Debuting in 2023, DreamSpin is one of the newest boutique game studios in the online gambling industry. Despite its youth, this developer has quickly gained attention for its unique background and creative approach, although at present, they’ve only got a small collection of games for their fanbase to enjoy.
DreamSpin was founded by a team of well-known slot streamers and casino content creators, and while we have seen collaborations between streamers and game developers in the past, DreamSpin was the first studio that was founded exclusively by streamers.
The ambitious team behind the studio are entering the market at a time when it’s more crowded than ever, and they’ve got a lot of work to do if they want to be able to capture a decent segment of the market, but how are they doing so far? What’s the background and history of the studio? And what games do they make? Learn all you need to know in our DreamSpin review, where we’ll answer all of your questions and provide you with a free demo slot version of their games to try for yourself.

History & Company Background
DreamSpin was established in 2023 as a collaboration between two pretty big UK-based slot streaming brands: Fruity Slots and Hideous Slots. The founders, including Josh Green, William Barnes, and Jamie Rosen, were all popular online casino streamers themselves, and they also operated affiliate sites before they decided to go ahead and form their own iGaming studio.
Based in the United Kingdom (with some operations in other markets like Sweden), DreamSpin set out with a clear vision: use their deep understanding of player tastes and casino games to create slots that they themselves would want to play. It’s a pretty unique approach, and one that we (surprisingly) haven’t seen before.
According to their mission statement, the studio aims to “promote individuality through its games” and deliver innovation while maintaining fairness and transparency, but other than that, it’s clear that, despite launching two years ago, the studio is very much still in its infancy. Their website doesn’t offer a huge amount of information, aside from some blog posts and interviews, and as of yet, they don’t even have an About Us page!
However, the studio has seen some success. In mid-2023, before they’d even launched their first game, for example, DreamSpin secured a partnership with Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming platform to distribute its future slots around the world.
Key Milestones, Timeline & Awards
2023: DreamSpin Studios is founded by the Fruity Slots and Hideous Slots team. The launch marks the first time iGaming streamers have launched their own development studio. Soon after launching, the studio announced a distribution deal with Light & Wonder, joining the OpenGaming platform.
2024: DreamSpin releases its first slot game, Buzz Thrill, after over a year of development and testing. The game initially goes live as an exclusive on Sky Betting & Gaming.
2024: DreamSpin demo slots are added to the demoslot.com platform.
2025: DreamSpin joins the Yggdrasil YG Masters programme in March, a partnership that will enable the studio to distribute games through Yggdrasil’s partner network. Around the same time, DreamSpin released its second slot, Smash Street Wilds, in April 2025.
Highest RTP Dream Spin Studios Slots
Whilst DreamSpin may be a relatively new gaming studio with a limited amount of slots to play, we still suggest you choose to play their titles which have the highest return to player percentage. This, in theory, will give you more playing time for your deposits and therefore increase your chances of hitting a bonus round or feature where the potential to win bigger prizes increases.
| Slot Name | RTP |
|---|---|
| 1. Buzz Thrill | 95.98% |
| 2. Backstreet Wilds | 95.50% |
| 3. Wizards of Wildwood | 94.00% |
DreamSpin Product Portfolio
DreamSpin’s portfolio is currently very small, consisting of just a handful of games! However, the game developer has made it clear they’re working on more titles, and below, we’ll explore the slots they’ve released so far.
Online Slot Games
Buzz Thrill
Buzz Thrill was DreamSpin’s first release, and while (as the name suggests) it’s based around a beehive theme, there’s quite a twist to be found, as the reels are set against a futuristic alien landscape. Symbols include astronaut bees, honeycomb spacecraft, and jar-like bonus icons, all rendered in a colourful, cartoonish style.
To give credit where it’s due, Buzz Thrill is a pretty decent-looking slot, and it uses an all-ways “ways to win” system rather than traditional paylines. The reel grid starts in a unique 2-3-4-4-3-2 configuration, and this provides 576 ways to win on each spin. Whenever a win occurs, a respin feature is triggered. Each time a re-spin is awarded, the reel grid expands, eventually reaching up to a 6×6 layout! Here, you’ll find 46,656 ways to win!
Buzz Thrill also boasts several bonus features, which seems to be DreamSpin’s attempt to bring the most popular mechanics from other slots together. The first is the Mystery Door symbol mechanic. When these symbols land on the reels, all symbols transform into either Wilds or special Coin symbols. Any coins in view reveal instant win prizes worth up to 500x!
The game’s main bonus round, a free spins feature, is triggered by landing three scatter symbols anywhere in view. During the free spins bonus, one symbol is randomly chosen to become an Expanding Special Symbol (similar to the classic “Book of” slot mechanic). Whenever this chosen symbol lands, it can expand to fill its reel if a win is possible. Additionally, special Expanding Coins come into play in free spins. These coin symbols can expand to cover entire reels, up to four reels at once!
Buzz Wilds boasts a slightly below-average RTP of 95.25%, but that’s not too bad for a new software provider like DreamSpin. We were, however, surprised to find that the game’s maximum win potential is just 5,000x. That seems pretty low, especially for a slot designed by streamers who’re notorious for finding games that offer high levels of win potential.
Smash Street Wilds
The second release from DreamSpin, Smash Street Wilds, does away with the outer space theme, instead placing you in the dimly lit streets of a city! The game has some loose resemblance to a traditional fruit machine, but instead of the normal-looking cherries and fruit symbols, you’ll find, instead, bruised, angry-looking fruits!
The symbols include scowling strawberries, rotten oranges, sinister plums, and more, and the game’s set in a dingy urban alley behind a grocery store! It’s a good-looking slot, that’s for sure, and it’s designed around a 6-reel, 5-row layout with just 15 fixed paylines.
Now, the first feature to be aware of is the walking wild. When certain wild symbols land in view, they become ‘walking wilds’, shifting left or right while a re-spin is awarded. Then there are random multipliers. On any spin, wild symbols can appear with a multiplier value of between 2x and 5x.
Next, there’s the Bonus Trail, one of the game’s core features. During the base game, whenever 2 or more scatter symbols land, this feature activates, and you’ll find yourself moved along a trail that unlocks various modifiers. If you land three scatter symbols, you’ll trigger the main free spins bonus, and here, you can have up to three special modifiers active at once!
Jackpot Slots
Given DreamSpin’s very young age and with just a small number of releases to date, it should come as no surprise that they don’t offer any progressive jackpots. While both of their partner studios, Light & Wonder and Yggdrasil Gaming, do offer pooled jackpot networks, we’d be surprised to see DreamSpin incorporating jackpots into their games any time soon, although, of course, we could be wrong!
Table Games, Bingo & Other Casino Games
As above with the progressive jackpots, DreamSpin also don’t currently offer any casino table games or live tables. We’d be surprised (again) if this were to change, and DreamSpin has made it pretty clear that they’re focused on slots.

