History & Company Background

BNG, initially launched as Booongo in 2015, entered the online gambling industry with a focus on delivering high-definition video slots. Operating under a Curacao license from 2017, the studio was pretty quick to establish a reputation for itself, especially on crypto-focused casinos which were still growing at the time.

Over the years, BNG has expanded its global footprint by setting up offices in Ukraine, Venezuela, and Vietnam. This allows the company to have a presence in pretty much all areas of the world and has enabled the company to tap into diverse markets.

Now, in 2021, the company underwent a pretty significant transformation, and this resulted in the creation of two different companies: BNG and 3 Oaks Gaming. BNG continued to operate under its Curacao license, while 3 Oaks Gaming was established independently, receiving a number of its own iGaming licenses, in more regulated jurisdictions like the UK and Malta.

The rebranding allowed both companies to better specialise in specific markets, and BNG was able to continue producing high-quality, cross-platform slot games. Shortly after the rebrand, BNG had its random number generator (RNG) certified by iTech Labs.

Highest RTP BNG Slots

Regardless of the game provider, when choosing a new online slot to play, many gamblers aim to seek out the slots which offer the highest return to player percentage. Better known as RTP, the figure represents the value (as a percentage) you can expect to receive back from a game over a long period of time, often determined by billions of simulated spins.

While some may find it irrelevant during a short playing session, we always recommend that players choose titles with the best returns to enhance their chances of winning and triggering bonus features. Theoretically, this means you will receive more spins for your deposits, resulting in a greater likelihood of hitting bonuses.

If you’re interested in the BNG slot games that offer the best RTPs, we have provided a helpful table below for you to use.

BNG’s Product Portfolio

BNG focuses exclusively on slots, all of which are designed and developed in HTML5. They offer a wide variety of games, from classic 3×3 setups to more modern creations, and below, we’re going to explore five of their most popular releases with players.

Online Slot Games

Goddess of Egypt

Goddess of Egypt transports you to a mystical realm ruled by ancient gods and powerful multipliers. It’s a 6×5 cascading slot, and rather than relying on conventional paylines, it uses a Pay Anywhere (scatter pays) mechanic, so you form wins by landing eight or more matching symbols anywhere in view!

Once you begin spinning, you’ll notice that the slot uses a cascading reels mechanic, with all winning symbols removed from the reels and new ones dropping down to take their places.

You’ll also see special multiplier symbols in the base game and bonus round. These carry multipliers worth between 2x and 500x. When they land, their values are accumulated and then applied to the total win for that spin. There’s also a free spins bonus round (triggered by landing four or more scatter symbols in view), during which the multipliers do not reset between spins!

Power Sun

Power Sun is BNG’s take on the classic fruit machine, and it’s a pretty decent blend of nostalgic fruit symbols with some more modern bonuses and features. The game’s designed around a 3×3 layout, and while it might look quite simple, there’s actually a surprisingly large amount of action to look out for!

Firstly, you’ll want to look out for the Collect symbol on the middle reel. When it lands, it gathers the value of any visible Coin Bonus symbols, awarding you the value displayed on them. Now, if the Collect symbol lands with two Bonus symbols, you’ll trigger the main bonus round, and here, you begin with three re-spins.

During these re-spins, only the Bonus and Collect symbols can land, and you can also land three jackpot values here: Mini, Minor, and Major, allowing you to win up to 3,000x your stake!

3 Aztec Temples

In 3 Aztec Temples, you’ll find yourself transported to ancient jungles in search of lost treasures, and the slot’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout with 25 fixed paylines. True, there’s not a huge amount of action in the base game, but if you land six of the coin bonus scatter symbols, you’ll trigger the Hold and Win feature.

That’s not all: you also collect red, blue and green symbols that light up three temple metres above the reels. Fill a metre, and you’ll unlock a bonus modifier, which is then carried through to the Hold and Win feature! There’s also a Super Bonus Game which can be purchased through the bonus buy option, and this allows you to trigger the Hold and Win feature with all three of the modifiers active!

