Theme & Design

The action takes place aboard the USS Enterprise, with the reels displayed on a metallic console framed by holographic panels and blinking control lights. The background is fairly basic, but we like how there’s a control panel at the front, and the reels look quite cool the way they’re lit up in purple.

Visually, it’s pretty well executed, we feel, and it’s definitely an improvement on some of BGaming’s earlier titles like Aztec Magic Megaways and Alien Fruits.

Star Trek The Next Generation Gameplay & Bonus Features

At its core, Star Trek: The Next Generation operates on a 5×5 grid with 3,125 ways to win and cascading symbols. Each win removes the winning symbols, allowing new ones to drop into place. The RTP sits at 96.6%, and you can bet between €0.20 and €100 per spin.

Now, every win formed during the base game builds the Power Meter, which is a three-section charge system that triggers the Respin Bonus after at least three consecutive cascades. Each cascade also saves the winning symbols, which later define which icons populate the respin reels.

Once you manage to trigger the Respin Bonus, the game switches, and wins are now paid from both left to right and right to left. Only the top three collected symbols appear on the reels, and all symbols on the grid become mystery symbols. You simply pick one mystery symbol from the power meter, revealing one of the saved symbols. All matching symbols on the reels then transform and pay accordingly. This sequence repeats until all three symbols are revealed.

The game also offers a free spins bonus round, triggered by landing three FREE SPINS symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. You can then pick from four different options, each offering a different volatility level (starting multiplier and the amount the multiplier increases with each cascade.)
