How to Play Cash or Crash Live

Cash or Crash is one of the easiest live dealer games to play, in our opinion. At least when it comes to understanding how the game actually works. Deciding what to do is much harder, but that’s something we’ll cover later in this review.

1. Place Your Bet

Each time a new round begins, you’ll have roughly 20 seconds to place your bets. Unlike other live dealer games, there is only one bet option here: no extras, no side bets, nothing. You simply choose how much you want to bet on the upcoming round, and that’s it!

2. Watch the First Ball Draw

After the betting time has ended, a game round begins and the first coloured ball is drawn. If it’s:

• Green – climb one step
• Red – instant bust
• Golden Ball – receive a protective shield and upgraded multipliers

If you hit a green, the game continues automatically. If you start with a red, the game ends before you’ve even had time to blink! And, you’d be surprised how often this seems to actually happen!

3. Make Your Decision

After each green ball is drawn, you can choose between three options. You can choose to Take All, which banks your entire current winnings and ends the round immediately. Bonus Games

Cash or Crash isn’t like other live dealer games like Funky Time or Monopoly Big Baller. There are no bonus rounds, no side bets, no random events that can happen (bar the Golden Ball being drawn.) There are, simply, three things that can happen each round, details of which we’ll cover below.

Green Ball – Progression

Green balls are “good” balls, and each time one of them is drawn, you progress one position up the ladder. There are a total of 20 levels, and you need to hit the final stage to unlock the game’s maximum win potential of 18,000x, or 50,000x if the Golden Ball appears. Now, because 19 of the 28 balls are green, the odds are in your favour to begin with, but this soon changes, as the greens start to disappear!

Red Ball – Bust

If a red ball is drawn, the round ends immediately and you lose unless you have previously drawn a golden ball and have a “get out of jail free card”, so to speak. If that is the case, the next red ball drawn will end the game.

Golden Ball – Shield & Boost

The Golden Ball is the most important part of the entire game. When the Golden Ball is drawn, three different things happen:

1. You instantly receive a “shield” which acts as an extra life; allowing players to be protected from the next red that’s drawn.
2. All remaining ladder payouts become “enhanced”, meaning they increase in value significantly.
3. A “forced-play” quick mode sequence begins until your shield has been used. (It’s impossible to die until one red has been drawn, so this works in your favour.)

Below is a breakdown of the ball distribution that drives every round:

If you adhere to “optimal play”, it’s possible to play the game with an RTP as high as 99.59%! This puts the game on par with titles like blackjack and craps! However, this is also a bit of a marketing gimmick. 

To achieve this exceptionally high RTP, you need to cash-out on the first round, every single time that a green is drawn, which means you simply will almost never win more than 1.2x (unless a Golden Ball is drawn first.)
