Slot Overview
Tomb of Gold Reimagined is Play’n GO’s third “Tomb of Gold” release, and this low-volatility game revisits the classic Egyptian Lock’n Gold formula with refreshed visuals, expanded mechanics, and a maximum win potential of up to 10,000x. There’s quite a lot going on, so does the sequel deliver? The Demoslot team investigates.
Theme & Design
Tomb of Gold Reimagined is Play’n GO’s third instalment in the series, with the two previous games – Tomb of Gold and Tomb of Gold 2 – receiving mixed levels of success. Tomb of Gold Reimagined is set within a lavish Egyptian temple, and the reels are covered in gold, gemstones, and glowing torchlight.
We think Tomb of Gold Reimagined looks absolutely superb, and that’s no exaggeration. It’s one of the cleanest, most detail-focused video slots we’ve seen in a while, and the bonus round builds on this perfectly, too, with graphics becoming even crisper as glaring golden light blares out from behind the reels.

Tomb of Gold Reimagined Gameplay & Bonus Features
Tomb of Gold Reimagined uses a 6×4 reel layout with 4,096 ways to win. Wins are formed by landing adjacent symbol combinations from left to right starting on the first reel. The betting range runs from €0.10 to €100 per spin, and the RTP can be as high as 96.24% – or as low as 84.24%.
Wild symbols can land on all reels and substitute for all symbols bar Gem Scatters. You can also land Multiplier Wilds which display a value of 2x or 3x. The Gem Scatters are key to triggering the main feature, and there are three types: Double Scatters, Ignite Scatters, and Bonus Scatters. When one or more Gem Scatters land, they are collected into their respective pots. Randomly, the Lock’n Gold feature activates.
When Lock’n Gold is triggered, four initial Respins are awarded. Coin symbols can land and stick in place, and the Respin counter resets whenever one or more new Coin or Gem Scatters appear. Depending on which Scatters were collected when triggering the feature, up to three Gem modifiers can be active during the bonus:
- Double Horus: Triggered by blue Double Scatters, this modifier selects between one and three Coin symbols, doubling their value instantly.
- Serpent’s Surge: Triggered by red Ignite Scatters and selects a single Coin symbol whose value increases throughout the entire Lock’n Gold feature.
- Bonus of Anubis: Triggered by purple Bonus Scatters and grants instant bonus prizes when collected, which can also include Mini (20x), Minor (50x), Major (100x), and Grand (1,000x) jackpots.
Pros
- A polished reimagining of a proven Lock’n Gold formula.
- Low volatility with frequent wins and feature triggers.
- Decent maximum win potential of 10,000x.
Cons
- Low volatility = many poor bonuses.
- Some very low RTP versions of the game are available.
- Lock’n Gold mechanics will feel very familiar to experienced players.
Tomb of Gold Reimagined Slot Review Final Thoughts
Tomb of Gold Reimagined is a confident “update”, if you like, and one thing we definitely will give Play’n GO is the fact that the game looks superb. Graphically, it’s clearly a better version than the original, and that’s not even up for debate, in our eyes.
The base game offers steady action thanks to frequent wins and multiplier Wilds, and we also like the Lock’n Gold feature, which is, clearly, the heart of the experience. Sure, it doesn’t reinvent the mechanic, but the gem-based enhancements add enough variation to keep each trigger feeling slightly different.
On the downside, the game’s low-variance maths model won’t appeal to everyone, but a 10,000x maximum win potential is far from being “bad”, so yes; this is a game we’ll likely check out ourselves once it’s released, and we could confidently suggest you do the same, especially if you enjoyed the original!
