Game Overview
Banks have a reputation for being greedy, so it’s little wonder that the majority of us are always rooting for the criminals when watching a movie where there’s a heist going down. Now, however, it’s you, the player, that gets to be in the hot seat, as AvatarUX gives you the chance to blast open the safe in their release titled The Vault Chase. This 5-reel game features free spins, increasing vault multipliers and presents you with a shot at hitting the maximum win of 10,000x the bet.
Theme & Design
The Vault Chase is a crime-themed slot and gives off 1960s vibes with both the design of the game and the characters used within it. Rather unsurprisingly, the background is an open vault teeming with coins and gold bars, which is a little generic, but overall, the game has been well put together.
Those of you who fancy taking on the role of an online slot bank robber have plenty of titles to choose from, and you can either head over to our crime-themed slots page to rummage through the selection, or if you want to try a couple of my suggestions, go give You Can Piggy Bank On It and Heist Guys a try, two very different approaches taken to this genre from Pragmatic Play and Elk Studios.

The Vault Chase Gameplay & Features
AvatarUX’s The Vault Chase uses a 5-reel, 3-row configuration with 25 paylines active throughout the gameplay. Variable RTP levels ranging from 96% down to 90.5% can be used by operators, whilst betting options start from a minimum of €0.10 to a maximum of €300, although the top end of this scale will almost certainly be capped at a far lower amount at most online casinos.
If you’re not a fan of collection-based slots, you might want to look away now, as The Vault Chase incorporates this heavily into the gameplay. This is represented by the key collection meter at the top of the reel, which you progress along each time any of the key multipliers land in view. If 5 or more keys land simultaneously as a standard or golden safe, you will be offered to collect the combined total of the multipliers on the screen or open the safe for a mystery award instead. Players should note that the golden safe can potentially award bigger prizes, and the higher your level on the meter, the more valuable the awards can be.
The main feature of the game is the free spins round, where 3, 4, or 5 scatters landing in view will award 10, 15, or 20 spins, respectively. During this bonus, fewer keys are required to fill the meter, with 9 levels in total to hit before the game maxes out, offering the biggest prizes possible.
Bonus Buy
AvatarUX has added several bonus buy options for players to pick from if they wish to skip the base game.
- 10 Free Spins: Costs 60x the bet.
- 15 Free Spins: Costs 150x the bet.
- 20 Free Spins: Costs 400x the bet.
Pros
- The key/safe meter is active in the base game and is not just reserved for the free spins round.
- Multiple bonus buy options.
- Includes wilds with big multipliers attached.
Cons
- No clear documentation on how many levels there are to activate.
- RTP can reach as low as 90.5%.
- Not ideal for those who dislike collection-based slots.
The Vault Chase Slot Review Final Thoughts
I'm still enjoying AvatarUX's move away from PopWins and feel it's only a matter of time now until they release an absolute banger. Unfortunately, from my perspective at least, The Vault Chase isn't that game, although it will have some aspects that players enjoy.
The key meter being active in the base game is one such point, a good max win of 10,000x is another, and the multiple bonus buy options are a standout feature of the game. However, I feel the collection part of the game will be a turn-off for some players; the low RTP could prove to be another issue, and it's very frustrating when you do finally max out the meter in the bonus, only for the safe symbols to not land and scupper your shot at glory.