Game Mechanics, How They Work & Unique Features
In this section of our review, we’ll take a more detailed look at the in-game mechanics and features used with the DreamSpin game catalogue and explain to you how each of these works.
Paylines
Paylines are the classic slot mechanic where winning combinations must fall on specific predetermined lines, and these usually run across the reels. Each payline is a pattern that covers one position on each reel. To win on a payline game, you need to match symbols on the same payline and on consecutive reels, typically starting from the leftmost reel.
Now, traditional slot machines (the kind you’d find in old Vegas casinos) often had just one payline, but today, video slots often have 10… 20… even 50+ paylines! Some games allow you to choose how many paylines to play, too, although this has gotten less common over the years.

Ways to Win
Ways to Win, sometimes also known as all-ways-pays, is another popular slot mechanic that does away with fixed paylines. Instead, any time you land matching symbols on consecutive reels, regardless of their position on each reel, it counts as a win! In other words, every possible left-to-right combination is active.
Now, the number of “ways” is determined by multiplying the number of symbol positions on each reel. For instance, a slot with a standard 5×3 layout (5 reels, 3 rows each) will usually have 243 ways to win, but, as you’d expect, if a game offers varying rows or reels that can expand, the number of ways to win can increase significantly.
The main advantage of ways-to-win games is that you just need to focus on reels, not specific lines: if the symbols appear anywhere in each reel in sequence, you’ll win!

