Pros
- The side multiplier is a good mechanic in both the base game and the free spins.
- At the top end, the RTP of 96.55% is great.
- Uses the scatter-pays mechanic well.
Cons
- For how big the multipliers can reach, the max win of 5,000x seems a touch low.
- Operators can use RTP models that dip to as low as 94.50%.
Waves of Poseidon Slot Review Final Thoughts
We've seen many outstanding titles from Pragmatic Play in the scatter pays niche over the years, with arguably Gates of Olympus and Gates of Olympus 1000 being two of their biggest hits. The studio has always looked to capitalise on the popularity of those releases, and we've seen numerous clones over the years and games that take a slightly different approach to the mechanics, which is what we have with their Waves of Poseidon slot.
The main feature of the game is the win multiplier located to the left of the reels. This is active in the base game but is much more prominent in the free spins round, especially if you are playing the super free spins, where you're more likely to hit that rather small max win of 5,000x the bet.
It's fair to say Waves of Poseidon won't go on to be an all-time classic from Pragmatic Play, but I do see it being relatively popular. It's just a shame the max win wasn't capped at 10,000x.
