Theme & Design

Considering TaDa Gaming is still a relatively small-time software provider, we were actually pleasantly surprised with the game’s design. The backdrop is, quite simply, stunning, and it really looks like… well, a masterpiece! There are stunningly designed nebulas and supernovas, and the design has a modern sci-fi finish. That said, the reels themselves are a little bland.

Of course, as you’ll see from later in this review, the game bears a LOT of resemblance to NetEnt’s Starburst, but it also gives off similar vibes to Cosmic Cash from Pragmatic Play, both of which feature a similar galactic vibe.

Supernova Gameplay & Features

Supernova is played on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 10 fixed paylines that pay both left to right and right to left. (Are you starting to see the similarities with Starburst, yet?) You can bet between €0.20 and €200 per spin, and the game offers a fairly impressive maximum win potential of 4,000x. Unfortunately, the RTP is not stated in the game’s rules.

Now, the Wild symbol is the heart of the game. It appears only on reels 2, 3, and 4, and it substitutes for all other symbols. When it lands, it expands to fill the entire reel, and it then triggers a re-spin feature. The expanded Wild reel locks in place while the remaining reels respin. If another Wild appears during the respin, the process repeats, with each new Wild reel locking in, and another respin following. This continues until no new Wilds land, at which point the feature ends.

Now, Supernova also features an Extra Bet option. Activating it doubles the stake, but it also unlocks a multiplier system above the middle three reels. If one multiplier reel activates, all wins are doubled; if two are active, wins are multiplied by 4x; and if all three light up, all wins are multiplied by 8x, which is pretty impressive, especially when compared to Starburst.
