impressive job of building their resume so far. However, removing a vast portion of their games and a lack of transparency isn’t ideal, and we hope the studio will correct this soon.
