Slot Overview

Zeus Ze Zecond is a high-volatility video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, and it’s the direct sequel to the original Le Zeus. Here, however, the game expands heavily on its Wonder Reel mechanics. Played on a 6-reel, 5-row layout, Zeus Ze Zecond offers a huge maximum win potential of up to 20,000x, and in this review, we’ll show you everything you need to know about the game!

Theme & Design

The original Le Zeus quickly became one of Hacksaw Gaming’s most popular releases, and we’re not surprised to see them following it up with a sequel. We’ve already seen the studio pushing out sequels to some of their most popular releases, with Toshi Ways Club being a good example.

Design-wise, Zeus Ze Zecond leans fully into mythological chaos, and you’ll see Greek-inspired symbols alongside Hacksaw’s bold, comic-book visual style. The reels take up the majority of the screen, so there’s not actually a huge amount to see in the backdrop, but you can make out some rocks, shrubbery, and marble ladders.

Zeus Ze Zecond Gameplay & Bonus Features

Zeus Ze Zecond uses a 6-reel, 5-row grid with 19 fixed paylines, paying left to right. You can bet from €0.10 to €50, and the game runs at an RTP of 96.26%, which is slightly above the current industry average.

Zeus Ze Zecond’s core mechanic is Wonder Reveal, where Wonder symbols can land on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. When they do, they vertically reveal high-paying symbols, Wilds, or entire Wonder Reels. If revealed symbols contribute to a win, a Respin is also awarded, with those symbols becoming sticky until no new wins are formed. Plus, when multiple Wonder symbols land on the same reel, they form a Wonder Reel, which spins independently and reveals Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, or Pots of Olympus.

Coins and Diamonds award cash values as multipliers of your bet, ranging from low Bronze Coin values up to high Diamond prizes. Clover symbols apply multipliers to adjacent values, while Pots of Olympus collect and store values across the grid, acting one-by-one.

Zeus Ze Zecond also contains three different Free Spins modes. Gates of Hades is triggered by landing 3 Scatter symbols and awards 8 Free Spins. It keeps the base mechanics but introduces sticky Wonder symbols throughout the feature.

Godly Ascension, triggered by 4 Scatters, also awards 8 Free Spins and adds a Wonder Meter. As Wonder symbols land, the meter fills and triggers Reward SPins, where the entire grid becomes a Wonder Reel.

Zeus Ze Zecond also contains a Hidden Epic Bonus, triggered by landing 5 Scatters. This is similar to Gates of Hades, with the core difference being that reels 2-5 are filled with Wonder symbols from the start; this removes low-value symbols entirely.

Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins

Zeus Ze Zecond includes multiple Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins options, including:

  • BonusHunt FeatureSpins – 3x
  • Divine FeatureSpins – 50x
  • Gates of Hades Bonus Buy – 80x
  • Godly Ascension Bonus Buy – 300x

Pros

  • Massive maximum win potential of 20,000x.
  • 3 different Free Spins modes.
  • Hidden Epic Bonus is triggered by landing 5 Scatters.

Cons

  • Quite complex for new/casual players.
  • The base game can feel pretty dry between features.
  • High volatility won’t suit all bankrolls.

Zeus Ze Zecond Slot Review Final Thoughts

Zeus Ze Zecond is a pretty solid release from Hacksaw Gaming, and we feel that it’s clearly designed for players who enjoy quite complex mechanics, persistent features, and volatile, high-risk, high-reward gameplay. Rather than reinventing the wheel, it refines quite a lot of the original Le Zeus’ ideas. But the addition of the Wonder Reels is great.

The game’s volatility is clearly on the high end, and most of the big wins come from extended Wonder interactions or bonus rounds. The base game can pay, yes, but in our opinion, it’s only the two higher-end bonuses that offer any real shot at the game’s max win.

It’s not the most unique game in the world, and some players may find it a bit too similar to the original. For us, however, Zeus Ze Zecond is a decent follow-up from Hacksaw Gaming, if you know what to expect before playing.
