Theme & Design

Sugar (or candy as it’s better known as in the US) themed slots have proven insanely popular, pretty much since the dawn of slot machines, but in recent years they’ve become increasingly popular. Hits like Sugar Rush and Sweet Bonanza 1000 proved to be monumentally successful for Pragmatic Play, and many other studios are now copying the theme and format.

Sweet Craze is ok visually, and it’s bright, vibrant, and filled with sugary treats like chocolate, donuts, cookies, macaroons, jelly beans, and assorted candies. The chubby host of the game, found on the right-hand side of the reels, is nodding along joyfully (presumably because he has a bag full of treats), and the backdrop looks to be some sort of fantasy-inspired candy world.

Sweet Craze Gameplay & Bonus Features

Sweet Craze is played on a 7×7 grid, and the slot uses a cluster-pays mechanic. To form a win, you simply need to land 5 or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. When you do, the symbols involved with the win disappear, and new ones drop down to take their place. 

The game’s default RTP is 96.54% (although all Pragmatic Play slots are available in varying RTP settings), and you can bet between €0.20 and €240 per spin.

Now, at the core of the game are the Chest and Money symbols. When a Chest lands and there’s a win on the screen, it transforms into a Money symbol worth between 2x and 500x. Unlike regular symbols, these Money symbols don’t disappear after tumbles. Instead, they lock in place and increase their multipliers by +1 after each tumble in the same spin. Once the cascades end, their total value + any accumulated multipliers is awarded as a win.

The game’s free spins bonus round is triggered by landing 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatter symbols anywhere in view, and doing so awards you with between 10 and 16 spins.

During the bonus round, Money symbols stay locked on the grid for the duration of the feature, and their multipliers do not reset between spins. You can also re-trigger additional spins (between 5 and 16), and this is where the real win potential lies, especially if you get a few high-value Money symbols with high multipliers!

Special Bets & Buy Feature

Pragmatic Play has included a few different Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options in Sweet Craze. Toggling the Ante Bet doubles your base game stake but makes it 5x more likely that you’ll land the free spins bonus round naturally, while the Super Spins increases your bet by 10x and guarantees that at least one Chest symbol will land per spin.

Note: If you play the Super Spins Ante Bet, it’s not possible to trigger the free spins bonus round.

You can also buy into two different free spins bonus rounds. The standard free spins round costs 100x your bet, while the Super free spins round costs 500x, the latter of which sees all Money symbols starting with a guaranteed 10x multiplier.
