Game Overview
Wrigley is a gremlin-like creature who loves singing, street racing, and red-haired green females! This seems like a reasonable description of his world to me, or at least the one that appears in Red Tiger’s new Wrigley’s World online slot! This is a great-looking game with detailed graphics, but it looks to be relatively simple in the features department. There are 243 payways, a 95.72% RTP, and an attractive maximum jackpot of 20,023.6x the total bet.
The feature list is headed up by the wild symbols which appear on reels two, three, and four, although only five of these can land during a single spin. That looks to be about it as far as the base game is concerned, with the rest of the special features only being available during the ‘Race Spins’ bonus round. During Race Spins, a new Double Boost feature will multiply your win by two for the current bonus round, which can even be triggered several times during a single set of free spins. In addition, a bonus buy facility is offered with the option to purchase a set of race spins at the cost of 70x the normal price per spin.
Ever fancied yourself as a strange creature who works in a junkyard, rebuilding cars to participate in illegal street races? Don’t worry – I’m sure we’ve all been through that phase at some point in our lives. Forget doing it for real, though – just play our free demo slot of Wrigley’s World instead!
Wrigley’s World Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
At first, this game sounds fairly unique, but observant slots fans will no doubt quickly spot the similarities between Wrigley’s World and ELK Studios‘ popular Nitropolis online slots. We looked at Nitropolis 4 not long ago, and whilst it was an excellent game, I felt that ELK had packed that series so full of features that it may even be enough to put some players off. Wrigley’s World sits firmly at the opposite end of the spectrum in this regard – the two games look similar, but this one has, if anything, not enough special features! What’s here is probably enough to satisfy most players, though – especially considering the top jackpot of over 20,000x the total bet.
The scatter symbols have the highest payouts in this game, with 5x, 15x, or 50x the total bet awarded for three, four, or five symbols, respectively. There’s also a 2x wild symbol, and whilst this does not have any payout attached of its own, it does at least boost the value of all of the following regular symbol combinations. The most valuable regular symbol is the trophy, awarding 10x the total bet for each full payway of five of a kind, but I honestly have no idea what the second-place green symbol, which pays 5x your bet, is meant to be! Finally, there’s a tyre with snow chains that will award pays 3x for a complete payway. As for the five low-paying royals, these will award between 0.4x for five tens or 1.2x for five aces.
The betting range is limited to minimum/maximum wagers of €0.10 and €4.00, respectively, but on the plus side, there are plenty of options between the two extremes. However, I can imagine some high-rolling players being disappointed at the limit of just €4.00 per spin.
Base Game & Modifiers
Wrigley’s World uses the familiar five reel, three-row layout that you will find in countless other online slots. All possible paths from left to right are connected for wins, meaning that there are 243 different ways to score a prize whilst playing this game. The 2x multiplier wilds effectively increase this number further, as Red Tiger has explained well on their paytable.
2x Multiplier Wilds
These special wild symbols only appear on reels two, three, and four. Each of these counts as two symbols when calculating the total number of payways, and up to five can appear during a single spin.
Wrigley’s World Slot Bonus Features
Bonus scatter symbols appear on all five reels in Wrigley’s World, but you’ll only need three to trigger a set of ten free spins. If you hit four or five scatters, the number of free spins does not increase, but you receive a small additional cash payout of up to 50x the total bet.
Race Free Spins
Red Tiger has not added many extra features to their race spins bonus round, but it does come with an extra tweak which the developer has dubbed the ‘Double Boost’. Every wild symbol that lands during race spins will fill a single position on the 2x gauge above the reels, and filling this gauge with five symbols will activate the double boost.
Each time a double boost is triggered, the total win from the current set of race spins will be multiplied by two. This feature can activate several times during a single feature. You will also receive an additional five free spins each time.
Bonus Buy
If you are struggling to win yourself a set of race spins, the bonus buy facility could be just what you are looking for! This costs 70x the normal price of a single spin, which seems more-or-less fair, although I have to admit that the bonus round doesn’t add an awful lot to the base gameplay.
Wrigley’s World Slot Review Final Thoughts
If Wrigley’s World was intended to compete with ELK’s Nitropolis series, then I think that Red Tiger has fallen a little short here. It looks great, and the jackpot is plenty big enough, but there just wasn’t enough going on to keep me interested – even during the short term.