Bonus Buy
The feature buy option is now a staple part of any online slot provider’s armoury, and DreamSpin has made sure this mechanic is available in the games. Typically, the price for entering the feature can vary, but you will generally need to pay around 100 times your bet to access this bonus.
DreamSpin Unique Features
Player-to-Streamer Feedback
One of the most distinctive aspects of DreamSpin’s approach to game development is its player-to-streamer feedback. Since the studio was founded by some of the most popular slot streamers in the UK, Fruity Slots and Hideous Slots, the team has a built-in advantage when it comes to understanding what players actually want from a slot game.
For example, DreamSpin uses its direct connection with players through live streams, social media, and forums to gather real-time feedback on game features, volatility levels, bonus mechanics, and overall player experience, and this allows them to do product testing, essentially in real time. You can see it in their two releases so far; for example, they’ve packed in pretty much all of the most common bonus mechanics and designed the layout of the games accordingly, too.
DreamBet
DreamBet is an optional side bet that has made an appearance in both of DreamSpin’s current releases, and it’s something we’re seeing in a lot of online slots at the moment. Essentially, this optional side bet allows you to increase the size of your base game stake, and, in return, you have a higher chance of triggering the game’s bonuses and features.

Our Conclusion:
Wizards of Wildwood is Dream Spin’s most ambitious release so far, and it’s a feature-packed 7x7 cluster pays slot with quite a lot going on. From the increasing cell multipliers to the four modifiers + a free spins round, it does feel like Dream Spin knows what players want: plenty of action and features that can pay.
Still, there's nothing really new or innovative here. The theme works, but is a little lackluster, we feel, and the mechanics, while plentiful and exciting, still aren’t the most unique or original in the world. The RTP is also well below-average at 94%, which is likely to turn away serious players.
However, for players who enjoy high-action cluster slots with progressive features, Wizards of Wildwood is a decent-looking game; we just wish the RTP wasn’t so low, as 94%, we feel, is just cutting it too fine in today’s iGaming world.

Our Conclusion:
Dream Spin had an awesome debut release with their Buzz Thrill slot, so I was eager to see what the studio had in store for us in their second outing. Titled Smash Steet Wilds, players are greeted to the game by some interesting-looking fruit characters who, it would appear, spend their spare time spraying and tagging up the local neighbour.
Asbo fruits aside, the gameplay takes a few spins to get used to the paylines, where only 15 are active with a 6x5 matrix in play, so it's best to head to the help section to see which lines win and which ones are misses. Then we have a bonus trail active, awarding more power features for each scatter symbol that lands, random wilds that can appear at the end of each spin with multipliers of up to 5x, and a free spins bonus where up to 3 enhancers can be active.
Summing up, Smash Street Wilds is a good follow-up to Buzz Thrill and will likely be a popular release with the growing communities of Fruity Slots & Hideous Slots. Personally, of the two slots to date, I preferred their debut game, but for such a young studio in a competitive industry, there's plenty of good work that has gone into this game, and you'd imagine that generally, the slot will be well received across the industry.

