Slot Overview
Treasure Explorer is a BGaming slot that follows Laura Loot on an Aztec-themed adventure! The game offers cascading wins, progressive multipliers, milestone rewards, Wild Spots, and a free spins round with multipliers of up to 25x. With a maximum win potential of 5,000x, you could find Laura dishing out some decent-sized hits, too! Learn everything you need to know about the game here in this review.
Theme & Design
BGaming has produced some pretty impressive slots recently. Whether it’s games with very unique mechanics like UFO Pyramids or branded games under license, like Star Trek: The Next Generation, this is clearly a software provider that is working hard to position itself as a leader in today’s iGaming industry.
Treasure Explorer may not be quite as complex-looking as some of their other recent releases, but it looks good, and you’ll see the reels set within a bright, jungle-temple setting with cartoon-styled graphics and a unique explorer theme.
Laura Loot is the game’s protagonist, and you’ll be accompanying her through a long-lost Aztec civilisation in search of long-lost treasures! Now, before you worry too much, this is NOT a “Book of” clone. There’s a lot going on, as you’ll see in the following section of this review.

Treasure Explorer Gameplay & Bonus Features
Treasure Explorer is played on a five-reel, three-row setup. There are 25 fixed paylines. You can bet between €0.25 and €1,000 per spin, and the game offers a bang-on-average RTP of 96%. Now, Treasure Explorer uses a cascading reels mechanic, and this means winning combos disappear, and new symbols can then drop down to fall into place.
Every cascade increases the progressive multiplier map by +1, starting at x2 and climbing up to x10 in the base game. After all cascades finish, the final win amount is multiplied by whichever multiplier you reached, after which the meter resets for the next spin.
Landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the game’s main free spins bonus, and you’ll be awarded 8, 10, or 12 spins, respectively. During free spins, multipliers do not reset between spins, and the map also changes. During the bonus round, it goes up to 25x! It can also unlock different modifiers, like turning specific symbols into Wild Spots (that are persistent until the end of the feature) or awarding extra spins.
Bonus Buy & Chance x2
Treasure Explorer has two Bonus Buy options and one Ante Bet. Chance x2 increases your base game stake by 1.4x and doubles the odds of landing the free spins bonus naturally.
You can also buy the standard free spins bonus for 100x or the Super Bonus for 250x. The Super Bonus starts you at the second milestone on the progressive map trail. This means an instant 10x multiplier and a boost to the number of Wild Spots you can land that round.
Pros
- Solid progression-based gameplay with clear goals.
- Super Bonus is reasonably priced at 250x.
- Win up to 5,000x.
Cons
- Can be annoying when the multiplier keeps resetting in the base game.
- Wild Spots don’t land very often.
- The game is “limited availability”, so may not be available at all online casinos.
Treasure Explorer Slot Review Final Thoughts
We’ve truly been impressed with BGaming in the last couple of years. They’ve really stepped up their game and have worked hard to pivot from a small crypto-focused slots supplier to a mainstream provider looking to give industry leaders a run for their money.
Treasure Explorer is a pretty good example of why their games are becoming more popular among players, and no, it’s not perfect, but it is well-thought-out, offers excitement in both the base game and the bonus round, and offers a good variety of mechanics.
We like the fact that the multiplier map appears in both the base game and the bonus. While it can be a bit frustrating to have it constantly resetting in the base, it becomes really powerful in the bonus, especially if you reach up to the end stages where the 25x multiplier is unlocked!
While the 5,000x maximum win potential isn’t the best in the world, the game’s combination of cascading wins, non-resetting multipliers, and Wild Spot mechanics makes it pretty satisfying to play, and we feel it’s a polished, well-executed slot that’s worth checking out if you get the chance!
