Game Overview
Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels is IGT’s latest video slot release, and this Asian-inspired game offers tons of action! From the Tiger Bonus, a Dragon Bonus, and a “Tiger AND Dragon Bonus”, there’s lots going on, along with a Mystery Gong feature! Learn everything you need to know about Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels here in this review.
Theme & Design
Asian-inspired games based on tigers and dragons are nothing new in the online gambling world. From old classics like Tiger Dance and Fortune Tiger to modern hits like Dragon Hopper. Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels, however, retains the classic feel, similar to what you may remember from releases like 88 Fortunes.
The reels themselves are set on a fairly basic blue backdrop, but in the top left-hand corner of the screen you will see the tiger and dragon squaring up to each other. Below them sits a giant gold gong, and above the reels you’ll see the “Cash on Reels” amount and two chests.
It’s a fairly decent-looking game, although nothing overly exciting. The audio soundtrack is also fine, but again, nothing exceptional.

Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels Gameplay & Bonus Features
Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels is built on a 5-reel, 3-row layout with a 243-ways-to-win mechanic, which means you can form wins from left to right provided there are 3+ symbols on adjacent reels. You can play from €0.75 to €90 per spin, and the game runs on a 96% RTP.
Now, after every base game spin, any Gong symbol landing on the reels reveals either a cash value between 1 and 99 or an Arrow symbol. Arrows always convert to 0 but increase the leftmost number in the horizontal cluster by 1-90, pushing the total up. Gong clusters need only be horizontal. Landing two or more from left to right secures a payout. The numbers displayed are then read like a real number; so, for example, if you landed one gong with a 10 and the second with an 8, you’d be paid 108x.
There’s also a Mystery Gong feature which can randomly activate on any non-winning base game spin. When it does, between 1 and 12 gongs are added to random reel positions, and they then reveal a number or an arrow.
These gongs also contribute to the persistent Mystery Gong Tracker. Every time you land 5 or more gongs that are not in a valid horizontal cluster, one gong is added to the tracker. Once the tracker reaches 8, no more visual gongs are added, but the behaviour remains the same.
To trigger one of the game’s main bonus rounds, you need to land Tiger/Dragon symbols. Landing 3 Tigers anywhere activates the Tiger Bonus, while landing 3 Dragons triggers the Dragon Bonus. If only 1 or 2 appear, there’s a chance the bonus is awarded anyway via a second-chance feature.
Now, the Tiger Bonus awards you 3 spins on individual “reels within reels”, where only Gong symbols can land. Any time you land a new Gong, the counter resets back to 3, and the landed Gongs lock in place; a pretty standard Hold & Win bonus. Once the bonus finishes, the values displayed (the numbers on the gongs) are read as a single value from left to right and paid.
The Dragon Bonus works similarly but gives only 1 spin. This bonus plays nearly identically to the Tiger Bonus, with the sole difference being that the reels expand upwards, doubling their height.
Now, if you land a combination of five Tiger/Dragon symbols, you trigger the Dragon & Tiger Bonus. Here, you receive three re-spins. Here, however, you need to collect additional Gong symbols to unlock new rows, up to 8 in total. If you manage to land 32 Gong symbols, you win the jackpot. Regardless, Gong numbers are paid as cash at the end, too.
Bonus Buy
There are also two bonus buy options: a 50x buy that triggers one of the three bonuses at random and a 100x buy that guarantees entry into the Tiger & Dragon Bonus.
Pros
- Tonnes of bonuses and features to look forward to.
- Very unique “Arrow/Number” Gong mechanic.
- Bonus Buy option available.
Cons
- Very low maximum win potential of 2,000x.
- Feels like quite an old or dated game.
- No true free spins; re-spins only award 1 or 3 spins.
Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels Slot Review Final Thoughts
Tiger and Dragon: Cash on Reels is one of those slots that looks fairly simple at first, but actually has a surprising amount of depth to it. The Gong system, and the way the Arrow/Number transformations work, is quite interesting, and it can produce some pretty decent wins, too.
The bonuses are where the game’s personality comes out, but whether that’s a good thing will depend on the type of player you are. Instead of traditional free spins, all three bonus modes revolve around re-spins, locked symbols, and number-building, and while the Tiger/Dragon combination bonus can get exciting, in our opinion, this is pretty much all cancelled out by the fact that the game’s maximum win potential is just 2,000x.
We don’t really understand why you’d bother making a game in 2025 with such a low max win limit. Players are proving, time and time again, they’re happy with high variance slots with ultra-high win potential, and for IGT to release a 2,000x game... we just don’t think it’s going to appeal to players.
However, it’s a semi-reasonable game with some nice mechanics and interesting gameplay, but just be aware that the MOST you can ever win is 2,000x your stake. For most players, we feel that’s probably not enough.
