Theme & Design

The original Wisdom of Athena 1000 became quite popular, itself being a sequel of Wisdom of Athena. Both games became known for their Greek architecture and bright visuals. The Xmas version keeps the same 6×5 reel layout but swaps marble pillars for columns wrapped in tinsel!

Athena herself appears in a festive red cloak. The soundtrack has also been remixed with bells and warm, cinematic tones. It may not look like the most original clone, but it’s a Christmas sequel, so what else would you expect?

Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas Gameplay & Features

Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas plays on a 6-reel, 5-row grid using Pragmatic Play’s Scatter Pays mechanic. Wins occur when 8 or more matching symbols appear anywhere on the screen, regardless of their position. You can wager between €0.20 and €125 per spin. The game has a default RTP of 96%. Be aware, however, that lower RTP versions exist, potentially as low as 94.05%.

Any win results in a tumble mechanic, and this allows new symbols to drop down and replace the old ones. Now, above the reels sits a locked row that gradually opens as you rack up tumbles: Reel 1 after one tumble, Reel 2 after three, Reel 3 after six, and so on, until Reel 6 unlocks after fifteen.

Of course, it’s the multiplier symbols that offer the majority of the game’s win potential, and they can land with values of between 2x and 1,000x. At the end of each tumble sequence, all visible multipliers are added together and applied to your total win.

Landing 4, 5, or 6 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the bonus round and also awards a cash prize of up to 100x. During the free spins, the top locked row unlocks progressively just like in the base game, but once open, it stays that way for the remainder of the bonus. Multipliers from all tumbles stack together, too. You can also win 5 additional free spins by landing three or more scatters in view.

Bonus Buy

Players from outside restricted regions can also use the game’s bonus buy mechanic. You can pay 100x your base game stake to land 4-6 scatter symbols on the reels, and there’s also an Ante Bet option which increases your stake by 25% in return for a higher chance of landing the bonus.
