Slot Overview

It’s time to hit those hunger pains with a frightening twist in the Treats of Terror 2 slot by Play’n GO. Spin this high-volatility game and enjoy scatter pays, cascading reels, free spins, and be in with a chance of winning up to 15,000x your bet.

Gameplay & Bonus Features

Play’n GO’s Treats of Terror 2 slot is a 5×5 reel game operating on the scatter pays system, with wins awarded when 6 or more symbols land anywhere in view. Staking options start from a minimum of €0.10 a spin, whilst maximum bets reach a high of €40. Although undocumented officially, it’s believed the release comes with a standard RTP of 96%.

When wins occur, the winning symbols disappear, courtesy of the tumbling reels engine, and the remaining ones fall down to fill the empty spaces, while new symbols drop in from above. These cascades continue for as long as new winning combinations appear.

Bonus Treats & Collectors

One of the main mechanics revolves around Bonus Treat symbols, which carry their own cash values displayed as multipliers of the total bet. These treats come in a wide range of stages, starting from smaller multipliers like 1x and 1.5x and climbing all the way up to larger prizes such as Mini, Minor, Major, Mega, and the top Grand reward worth up to 1000x the bet.

Collector symbols interact directly with these treats. When a Collector lands while Bonus Treat symbols are present on the grid, it gathers their values and awards the combined total as a payout. If more than one Collector appears during the same round, each one collects the treats separately, meaning the same values can be counted multiple times.

Terry Treats

If Bonus Treat symbols remain on the grid at the end of a base game round without being collected, they are absorbed by the character Terry. This ends the cascading sequence and introduces a chance to trigger the Terry Treats feature.

When activated, Terry awards five random bonus treat values chosen from the same multiplier range used in the base game. These values are added together and paid as a single reward, which can occasionally lead to larger payouts if higher-tier treats are selected.

Free spins

Free spins are triggered by landing three or more scatter symbols during the base game. The feature begins with eight free spins and a 2x win multiplier applied to all payouts.

During the bonus, collecting additional scatters upgrades the feature through several stages. Each stage increases the multiplier and awards extra spins, gradually making the round more rewarding as it progresses. Stage two adds five spins and raises the multiplier to 3x, stage three grants seven additional spins and increases the multiplier to 5x, and stage four awards eight more spins while boosting the multiplier to 10x. Once the final stage is reached, no further scatters can land.

Bonus Treat and Collector symbols remain active throughout free spins, allowing the same collection mechanics from the base game to continue while the increasing multiplier boosts the value of any wins.

Theme & Design

As you’ll often find with any Play’n GO release, Treats of Terror 2 has a very well-made intro, which sets the theme of the game up nicely. Once loaded, you’ll be presented with a slick design, bright colours, fluid animations, and a soundtrack that doesn’t exactly excite but does fit with the general idea and presentation of the release.

As you’ll have likely guessed from the title, Treats of Terror 2 is a sequel, so if you want to get up to speed and find out where this series all began, then head on over to our Treats of Terror demo, where you can enjoy unlimited free play.

Pros

  • High max win at 15,000x.
  • Bright colours and a busy design.
  • The reels can be spun for as little as €0.10.

Cons

  • The theme might not be for everyone.
  • Did Treats of Terror really need a sequel?
  • No bonus buy.

Final Thoughts

In all honesty, I'd forgotten that the original Treats of Terror even existed, so I guess my levels of expectation for the sequel were not exactly high. In my opinion, at least, those thoughts were justified, as whilst Treats of Terror 2 is a bright and colourful affair, it's not a game that's going to have you reaching for that casino deposit button to load your account for any real money spins.
