Slot Overview
ROBOlab is a quirky new release from Max Win Gaming that’s designed all around a collector-style bonus where multiplier symbols, payer/collector mechanics, and persistent prizes can offer wins of up to 100,000x! It’s a simple-looking game but packed with features and potential; so, is it worth a shot? Find out in this detailed review.
Theme & Design
ROBOlab drops you into a rusted, steampunk-flavoured robot workshop, where you’ll see a strange-looking robot-making machine in the background. It’s pretty steampunk-inspired, and it gives off slight Steam Tower vibes, along with some nods to Robocop Cash Collect.
Aside from the reels themselves, there’s not a huge amount going on in ROBOlab, and Max Win Gaming has chosen to keep things looking quite simple. Still, it looks decent enough, and the symbols are neatly designed and look crisp, too.

ROBOlab Gameplay & Bonus Features
ROBOlab is played on a five-reel, four-row layout with 1024 ways to win, so wins are formed by landing 3+ matching symbols from left to right. You can bet between €0.10 and €2,000 per spin, and the game offers an RTP of 96.00%.
The game revolves almost entirely around the free spins bonus round, which is triggered by landing 3+ scatter symbols anywhere in view. These bonus symbols instantly transform into multiplier tiles showing values between 1x and 10x, and you’re then transported to a classic Hold & Respins-style feature. Here, only special symbols or blanks can land. Any time you land a symbol, your re-spin counter resets to 3.
Alongside normal multiplier tiles, two special symbols can hit: The Payer, which selects one multiplier on the board and adds that amount to every other multiplier, and The Collector, which collects all multipliers in view before adding their value to its own tile. It’s possible to land multiple Payer/Collector symbols, and if you manage to fill all reel positions, you win an instant prize of 1,000x on top of everything else!
The re-spin bonus simply continues until you fill the screen with symbols or until you fail to land any new symbols for three consecutive re-spins.
Pros
- Huge maximum win potential of 100,000x.
- Payer/Collector mechanics allow for high multipliers during the bonus.
- Visually very appealing and well-designed.
Cons
- It’s VERY similar to Money Train.
- The base game offers no modifiers or side action.
- No special symbols besides Payers/Collectors.
ROBOlab Slot Review Final Thoughts
ROBOlab is a decent Max Win Gaming release on the face of it, and it’s definitely a good looking slot. We like the game’s design, and the blend of steampunk/robot vibes makes for something quite unusual; it works well, visually.
Unfortunately, despite ROBOlab offering a superb maximum win potential of 100,000x, we can’t help but feel like the game has missed the mark. It’s clearly very similar to Money Train 3 and 4, but with only Collector/Payer symbols, the bonus rounds are significantly less exciting. In Money Train games, for example, there are Snipers, Collector-Payers, Necromancers, and more, and this is what helps to make the bonuses so much fun.
In ROBOlab, it’s, essentially, nothing more than a standard Hold & Win Respin bonus, with occasional Collectors and Payers landing; there are no multipliers or side modifiers, and this all makes for quite a boring game, unfortunately.
Yes, the maximum win potential is solid and will appeal to players, but if you’re looking for a game with layered bonus action, and want plenty of variety and enjoyment, ROBOlab isn’t worth your time, we feel.
