This game has recently appeared on the fixed odds betting terminals contained within arcades and bookmakers shops in the United Kingdom, but I wasn’t sure if that meant it was particularly new. As it turns out, Stacked Fire 7s Big Spins from Inspired Gaming is a relatively new release, albeit one that certainly isn’t going to win any awards for originality! The RTP of 94.50% offered by the online version of the game is at least superior to that offered in the land-based venues, but the maximum jackpot prize is obfuscated by the fact that Inspired only states that you can win up to €250,000 – “although this may not be achievable from every bet configuration”. Considering that the maximum bet is €100 per spin, the only thing we can say with certainty is that you should be able to win 2,500x your bet using the game’s 40 paylines.

Don’t expect too much in terms of features here either – this is a very “old school” video slot in that almost all of its RTP is locked up in base game symbol combinations. That can be a good thing when a game has a relatively low number of paylines because it makes it possible to hit a big win directly from the base game, but this is a 40-pay line slot; as such, the advantage of not including many features is significantly diminished. Furthermore, because the free spins mode uses an entirely different reel set that contains only various types of Lucky 7 and wilds, you are much more likely to strike it big in that part of the game anyway.

It’s almost hard to believe that the simple idea of a “lucky seven” has almost become its own genre of online slot, but that is the reality we live in, my friends! Games such as Respin 7s and Burn 7s are almost entirely focused on the concept of the lucky number seven, and then you have games such as Sinful 7s, which take the idea even further. Lucky Sevens are also a very common sight in fruit slots as one of the higher-paying symbols, and that’s the category that I would place this game within. I could imagine showing this slot to my dad, for example, and him confusing it for a fruit machine of some kind. The symbols are well-drawn, but the repetitive sound effects are sure to drive you crazy if you don’t turn them off within the first few minutes.

The three most valuable types of symbols included in this game are all based around the lucky seven – the “on fire” variety can pay out up to 25x the total bet for a full payline of five of a kind, whilst the red and blue varieties are less valuable at 7.5x and 6x the total bet respectively. The bells can fetch up to 5x the current stake for all five symbols, as can the watermelons, whilst the oranges, grapes, and plums all max out at 2.5x each. There are no special payouts attached to the bonus or wild symbols, unfortunately.

Betting options are quite restrictive in this game, despite the relatively wide betting range of €0.20 and €100.00 per spin for the minimum/maximum permitted wagers, respectively. If you are betting towards the lower end of the spectrum, this probably won’t be an issue; if your bankroll is larger, you may find yourself frustrated by the arbitrary restrictions on how much you can bet.

The basic gameplay of Stacked Fire 7s Big Spins is much like any other video slot, but it does feature an extra row of symbols during its base game. A 5×4 reel set is a much better fit for 40 paylines than a standard 5×3 one, so this makes sense – you’ll still need at least three matching symbols on a payline starting from the leftmost reel to score a win though.

Wild Symbols

This is the only special feature of note available in the base game – wilds appear on reels two, three, and four only and always appear in stacks. This makes it impossible to hit a full payline of wilds but does mean that you can simultaneously hit regular symbol wins on a large number of paylines.

This part of the game is played using special reels that only contain the three highest-paying lucky seven symbols plus stacks of wilds. This setup makes it much more likely that you will hit a big win but also makes it a little trickier to hit a win in the first place, as you are more likely to have mismatched symbols on the first three reels. After playing a few bonus rounds, I concluded that this is by far the most profitable part of the game.

It’s unclear exactly how much you can win as a multiple of your bet.
The basic paytable prizes are not overly impressive.
Not many features – although that may not be a huge problem for the players likely to enjoy this machine.

Final Thoughts

This isn’t the type of slot I enjoy personally, but I believe there is a large enough number of people who do like this style of game to warrant recommending players to give it a chance. Stacked Fire 7s combines the old and the new in many ways, but the low standard prizes available on the paytable limited my interest.
