Is the game any good? That’s exactly what we’ll answer in this detailed review.

Theme & Design

Slotmill has enjoyed impressive success in recent years. When they released Super Fruit Smash, it didn’t prove to be the most successful game in the world, but it was well-received, just not as much as some of their other titles like Cash Pandas or Chilli Bandits.

Unsurprisingly, Ultra Fruit Smash is a sequel to Super Fruit Smash. Visually, it looks almost the same. The reel grid is superimposed on top of a nature-based backdrop, and you’ll see some flowers, water, and shrubbery around the reels, but not much else. Still, it looks good, and Slotmill’s now-standard high-quality look and feel is present here, that’s for sure.

Ultra Fruit Smash Gameplay & Bonus Features

Ultra Fruit Smash is a 6×6 grid slot that uses a scatter pays mechanic. Wins are formed by landing 8+ matching symbols anywhere in view. The game has a fixed RTP of 96.08%, and you can bet between €0.20 and €50 per spin. 

There’s quite a lot happening in the game, and first up is the cascading reels. Each win triggers the Avalanche feature, which removes winning symbols from the reels and drops new ones down. This process continues while new wins are formed.

Now, at the start of a new game round, a 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 Giant Fruit or Wild symbol can randomly appear on the grid. Giant Fruits can carry multipliers of up to 50x, while Giant Wilds can carry multipliers of up to 1,000x. These multipliers are added to the total win multiplier before wins are calculated, if enough symbols match to form a win.

You’ll also see Golden Multiplier Banana symbols on the reels. These can randomly land, and when they do, they become charged with 2-5 “charges”. They also have a random multiplier of up to 1,000x. When it lands, one Banana charge is added to the win multiplier, and each reel cascade removes one Banana charge until there’s none left.

Special multiplier chests can also land on the reels, displaying instant win prizes of up to 1,000x. The game’s main bonus round, however, is the free spins feature. This is triggered by landing three bonus symbols anywhere in view, and doing so awards 8 free spins. During the free spins, the win multiplier doesn’t reset between spins. You can also trigger additional spins by landing more scatter symbols.

Finally, Ultra Fruit Smash contains a Super Free Spins feature, triggered by landing 2 bonus symbols and 1 Super Bonus scatter in the base game. Again, you’re awarded 8 free spins, but this time, every spin is guaranteed to have a Giant Fruit or Giant Wild symbol.

Fast Track, Burst Mode, and XTra-Bet

Like most Slotmill games today, Ultra Fruit Smash contains a few additional options. For 2.7x your base game stake, you can play with XTra-Bet on, which increases the chances of you triggering the bonus round naturally.

Five bonus purchase options are available. You can buy a guaranteed Giant Fruit for 40x, a guaranteed Giant Wild for 80x, the standard free spins for 100x, or the Super Free Spins for 500x. There’s also a gamble option which costs 250x and gives you a 50% chance of the Super Free Spins and a 50% chance of nothing.

Finally, there’s Burst Mode, which allows you to pre-select up to 1,000 spins to play automatically. However, in Burst Mode, you don’t actually see the spins, as they play much faster than conventional spins. You can, however, choose to view big win spins and any bonus rounds you trigger.