Coin Lamp

Coin Lamp takes you on a magic carpet ride under starry Arabian skies, and it’s a great-looking game, in our opinion! The slot’s designed around a five-reel, three-row layout, and the game’s main attraction is the bonus round which is triggered by landing four scatters in view. Once triggered, you enter a respin round, collecting Coin BONUS symbols while hoping to land COLLECT symbols that gather all visible values.

During the bonus round, you can also land a mystery symbol, and when it does, it will reveal either Bonus, Jackpot, or Collect, or, if you’re really lucky, it can transform into a Mini, Minor, or Major jackpot prize!

There’s also a random feature, and when the lamp starts to glow, up to five multipliers, worth up to 10x each, can land. These multipliers then stack if they land in the same position, which is where most of the game’s win potential lies!

Rocket Wins

Rounding off our list is Rocket Wins, a game that combines dragons, fireworks, and jackpot-packed reels into a vibrant 432-ways-to-win design! The game’s core bonus is the Extra Board, which is a separate strip of symbols sitting above the middle three reels. These spin in sync with the main reels and display potential prizes like money values, fixed jackpots, or free spins.

If you manage to land a Bonus symbol on reels one and five and a Rocket Collect symbol on any middle reel, you win the prize displayed above, and if you get three of the Collect symbols, you win all visible prizes.

During the game’s free spins bonus round, which can only be triggered from the Extra Board, there’s a guaranteed wild symbol on each spin. There’s also a higher frequency of the collect symbols on the reels, so it’s easier to win the prizes shown above the reels!

Jackpot Slots

BNG offers a decent selection of jackpot slots, primarily through their signature “Hold and Win” series. These games feature fixed jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand. These localised jackpots can be won during special bonuses and features, and you’ll find this mechanic in games like Dragon Pearls: Hold and Win and Sun of Egypt 2.

However, if it’s progressive jackpots you’re looking for, you won’t find any from BNG yet. It’s unclear whether pooled network progressives are an area the provider is interested in, but as of now, they don’t offer any such games.

Table Games, Bingo, and Other Casino Games

For now, BNG’s portfolio is exclusively focused on slot games. The company has not made any attempt to develop traditional table games like blackjack, roulette, or baccarat, nor have they introduced bingo or other casino game variants. There’s no information as of now to suggest that this will change in the future.

Game Mechanics & How They Work

In this next section of our review, we will look at the game mechanics and features used throughout the BNG game catalogue and explain to you how each of these works.

Paylines

In traditional slots, paylines are the core mechanic that dictates how wins are formed. These are predefined paths, or patterns, if you like, that determine the specific positions you need to land symbols in, usually from left to right, to hit a win.

Older slot machines often had just one payline, whereas video slots typically had a minimum of ten. While payline games are less common than they once were, most providers still built the bulk of their games around a payline format.

Popular Payline Games From BNG:

  • Power Sun: Hold and Win 3×3
  • Maya Sun
  • Olympian Gods

Cluster Pays

Cluster pay games offer something entirely different from payline-based games we just talked about, removing them completely. Instead of needing to land symbols in specific places on the reels, wins in cluster pays games are formed by landing clusters, groups of matching symbols that touch horizontally or vertically.

BNG hasn’t released many cluster pays games, for now, there’s just one available, but it’s likely we’ll see more in the future.

Popular Cluster Pays Games From BNG:

  • Candy Boom

Scatter Pays

Scatter pays, also known as pay-anywhere, is a mechanic that, again, breaks free from traditional slot mechanics, and in these games, wins are awarded based on the number of matching symbols that land anywhere in view.

There’s no need for paylines, adjacent reels, or specific positions: if you land enough of the same symbol, you form a win, with the more instances of said symbol resulting in a larger win! Like the cluster pays mechanic we just looked at, BNG hasn’t released many scatter pays games, but you will find two:

Popular Scatter Pays Games From BNG:

  • Goddess of Egypt
  • Boom! Boom! Gold!

Ways to Win

Ways-to-win is a popular alternative to traditional paylines, offering players more flexibility in how winning combinations form. Instead of relying on specific lines, ways-to-win games award you a win for matching symbols on adjacent reels, typically from left to right.

