Game Overview

The Megaways era in iGaming gave the industry a much-needed boost and would go on, in my opinion, to inspire a whole new generation of volatile online slots that would thrill players with fantastic features and, more importantly, huge wins. One of the leading providers of Megaways when they were ‘hot’ was UK provider Blueprint Gaming, and today they’re turning back the clock and giving one of their original titles in that niche a slight revamp. So, strap in, slot fans, as we put Wolf Legend Gold Megaways under our microscope, a 6-reel game with up to 117,649 ways to win and a maximum win of 250,000x.

Theme & Design

As far as themes go, neither the original Wolf Legend Megaways nor Wolf Legend Gold Megaways exactly gets you on the edge of your seat, with a classic American West backdrop and associated animals featuring on the game reels. However, as the saying goes, it’s not what’s on the outside; it’s what’s on the inside that counts, so we’ll save judgement on today’s review when we go through the features shortly.

Before we get there, let’s find a couple of game suggestions for you to try out after you’ve finished spinning the reels on Wolf Legend Gold Megaways. Okay, this one might seem a bit odd, but with Blueprint giving this original a revamp, it did make me wonder if they were doing so to target a different market. We’ve seen this previously when Buffalo Rising Megaways got a name change to target the USA market, which you can view over on our Almighty Buffalo Megaways demo page. So, there we go, two titles for you to get stuck into, even though they are pretty much the same slot.

Wolf Legend Gold Megaways Gameplay & Features

Blueprint Gaming’s Wolf Legend Gold Megaways is a 6-reel, 7-row slot with up to 117,649 ways to win and an RTP of 95%. The betting options on the game are relatively standard for a Blueprint release, with the minimum price to play starting at €0.20 a spin and reaching a maximum of €25.

It’s time to talk about those all-important features, and we’ll start with the tumbling reels, which activate each time a winning combo is formed on the reels. These will remove winning symbols from the playfield and replace them with new ones for more chances to win.

Next, we have the mystery symbols, which can land in any reel position. After the spin has ended, all mystery symbols will transform into the same randomly chosen symbol from the paytable, with this aspect of the game potentially being very lucrative in the bonus round.

Last of all, we come to the free spins round, triggered when 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatters land in view, awarding 12, 17, 22, and 27 free spins, respectively. Before the feature begins, you are given the chance to gamble your spins for more, but be aware, this can lead to you losing a large chunk, or indeed all of your spins.

Whatever route you take to make it to the bonus round, once the feature begins, you’ll start with a 1x win multiplier. Each successful cascade you then achieve will increase the multiplier by +1, with it not resetting between spins.

Bonus Buy

If you’d prefer to skip the base game, you can enter the free spins via the feature buy option at the cost of 100x the base bet.

Pros

  • A classic throwback to the Megaways era.
  • A huge jackpot, but likely not realistic.
  • Features reel cascades, pie gambles and win multipliers.

Cons

  • Just like many of the original Megaways titles.
  • Let's be honest, the 250k max win stated in the rules is never happening.
  • Below average RTP.

Wolf Legend Gold Megaways Slot Review Final Thoughts

It might be a blast from the past, but other than a change to the feature gamble at the start of the bonus, Wolf Legend Gold Megaways doesn't differ too much from the original. However, if you want to reminisce about those good old days, you might enjoy some spin time in our free demo.
