Game Overview
I spent a lot of time playing the original Rise of Olympus, so I was excited to learn that Play’N’Go has been busy working on a sequel. The suffix “100” that has been tacked on to the end of the title of the slot refers to two things; first, the game can potentially award a maximum of 100 free spins, and second, it also offers multipliers of up to 100x. Aside from these changes, Rise of Olympus 100 looks very similar to the original on the face of it; it’s a grid slot, meaning there are no pay lines or pay ways to speak of, whilst the maximum win of 15,000x your bet is sure to be enough to interest every slot player with a penchant for high volatility. There’s no word on the game’s RTP just yet, but Play’N’Go usually default their games to over 96% but allow casinos to select lower RTPs if they wish – be careful to make sure that your favourite casino is offering the full RTP version of the game.
The game features three modifiers based on Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus – three of the most famous gods of Greek mythology. These modifiers only activate on non-winning spins during the base game but activate on every spin during the free spins feature. The meter displayed on the left of the reel set can be filled by hitting large winning combinations and will trigger the “Wrath of Olympus” feature if you fill it all the way to the top.

Rise Of Olympus 100 Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The lands of Olympus are another popular theme with online slot developers. Just recently, Pragmatic Play released their game, Gates of Olympus, which was an excellent slot, although primarily based on an earlier successful game, making it a quick and safe release for the company. Chronicles of Olympus X UP was a little more interesting, in my opinion, but neither of these games measured up to Play’N’Go’s original Rise of Olympus for me. The extra winning potential offered in this upgraded and enhanced version of Rise of Olympus should mean that it’s a definite winner for fans of the original game – but let’s check out the paytable and features before we make any such definitive statements!
As a grid slot, there aren’t too many different symbols on the paytable of Rise of Olympus 100. The three god characters are the higher-paying symbols, all three of which are worth 10x your current bet for a five-of-a-kind combination. Note that even though this is a grid slot, wins are still awarded for adjacent symbols – newer grid slots have taken to making all symbols into scatters instead, but Play’N’Go has stuck with the original formula in this release. If you line up any three, four, or five of the gods on adjacent positions, this will also count as a winning combination, although the payout will be half of what it would be if all five symbols matched, so 5x your bet for any mixed set of the three gods. There are four more lower-paying symbols, a harp and a mask, which both pay 3x your bet for five-of-a-kind, then a trident and a lightning bolt which are worth a little less at 2x the current stake for five adjacent symbols. There’s also a gold coin symbol which is wild and will pay you 50x your current bet should somehow manage to line up five of them on adjacent positions.
Play’N’Go’s typical user interface is employed here, meaning that there are always five quick bet buttons available, located below the reel set. The minimum bet is set at €0.20 per round, whilst the maximum is €100.00 for each spin.
Base Game & Modifiers
The standard playfield is arranged in a 5×5 format, and each time you hit the spin button, 25 new symbols will drop into view in a random configuration. There are no “reel strips” as such – you could theoretically hit a full screen of the same symbol under these mechanics, although I would guess that the chances of such an event ever occurring would be unbelievably rare.
Wins are awarded for hitting three or more matching symbols on adjacent positions either horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid – they do not need to start from the left, unlike most other online slots.
One of the three gods will be shown on the right of the reel set at all times, and only the modifier associated with that god can activate on the current spin. Also, remember that all three of these modifiers only activate on non-winning spins during the base game.
Hades Modifier
When Hades is summoned, he will choose one of the lower paying symbols to convert into god symbols. This can be extremely useful and often result in a non-winning spin turning into a win.
Poseidon Modifier
Poseidon will gift you one or two wild symbols each time he is summoned, although I often find that he places these wilds in the most useless positions imaginable! Occasionally, luck will come your way, and the wilds will help you form a winning combination, but on the whole, I’d say this is probably my least favourite of the three modifiers.
Zeus Modifier
Zeus is more powerful than Hades, as his unique ability is to convert not one but two lower paying symbols into god symbols! Clearly, this is a better outcome than the Hades modifier and is the best one of the three, in my opinion.
Rise Of Olympus 100 Slot Bonus Features
There are two main features in Rise of Olympus 100, both of which were already present in the original game, although the free spins feature is significantly enhanced in this new release.
With Of Olympus Feature
First up, every winning combination of god symbols scored on the grid will contribute to filling up the meter displayed on the left of the grid. A three-symbol win will fill one section of the meter, whilst a four symbol win increases this to two, and a five symbol win will immediately fill the meter all the way up to three sections.
When the Wrath of Olympus is triggered, all three gods will use their powers on the currently shown grid; if this results in the entire screen being cleared, you will then win the free spins feature.
Free Spins
During the free spins feature, an ascending multiplier will increase each time you score a win. This can reach as high as 100x and does not reset until the end of the free spins round. Fill the god meter during this round, and you’ll be awarded some extra spins too.
If you can clear the grid during this mode, the game will award you a prize of 50x your bet. Not bad, but better yet, this number will also be multiplied by your currently active multiplier! For example, if you have reached 20x when you clear the screen, you will be paid 1,000x your bet instead!
The new additions to this feature make this a much more exciting bonus round than the one included in the original game. The 15,000x jackpot always feels tantalisingly within reach whenever you play!