There are many different formats that ways-to-win games can come in, but the most common include 243 ways to win, 1024 ways to win, or, occasionally, 4096 ways to win.

  • Rocket Wins

Bonus Buy

BNG has chosen to incorporate the feature buy option into a number of their slot games. In the titles that include this facility, players can typically access the bonus round in the game for 100x the current bet.

BNG Unique Features

Remote Gaming Server (RGS)

BNG’s Remote Game Server (RGS) is one of their key tools at getting its games out to the world, and the product offers operators a robust, reliable, and developer-friendly framework for game integration. BNG’s RGS was developed when the company was still known as Booongo, and it’s able to handle almost any traffic load or player volume.

There are a number of factors that make their RGS appealing to operators, one of which is the simple API. The RGS also includes built-in automated testing tools, and it’s also highly customisable, allowing operators to add new games, implement new features, or other configurations as needed.

Back Office System

BNG also offers a full back office system that’s designed to give operators complete control over game management, player activity, and engagement strategies. Their back office product runs through one easy-to-use interface, and it offers a number of features, including real-time data, analytics, insights into player behaviour, game performance metrics, and more.

This back-end system allows operators to do pretty much everything, from adjusting the RTPs of individual games to activating promotions. It also allows operators to run competitions and promotions where free bets/free spins can be awarded to players based on predetermined milestones.

Our Conclusion:

Commitment to Player Safety & Fairness

Licensing & Regulation

BNG was awarded a Curacao gaming license back in 2017, when the company was still operating as Booongo. Since then, they’ve stopped displaying a Curacao license logo in the footer section of their website, so it’s not immediately clear whether they still hold this license. This is further complicated by the fact that Curacao’s four Master License holders (one of whom issued Booongo with their 2017 sub-license) are no longer operational. The Gaming Control Board now issues all Curacao licenses, but there is a transition period where operators and providers are allowed to operate under their old licenses.

So, for now, we’d guess that BNG probably doesn’t have a gaming license, but, provided their titles are certified by testing houses and offered through a game aggregator platform, that’s not in itself a bad thing.

Fair Play & Security

BNG lists two testing houses on its website: Quinel (Quinel Limited) and iTech Labs. These are both pretty well-known names in the iGaming world, and both have solid reputations for testing and certifying games.

While BNG doesn’t make it clear which testing house they use and why/when, they do have a small piece of text above the Quinel logo in their footer saying “RNG Certified by…”, so it looks like their random number generator is indeed certified by them rather than iTech Labs.

Partnerships & Collaborations

BNG has entered into numerous partnerships and collaborations with operators and game aggregators. Doing so allows them to get their games into as many online casinos as possible, and it also allows them to enter markets where they would probably struggle to penetrate themselves.

One of their most notable partnerships is with SOFTSWISS, one of the world’s leading iGaming aggregators. BNG signed a deal allowing their entire HTML5 portfolio to be pushed out to all SOFTSWISS operators, most of which are based in Curacao.

In the Asian market, BNG partnered with Flow Gaming, allowing its games to be distributed across Flow’s extensive operator network. They also entered into a partnership with Top Trend Gaming, another Asian-focused game aggregator, giving the studio a pretty good presence in the market.

Corporate Social Responsibility

BNG, like most of the non-corporate iGaming software providers, doesn’t have any information about corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives on its website. This isn’t to say they don’t do things like charity drives or fundraisers, but as of now, there’s no mention on their website of such schemes.

Final Summary

BNG may not be as universally recognised as some of the iGaming giants, but they’ve carved out a solid niche with their mobile-optimised, feature-rich slots and have some decent releases under their belt. Clearly, they’re not aiming to target the more regulated markets like the UK, which their sister company 3 Oaks Gaming does, but they have a decent foothold in the markets they do go after, which are, primarily, in Asia, Latin America, and ROW.

Their slots are designed to a pretty high level of quality, and while they don’t offer anything besides slots, they’re constantly evolving, so it’s anyone’s guess what they may come up with next! In fact, they have a roadmap page on their website which shows their upcoming releases for the year, and if you’re interested in seeing what they’re releasing soon

The current CEO of BNG is Sebastian Damian.
