History & Company Background
Founded in 2023 by Andre Villanberg, Bullshark’s journey started in 2023 when the provider formed a unique partnership with Hacksaw Gaming. By joining Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform, Bullshark was able to develop and launch games quickly while instantly meeting all regulatory requirements. This early partnership also allowed Bullshark access to one of the world’s largest distribution networks.
The studio’s first slot release was Mafia Clash, which came out in November 2023, and by the end of 2024, Bullshark had released a range of titles exploring everything from martial arts to fantasy and even a post-apocalyptic junkyard realm!
In an interview, Villandberg said the team’s goal is to “introduce new and exciting mechanics” with every release rather than churning out as many games as possible. He also goes on to state that he personally play-tests each game for 10,000–20,000 spins before launch, fine-tuning the gameplay until it “feels right”!

Bullshark Games Product Portfolio
It’s still only the early stages of Bullshark Games venture into iGaming, so currently, the studio has spent its time focusing solely on the online slot space. However, with partner studio Hacksaw Gaming creating content in the casino games space, there is a chance that Bullshark could follow the same path, although it seems likely they will stick to what they know best and continue to develop slot games exclusively.
Online Slot Games
While Bullshark’s collection of games is still relatively small compared to the more established providers, they’ve managed to cover a wide range of genres. Below, we’ll look at five of their most popular games.
Junkyard Kings
Junkyard Kings is one of Bullshark’s signature titles and a fan-favourite cluster slot. This game transports you to a post-apocalyptic scrapyard ruled by a group of… rats! It’s a pretty unique setting, and the slot definitely differs from the kind of theme you’re probably used to seeing in the iGaming world! Now, the action unfolds on a 7×7 grid with cluster pays, meaning wins are achieved by landing groups of 5 or more matching symbols adjacent (horizontally or vertically).
Thanks to the cluster mechanic, Junkyard Kings also uses cascading reels – winning symbols explode, and new ones fall in, allowing multiple wins in a single spin. Clusters in the base game can award up to 500x! There are also four different wild symbols that can appear, each with its own effect. Plus, there’s a cool feature called Increasing Cell Multipliers. Every time a symbol is part of a win, it increases a multiplier on that grid cell by +1. These cell-specific multipliers can build up to 100x and multiply any future win in that same spot.
Now, during the free spins bonus (known as the Junkyard Scavenger Spins), these cell multipliers do not reset between cascades, meaning they can grow massive, and this is where the game’s real win potential lies! There’s also a bonus buy option which lets you buy directly into the free spins bonus or buy special modifier spins.
Holy Heist
Another pretty successful game from Bullshark is Holy Heist, a 5-reel slot that puts you in the middle of a comical bank robbery carried out by a crew of criminals… dressed as nuns! This game, while unofficial, was actually inspired by the classic movie Nuns on the Run, and it’s designed around a 5×4 layout with 14 fixed paylines – an unusual number.
The game’s most notable mechanic is the Reel Multiplier Bar, which sits above the reels. At the start of each spin (or respin), each of the five reels is assigned a multiplier value (for example, x2, x2, x3, x3, x5 in the base game). These come into play whenever a wild symbol lands and reveals a number – that reel’s multiplier is then added to a total win multiplier for the spin. Essentially, wilds “collect” the reel multipliers, which then multiply any wins for that spin.
You’ll also find a mixture of wild symbols in the game: some are expanding wilds that fill entire reels, while others are sticky, that trigger a re-spin and lock in place. This means a single spin can cascade into several respins with increasing multipliers. Holy Heist also features a free spins bonus that starts you off with 6-8 spins. During the bonus, reel multipliers can increase progressively on each spin, and any wild symbols that land become sticky for the duration of the feature!
Merlin’s Mania
Bullshark Games first entered the world of magic-themed slots with Merlin’s Alchemy in early 2024 and later followed the release with Merlin’s Mania, a sequel slot that offers a number of improvements on the original. Both games centre on the legendary wizard Merlin, but Merlin’s Mania is designed around a more complex layout where you’ll find scatter pays introduced. It’s played on a 6-reel, 5-row grid with no traditional paylines; instead, you form a win any time you land at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the grid.
Now, on each spin, anywhere from two to 30 mystery symbols can land on the grid, and these symbols then reveal one of a few things. They might all transform into a regular paying symbol or reveal a special wild symbol. There are two unique wilds in Merlin’s Mania: The Adder Wild, which, when revealed, will immediately increase the global multiplier by 1x to 100x, and then you’ve got the Activator Wild, which applies the current global multiplier to any wins that it helps to form.
In the base game, the global multiplier resets with each new spin, but during the free spins, it locks, becoming progressive for the duration of the feature. And speaking of free spins, there are actually two levels. Wizard’s Favour, triggered by landing three scatter symbols, awards you 8 free spins and a global starting multiplier of 1x, and Merlin’s Insanity, triggered by landing four scatter symbols, awards you ten spins with a 5x starting multiplier.
Piggy Cluster Hunt
For a change of pace, Piggy Cluster Hunt offers a more laid-back slotting experience, although again, like many of Bullshark’s games, it does away with conventional mechanics, using a 7×7 cluster-pay layout. Landing clusters of five or more symbols anywhere in view triggers a win, and winning symbols are removed from the reels, with new ones dropping down to take their place.
Now, things get exciting when multipliers and exploding wilds come into play. Above the grid is a progressive win multiplier bar with three slots. On every spin, between 0 to 3 multiplier values will appear at the top of the screen. When you hit a cluster win, the first multiplier is applied to that win.
If cascades continue, the second multiplier (if present) is combined (either added or multiplied with the first), applied to the next win, and then the third for subsequent wins. In other words, the multipliers keep stacking up as you keep hitting consecutive wins!
You’ll also find Exploding Barrels in the base. Randomly, explosive barrel symbols can land and blow up, turning surrounding symbols into wilds or removing a cluster of symbols to trigger cascades. Finally, there’s the free spins bonus, which awards you a set number of spins with an increasing progressive multiplier! And, like most Bullshark games, Piggy Cluster Hunt offers a bonus buy option, allowing you to instantly buy the free spins bonus round.
Pickle Bandits
Rounding out our selection is Pickle Bandits, which showcases the studio’s ability to create fun, engaging slots, even when the theme may seem familiar and overdone. As the name suggests, the star of this game is a bandit who is literally a pickle, and this unusual-looking character is designed with a cartoon look and feel!
The game’s setting is a Wild West town, and while we’ve seen many Western-themed slots before, it’s pretty rare to see any with this level of personality! The game uses a 5×4 layout, and, once again, there’s an unusual 14 paylines. The game has cascading reels, so each time you land a win, those symbols disappear, and new ones drop down to take their place.
Now, like some of Bullshark’s other titles, much of the gameplay centres around mystery symbols and a global multiplier. The mystery symbols appear as wanted posters on the reels. When they land, they all transform into the same random symbol, which could be a regular paying symbol or one of two special symbols: If a mystery symbol reveals a multiplier wild, it adds a multiplier, and if it reveals a standard wild, it substitutes as usual.
Pickle Bandits also has a free spins bonus. During the feature, additional mystery symbols are added to the reels. Any multipliers you manage to land, then stick, adding to a global multiplier tally and staying there for the duration of the feature.
Jackpot Slots
Currently, Bullshark Games does not offer any progressive jackpot slots in its portfolio. The studio’s focus so far has been on games with fixed maximum win limits, and while you won’t find the seven-figure jackpots offered by some game developers, several of their games offer max win caps of between 10,000x-20,000x, so their titles still offer plenty of chances to hit big!
Table Games, Bingo, and Other Casino Games
Bullshark Games is currently focused on developing slot games. The provider does not offer classic table games like blackjack, roulette, or baccarat, nor do they have video poker, bingo, keno, or arcade/fishing games.
While some may see this as a downside, we should point out that this isn’t unusual for a newer studio. Many smaller providers start by specialising in slots, where there’s a lot of room for creative themes and mechanics, leaving the table games for larger, more established studios!

