Theme & Design

We’ve seen online gambling communities teaming with software providers to create slots before, so Sea of Spirits definitely isn’t the first. In fact, CasinoGrounds themselves partnered with Relax Gaming to create Beast Mode, to a high degree of success. Sea of Spirits is designed around a pirate theme, and while this is certainly nothing new, it’s a tried-and-tested genre with players, and hits like Dead Man’s Riches and Captain Venture have become hugely popular with players.

Sea of Spirits isn’t your usual pirate-themed slot, however. There are no cliché parrots or  palm trees here, and instead, you’ll be plunged into a dark world of haunted waters, ghost ships, and the promises of sunken gold! It looks great, and it’s hard to find fault with Push Gaming’s design approach here.

Sea of Spirits Gameplay & Bonus Features

Sea of Spirits starts with a 6×4 reel layout and a default 4,096-ways-to-win mechanic. This can change, however, as you’ll soon see. You can wager between €0.10 and €100 per spin, and the game offers an above-average RTP of 96.36%.

Now, at the core of Sea of Spirits is its Frames mechanic, and these are glowing overlays that appear randomly on the reels. These frames are, initially, dormant until they’re triggered by one of three different Activator symbols:

• Symbol Sync Activator – All Frames turn into the same random symbol.
• Wild Activator – Every Frame becomes a wild symbol for that spin.
• Coin Activator – Triggers the Coin Reveal bonus across all visible Frames.

The first two are fairly self-explanatory, but the Coin Reveal Feature is a bonus in itself, really. When it’s triggered, each Frame reveals prizes that display instant multipliers of between 1x and 10,000x, Collector symbols, or Multipliers. Sometimes, Bonus or Super Bonus symbols can land, too, awarding entry into the main bonus rounds.

Now, landing three bonus symbols triggers 5 Free Spins, while a Super Bonus (2 Bonus + 1 Super Bonus symbol) awards you with 8 free spins, with at least one guaranteed Gold Frame.

During the free spins bonus round, Frames become sticky, locking in place for the duration of the feature. They can also upgrade from Bronze, to Silver, and then to Gold. Silver Frames split into two symbols, or wilds, and Gold Frames split into three! Each Frame’s tier determines the quality of the coin rewards it can generate, too, and it’s also possible to receive Extra Spin symbols for more spins.

Now, there’s also a rare feature called Overpowered Bonus Mode. This can randomly trigger at the start of a feature, and when it does, the Frame quality, Activator quality, and the multiplier values are all boosted significantly.

Bonus Buys & Push Bets

Sea of Spirits also offers multiple buy options for players who want to jump straight into the action: you can buy the Standard Bonus for 100x your bet, the Super Bonus for 500x your bet, or the Chance Wheel for 150x your bet, which gives you a 25% chance of the Standard Bonus, a 25% chance of the Super Bonus, and a 50% chance of nothing!

It’s also possible to buy into the Coin Reveal Bonus for 500x your bet, which awards you a full grid of Bronze Frames and a Coin Activator.

Finally, Push Gaming has included two Push Bets. You can increase your base game stake by 50% for a 2.5x chance of landing the bonus round naturally, or increase your stake by 400% for a 9.5x higher chance.
