Game Overview
There has never been an official Tom & Jerry slot… and there still isn’t, but that hasn’t stopped Croco Gaming from coming pretty darn close, and their latest release, Tim & Larry, is very clearly inspired by one of the most famous cartoons of all time. This 5×5 slot offers everything from expanding symbols and free spins to a maximum win potential of 15,000x, but is it worth playing? Find out in this detailed review.
Theme & Design
Croco Gaming have already proven they’re unafraid of risk when it comes to legalities. Some of their previous releases, well, Super Waldo needs no introduction, and even games like Clash & Cash hold some very familiar resemblances.
In Tim & Larry, you’ll be following the action as a cheeky cat and a clever mouse battle it out over some delicious-looking treats but end up fighting when things don’t go their way; sound familiar?
Now, visually, Tim & Larry is pretty impressive-looking, and the splash screen even looks like the old Tom & Jerry screen with the cat looking through a hole! The reels are set inside a fridge, and there are blocks of cheese, clockwork toys, and a 0/25 meter visible at the top of the screen.

Tim & Larry Gameplay & Bonus Features
Tim & Larry is designed around a 5×5 grid layout, and there are 19 fixed paylines in play at all times. The game offers an above-average RTP of 96.91%, and you can stake between €0.10 and €100 per spin.
There’s a lot of bonus action to be found in the game, and first up is the Food Duel feature. This symbol only becomes active if its expanded version, or the expanded version of another Food Duel symbol, is part of at least one winning payline. When it does, it becomes wild and fills the entire reel. Each Food Duel symbol then contains two multipliers, one of which is randomly selected to apply against any wins the wild symbol helps to form.
When the Tim’s Presents symbol lands on the reel, it also becomes wild and expands. Each of these symbols contains between 1 and 6 blocks of cheese, and when it lands, you’ll see Tim throw wild symbols across the reels depending on how many cheese blocks appear. A random multiplier of up to 200x is also then applied to any wins formed as a result of the newly added wild symbols.
Now, each block of cheese that lands on the reels after a Tim’s Present symbol triggers in the base game increases the progress meter above the reels by +1. Once it reaches 25, the Tasty Spin feature is triggered, and here, all symbols are replaced by Sauce symbols, displaying various instant win prizes worth up to 500x. Any that land are then paid!
Landing three scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the Diner Fight Bonus, which awards you 10 free games and a higher number of Food Duel and Tim’s Present symbols on the reels. There are also three stages of the bonus. The higher you progress, the higher the multipliers that can be applied on a Tasty Spin.
Landing four bonus symbols on the reels triggers the BBQ Mayhem bonus round, and this again awards you with 10 free spins. This free spins bonus has four additional stages, and to advance to the next one, you need to collect 6 wilds. Each upgrade offers a higher number of guaranteed Food Duel symbols and also awards +3 free spins.
Bonus Buy
Tim & Larry offers five bonus buy / ante bet options. Bonus Boost costs 3x your stake and makes it 6x more likely that a bonus round is triggered, while Food Duel can be purchased for 60x.
Tim’s Presents can also be purchased for 60x, while an Ultimate Spin, ensuring a Food Duel symbol lands on four of the five reels, costs 1,500x. Finally, the Diner Fight and BBQ Mayhem bonus rounds can be purchased for 100x and 200x your base game stake, respectively.
Pros
- Win up to 15,000x.
- Quite a clever design - even if it is heavily “borrowed”.
- Lots of bonuses and features
Cons
- VERY similar to Duel at Dawn (in terms of bonuses).
- Bonus buys can get very expensive; up to 1,500x.
- Available at just one online casino
Tim & Larry Slot Review Final Thoughts
Tim & Larry is yet another example of Croco Gaming’s fearless approach when it comes to online video slot design, and yes, it works. Of course, it’s an obvious parody of Tom & Jerry, but beneath the cheeky (and, to be honest, we’re unsure if we can actually say legal) similarity lies a well-polished, fast-paced slot that’s packed with action.
The range of bonuses and features in the slot is impressive, from Food Duel and Tim’s Presents to the multi-stage Diner Fight and BBQ Mayhem bonuses, and we like the fact that thanks to this action, there’s so much potential action on every spin.
Of course, beagle-eyed slots fans will recognise the Food Duel as a “borrowed” feature from Hacksaw Gaming's Duel at Dawn slot, but even with this, Tim & Larry is well-executed and, honestly, pretty enjoyable to play. It’s definitely worth a punt, especially if you haven’t tried out any of the provider’s games yet!