Game Mechanics, How They Work, and Unique Features
There are a number of mechanics used in Bullshark Games titles, providing players with hours of entertainment across their game portfolio. In this section, we’ll explore in more detail what these are and how they work.
Paylines
Paylines are the most traditional slot mechanic, where winning combinations must land on active lines across the reels – usually from left to right. For example, if you’re playing a video slot with five reels, three rows, and 20 paylines, it means there are 20 specific “patterns” on which landing 3+ symbols will form a win.
Popular Payline Slots From Bullshark Games:
- Wild Dojo Strike
- Pickle Bandits
- Holy Heist
Cluster Pays
Cluster Pays is a more modern mechanic in which symbols pay in groups (clusters) anywhere on the grid rather than along set lines. Usually, a cluster is formed when five or six matching symbols land and are adjacent vertically or horizontally. In many cluster pays games, when a win is formed, the symbols disappear, too, with new ones dropping down to take their place.
Popular Cluster Pays Slots From Bullshark Games:
- Junkyard Kings
- Piggy Cluster Hunt
- Coop Cash
Scatter Pays
In this context, scatter pays refers to slots where you don’t need symbols to land adjacent to or on a payline! Instead, landing a specific number of matching symbols (in accordance with the paytable) anywhere on the screen is enough to award a win! Generally, scatter pays games, or grid slots, require you to land six or more matching symbols to form a win.
Popular Scatter Pays Slots From Bullshark Games:
- Merlin’s Alchemy
- Merlin’s Mania
- Clover Club
Unique Features from Bullshark Games
Multi-Tier Feature Buy
Many slot providers have incorporated bonus buy mechanics into their slots over the past few years, but Bullshark takes it one step further (along with Hacksaw Gaming) by offering multiple bonus buy and feature spins options. This allows you to buy everything from the main bonus round to a super bonus or even modified base game spins! Holy Heist, for example, offers five different buy options ranging from 3x your bet for extra scatter symbols on the reels to 200x for the top free spins bonus!

