Slot Overview

Tango of Chaos is a Peter & Sons slot that’s designed around a unique 6×6 grid with 46,656 ways to win. The game offers cascading symbols, an increasing multiplier, free spins, a separate bonus game, and a maximum win potential of 10,000x, so there’s a lot going on. We’ve been very impressed with a lot of the providers latest releases, but does Tango of Chaos live up to expectations? Let’s find out!

Gameplay & Bonus Features

Tango of Chaos is played on a 6×6 grid with 46,656 ways to win. Wins are paid from left to right. You can bet from €0.10 to €100 per spin, and the RTP is set at exactly 96%; pretty much standard for Peter and Sons’ games at this point. Now, the game uses a cascading reels mechanic, so winning symbols are removed, and new ones drop down to take their place.

You’ll also notice that the base game has a multiplier mechanic active, and this always begins at 1x. It increases whenever atom symbols are activated in the respective areas of the grid and collected atoms add +1 to the multiplier. Once the spin ends, the multiplier resets. You’ll also find a transformation feature, which is activated by syringe symbols. During each spin, up to three syringes can be collected, and once no more wins are formed, each syringe then selects symbols on the reels and turns them into the same type.

The game’s main free spins bonus is triggered by landing three scatter symbols anywhere in view, and you’ll then receive seven free games, with any additional scatters in view adding one more spin. During the bonus, the multiplier carries over from the base game and no longer resets between spins, which is where the majority of the game’s win potential is found in our opinion.

Tango of Chaos also includes a separate bonus game, which is your typical Respin feature. Once triggered, you begin with 3 respins, and these continue for as long as new coin symbols land. The feature ends when you fill the screen or fail to land any additional symbols for three consecutive spins, at which point you’re awarded the sum of all coins.

Bonus Buy & Golden Bet

Tango of Chaos includes a few side bets, too, with the first being the Golden Bet. This costs 1.5x per spin, and it doubles the chance of you landing the free spins naturally. You can also buy into the free spins and bonus games for 50x and 60x, respectively.

Theme & Design

From a visual perspective, Tango of Chaos may not be one of the best-looking Peter and Sons games we’ve ever seen, but it’s presented nicely enough. You’ll find yourself plunged into a laboratory when you load up the game, with a rather strange Frankenstein-like creature pacing around and potions and monsters on the reels. It’s not the most complex-looking game in the world, but Peter and Sons has done a fairly good job with it.

On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see a lady’s silhouette through a window, and on the left side, you’ll see a safe and a multiplier tally in the top left-hand corner. For us, it gives off an overall feel similar to Rust World, but it’s not quite up to the same levels of quality as, say, Steamworks Gears of Fortune.

Pros

  • Win up to 10,000x your bet
  • Free Spins + Bonus Game
  • Both Bonus Buys are very affordable; 50x and 60x

Cons

  • There are a lot of features and mechanics to keep up with
  • Bonuses are quite low-variance, so expect lots of poor-paying features
  • Bonus Buys/Ante Bet unavailable in some regions

Final Thoughts

Tango of Chaos is one of those Peter & Sons releases that doesn’t try to appeal to everyone, and that, for us, is what actually makes it so appealing. Yes, it’s all quite eccentric; it’s very "busy", and there’s a lot going on, but we love the combination of cascades, transformations and multipliers, and when all the features come together, you really can hit some impressive wins.

Now, there’s no denying the fact that (despite being a high-variance game with a maximum win potential of 10,000x), both bonus rounds are designed around somewhat of a low-variance maths model, and that’s evident by their low feature-buy costs of 50-60x.

Still, this just makes us like the game even more, because the features are actually affordable, and if you’re a fan of Peter and Sons, and enjoy bonus-heavy games with lots of action, Tango of Chaos is definitely one to check out!
