Totally Hot is a new BGaming release that offers, well, not a lot. There’s expanding wilds, a win-both-ways mechanic, and a maximum win potential of up to 2,500x. So, on paper, it doesn’t look great, but are there any reasons to play? Let’s find out in this detailed review.

Theme & Design

For us, BGaming is quite a surprising software provider. They also appear to be quite inconsistent. On the one hand, they continue to surprise us with releases like UFO Pyramids and Wild Wick, but on the other hand, they continue to churn out some really underwhelming games at times.

Totally Hot, unfortunately, falls in the latter of the two camps, we feel. Visually, it’s not the worst-looking game in the world, but even the theming is a bit “off”. It’s meant to be a Christmas-themed game, for example, but aside from two candy canes in the bottom right and the top-left-hand corner of the screen, there is absolutely no Xmas feeling here whatsoever, and fire, Red 7s, and slot machine fruits like cherries and plums appear, so it feels a bit weird even theme-wise.

Sure, it looks OK, and the graphics aren’t the worst in the world, but it doesn’t feel like a finished, polished product, and that’s something we haven’t found ourselves saying about BGaming’s releases in a while.

Totally Hot Gameplay & Bonus Features

Totally Hot is built around a five-reel, three-row layout, and there are ten fixed paylines in play at all times. However, the game, effectively, has 20 paylines, as the slot uses a win-both-ways mechanic. Wins are paid from both left to right and right to left. You can wager between €0.10 and €100 per spin, and the game offers a well above-average RTP of 97.21%.

Now, when we say there is virtually no bonus action inside Totally Hot, we really mean it. If a wild symbol lands on the third reel, it expands; and that’s it. No re-spins, no locked wilds, nothing. That is literally the only “bonus” inside the game.