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Irish-themed online slots have long been in the oversaturated category, but every now and again, a release comes along that grabs your attention and is generally a great game to play. That's how I felt about Clover Club from Bullshark Games, and whilst it does have many familiar features, as seen in other scatter pays games, it's entertaining enough for you to forget about that and enjoy what it has to offer.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Egyptian slots often fall short of the mark, but I like what Bullshark Games has done with their Age of Seth slot. Granted, they have, it would seem, borrowed some ideas from the Play'n GO slot Reactoonz and Pragmatic Play's Gem Bonanza, but there are enough extra additions from the provider to make this very much their own game and one that I enjoyed playing.
Take our free demo slot for a spin and see what you think, but I've got a feeling you'll end up playing this for far longer than you initially expected, just like me.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
Bullride Loot is another fairly decent release from Bullshark Games and Hacksaw Gaming’s ongoing partnership, and it’s a fast-paced, highway-themed slot that delivers what fans of the studio have come to expect: volatile gameplay, solid visuals, and an impressive maximum win potential of 20,000x.
We like the Lucky Chest mechanic, as it adds a decent degree of unpredictability to the base game, while the two different free spins modes keep things exciting bonus-wise. Now, interestingly, despite an impressive maximum win potential of 20,000x, it’s clear the Carno Carnage spins aren’t a “hidden” or “super” bonus, as such, given they cost “only” 250x to buy, and we imagine this makes it more likely that they’ll land naturally.
Of course, the game isn’t exactly groundbreaking. The core gameplay feels familiar, and much like Bullshark’s earlier titles, it leans heavily on Hacksaw’s well-established slots formula rather than doing much in the way of creating its own identity. Still, with crisp presentation, decent maximum win potential, and some interesting bonuses and features, it’s worth a play; no arguments there!

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion:
We've said it before here at Demoslot, but of all the game providers on Hacksaw's RGS platform, Bullshark Games are head and shoulders above everybody else. They continue to make engaging slots with fun features, as seen again here in Arena of Iron, and the presentation of their titles is fantastic and far superior to any of the other studios on the platform.
To sum up, it's another great release from Bullshark and one, in my opinion, you should certainly give a try.

Demo & Review
Our Conclusion: The last time I reviewed a Bullshark Games release, I was slightly harsh, particularly when I criticised the small grid area, which turned out to be my fault for being a tech biff and not rotating my mobile device to landscape. So, I went into this review with a renewed sense of optimism and a correctly orientated device, where I discovered a very solid slot in Piggy Cluster Hunt. There are a couple of minor improvements that I’d recommend, such as a tweak to the second version of the bonus buy game, where the extra feature of a guaranteed minimum 5x multiplier does not go far enough for my liking. However, the theme and visuals are great, the exploding wild and progressive multiplier system adds a lot of entertainment value, and the RTP and max win potential are strong enough to please most players. All those things considered, I think this is a very good effort that many people will enjoy.
Commitment to Player Safety and Fairness
Licensing & Regulation
Interestingly, Bullshark has chosen to work solely as a developer, leaving the distribution and, thus, licensing responsibilities to its partner, Hacksaw Gaming. This means that Bullshark’s games must still be tested and certified, but the provider doesn’t need a license, as it “piggybacks” on Hacksaw’s. We’ll likely see this change as the provider continues to grow, especially if they want their games to enter some of the more tightly regulated markets.
Fair Play & Security
Every Bullshark Games slot has to be certified and thoroughly tested before it can be pushed out via aggregation networks. While the software provider doesn’t reveal which testing house they use on their site, it’s likely eCogra, the same company as partner studio Hacksaw Gaming.
These testing companies ensure the games are fair and that each spin outcome is random and cannot be influenced externally. The certification process also checks that the game cannot be manipulated or cheated, both by players and operators.
Partnerships & Collaborations
In 2023, Bullshark became the second partner studio to join Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform. This instantly allowed their games to be distributed via Hacksaw’s aggregator platform, with which hundreds of casinos work. For a near-brand-new software provider, this was a pretty major step for Bullshark. In addition to OpenRGS, Bullshark has also entered into agreements with other aggregators, including Timeless.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a newer company, Bullshark Games is still focused on making itself successful, so corporate social responsibility initiatives are something that will likely come later down the line. However, their games are designed with responsible gambling in mind, and you’ll find a few built-in tools, including Reality Checks and Loss/Win Limits.

Final Summary
Despite being one of the newer studios on the iGaming scene, Bullshark Games has enjoyed remarkable success in such a short period of time. We like how their games look, and it’s clear their team has put a lot of effort into both the design of their releases and the in-game mechanics. It might still be early days for the studio, but we’re excited to see what the provider is capable of and expect them to release some entertaining games and top titles in the industry over the coming years if they continue on the same trajectory.
