Slot Overview
Torture Block is a high-volatility video slot from Croco Gaming, and the slot is designed around a pretty brutal prison theme, with Cage Mechanics, Stacked Multipliers, Free Spins, Bonus Buys, and a maximum win potential of 15,000x. It’s a good looking game, but is it worth playing? The Demoslot team investigates.
Theme & Design
Croco Gaming is one of the newer software providers, and Torture Block marks just their 11th release. This provider, however, has really impressed us so far. One of their games, Super Waldo, is easily one of our favourite slot releases… ever… and others like Cursed Clown and Tim & Larry are equally as impressive.
Naturally, that sets a pretty high bar for future releases, including Torture Block, and while it’s a little less impressive visually, it still does a good job of capturing the overall theme. You’ll see the reels set within a grim prison setting, with inmates and shackled body parts making up the game’s symbols. Yes, it’s more simplistic than some of their previous releases, but that’s OK; not every game needs to offer award-winning graphics!

Torture Block Gameplay & Bonus Features
Torture Block runs on a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 19 fixed paylines. Wins are paid left to right. You can bet from €0.10 to €100 per spin, and the game operates with a default RTP of 96.45%.
Now, the game’s core mechanic in the base game is the Cage Feature: cages appear on reels 2 and 4, and when a Wild lands inside one, it displays a random multiplier between 2x and 10x. If multiple caged Wilds land on the same payline, their multipliers are added together.
When two caged Wilds land on the same spin, a Respin Phase is triggered, and here, the Wilds remain locked. New cages can land on other reels, and the Respins continue for as long as new Wilds land. If two Guard Scatters land inside cages at the same time, a special Scatter Respin Phase is triggered with guaranteed additional Guard symbols, increasing the chance of entering a bonus.
In the Electric Chair bonus, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters award 10, 12, or 15 free spins respectively. During this mode, cages appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 and shift position slightly on each spin. Every Wild fills a progress bar, and once five Wilds have appeared, an instant win of either 10x or 50x your bet is awarded. Caged Wilds can also gain extra multipliers and each Wild adds one additional free spin.
The second Free Spins Bonus – Hot Brand – also awards 10, 12, or 15 free spins. Here, each reel features a cage, and any Wild landing inside remains locked for the duration of the bonus. A global multiplier starts at 1x, too, and increases by +1 for every Wild collected. At the end of each spin, all wins are calculated and then multiplied by the overall multiplier.
There are also some extra features; the Execution Bonus, for example, is a “Pick me Bonus”, while the Maxwin Brawl is a bonus only available via a Bonus Buy. Here, every spin guarantees at least four Wilds and one Special Wild. You must choose which character is hidden inside the Special Wild; a correct choice awards a massive multiplier, which can include the game’s max win.
Torture Block also contains other Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options. Bonus Boost costs 3x, Cage Spins cost 20x, Free Spins cost 100x, and the Execution Bonus costs 150x. The Maxwin Brawl, by the way, costs a whopping 1,500x!
Pros
- Solid maximum win potential of 15,000x.
- Multiple bonus rounds with different mechanics.
- Plenty of Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options available.
Cons
- The theme is pretty dark/gory.
- Very high volatility with slow base game pacing.
- Maxwin Brawl Bonus Buy costs a whopping 1,500x
Torture Block Slot Review Final Thoughts
Look, Croco Gaming is a solid little software provider. They’ve produced some fantastic games, and with this came quite high pressure for subsequent releases, like Torture Block. This is NOT us saying the game is bad, not at all; purely that they are simply being judged to a very high standard given the quality of their previous releases.
With that said, Torture Block does feel a little tame. Yes, there is a lot of harsh, volatile bonus round action, and it’s fun, but it doesn’t flow in quite the same way Super Waldo does, for example.
The graphics and overall presentation also aren’t the most impressive in the world, but again, it’s fine overall, and we are just being overly critical here. The solid maximum win potential of 15,000x is more than enough for most players. And yes, this WILL be a slot we likely try ourselves! It’s just not quite up to the standards we saw in previous releases, and that’s OK!