Our Conclusion:
I can remember seeing the streams from the early days of Fruity Slots, so to now be reviewing one of their own game creations is quite surreal and shows how far they have come in such a short space of time, which they deserve a lot of credit for.
But how does Buzz Thrill shape up? I'd say it is a very solid first effort from Dream Spin. Yes, there are elements of AvatarUX's PopWins mechanic in the game and perhaps a twist of Push Gaming's mystery coin symbols, too, so whilst we might not be witnessing anything new in terms of mechanics and features, you still have to appreciate the hard work that has gone into putting the slot together and the excellent design behind it.
Overall, I think we can say Buzz Thrill will tick the box of many online slot fans, and it's going to be an interesting time ahead to see what Dream Spin come up with in the future, especially when they inevitably dabble in creating their own mechanics.
Commitment To Player Safety & Fairness
Licensing & Regulation
Although DreamSpin itself is UK-based, they leveraged their partnership with Light & Wonder to distribute Buzz Thrill on a licensed platform. Similarly, joining Yggdrasil’s Masters programme means future DreamSpin releases will be distributed under Yggdrasil’s licenses, which automatically cover many European regulated markets.
What this means in reality is that DreamSpin doesn’t hold any online gambling licenses themselves, so you won’t find them directly regulated or licensed by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) or the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Instead, they “piggyback” on the license from Light & Wonder and Yggdrasil Gaming, and this is common for many smaller studios, as it prevents them from needing to go through long, expensive licensing processes.
Fair Play & Security
We think it’s fair to say that DreamSpin’s website isn’t the most informative, and, as a result, they don’t offer any info about how their games are tested and certified, and it’s unclear which testing house they use.
However, given their partnerships with Light & Wonder and Yggdrasil Gaming, their games definitely will be fair and certified, and it’s likely they use a testing house like eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), BMM (BMM Testlabs), or GLI (Gaming Laboratories International), three of the world’s industry leaders.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Despite its short history, DreamSpin has actually done a pretty good job when it comes to partnerships and collaborations, and there are two main aggregator partnerships that have allowed the studio’s games to be pushed out to a large number of operators.
DreamSpin’s first major partnership was with Light & Wonder (formerly SG Digital), one of the industry’s leading content aggregators. Announced just a couple of months after the studio first launched, in 2023, this collaboration enabled DreamSpin to launch its games via the OpenGaming platform. For a brand-new studio, this was a very impressive head start, and it’s very unusual to see Light & Wonder working with such a new developer!
A few years later, in March 2025, Dreamspin announced their second partnership, with Yggdrasil Gaming’s YG Masters programme. This platform is an invite-only partnership designed to help smaller studios build and distribute games using Yggdrasil’s GATI technology. This allows DreamSpin to launch games across Yggdrasil’s extensive network of operators, and it might, in the future, also allow DreamSpin to incorporate Yggdrasil’s proprietary mechanics like Gigablox, Splitz, and MultiMax into its titles.
On the operator side of things, DreamSpin has also been fairly successful. Their first slot release, for example, Buzz Thrill, launched exclusively with Sky Betting & Gaming, which includes Sky Vegas, and this kind of exclusive debut is unusual for a new studio, especially on a platform as large as Sky. It allowed DreamSpin’s initial release to reach UK players, and this exclusive release is something we expect to see with their future titles, too.
Corporate Social Responsibility
The founders of DreamSpin came from a streaming background where interacting responsibly with players is a large part of their day-to-day life, and, on the whole, they are fairly proactive with responsible gambling, warning viewers about the dangers of gambling and providing links to responsible gambling charities.
Their games also contain a number of responsible gambling tools, although it should be noted that this isn’t necessarily due to their love for promoting responsible gambling, but rather the fact that it’s a requirement for the games to be offered in certain regions and jurisdictions.

Final Summary
DreamSpin may be one of the newest game developers out there in the iGaming world, but to be fair to them, in a pretty short space of time, this streamer-founded studio has managed to produce some fairly good games to date, packed with bonuses and offering, clearly, what players increasingly want to see from an online slot.
While we are quite surprised at the relatively low win potential (5,000x) found in their games, this may be more to suit the needs of the online casino operators the games will be pushed out to, as we can’t really see a reason why the streamers/providers would want to set the maximum win potential in their games so low.
However, this is a fairly minor criticism, and what can’t be denied is the impressive partnerships DreamSpins has managed to form. Both Light & Wonder and Yggdrasil Gaming are major players in the online gambling industry, and it’s virtually unheard of for a brand-new studio to partner with big-name aggregators like this. So, while they currently only offer a small selection of games, and future releases could do with higher win potential, the studio looks like it’s headed in the right direction!
