Slot Overview

Revolvero is a high-variance video slot from Red Tiger Gaming that throws you into a tense Wild West duel. The game is designed around bouncing Wilds, intense Showdowns, and multi-layered Free Spins. With a maximum win potential of up to 15,000x, it certainly offers more potential than most Red Tiger games. But is Revolvero any good, and should you give it a spin? Find out in this detailed slot review.

Theme & Design

Wild West-themed slots have always done very well in the online gambling world. Whether it’s original classics like NetEnt’s Dead or Alive or more recent releases like Wild West Gold Megaways from Pragmatic Play, time and time again, the Wild West theme proves to be a huge hit with players.

Revolvero itself boasts a pretty good design, and the Wild West theme is well-presented, we feel. The reels are set in a desolate frontier landscape, and you’ll see rocky plains framed by rocky plains, cacti, and a dusty, misty sky in the background, with a yellow hue.

Above and below the main reels sit two horizontal Gunslinger reels, and here, cowboys go head-to-head and contribute to the game’s core mechanic; more on this and how it works shortly.

Revolvero Gameplay & Bonus Features

Revolvero is played on a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 20 fixed paylines. You can bet between €0.10 and €50.00 per spin. The game has a default RTP of 96.14%, but like all Red Tiger releases, lower RTP configurations are available, too.

Now, the Showdown mechanic forms a core part of the game. There are two horizontal reels above and below the main reel set. These display a random number of Wilds on each spin. When two Gunslingers land directly opposite one another, a Showdown is triggered. The losing Gunslinger drops all of their Wilds onto random reel positions. If a Wild lands on top of another Wild, its multiplier doubles.

If Gunslingers land but not opposite one another, a Nudge feature can also trigger. When this happens, both Gunslingers are “nudged” onto the same reel, which triggers an instant Showdown.

Revolvero’s main bonus round is a Free Spins feature, triggered by landing 3 Bonus Scatter symbols in view. Doing so awards you with 5 spins, and any Wild symbols that land during the feature lock in place. You can also land additional Scatters to receive +1 spins.

Revolvero also contains a Super Free Spins Bonus, triggered directly by landing one Super Bonus Scatter and two Bonus Scatters on the same spin, or by landing 1 Super Scatter during the standard Free Spins. Again, you receive five free spins, but here, a Showdown is guaranteed to happen on every spin.

Buy Feature

Revolvero contains three Bonus Buy options. You can pay 15x to trigger a Showdown, 100x to buy the standard Free Spins, or 500x to buy the Super Free Spins.

Pros

  • Win up to 15,000x.
  • Pretty exciting Showdown mechanic.
  • 3 Bonus Buy options.

Cons

  • High volatility leads to quite a dead base game.
  • Base game wins rely heavily Gunslingers matching.
  • Feature Buy options unavailable in some regions.

Revolvero Slot Review Final Thoughts

Red Tiger Gaming is a software provider who enjoyed pretty mainstream success in the later 2010s, but in recent years, they’ve kind of dropped off the map a bit. Ever since they started experimenting with Megaways mechanics, we feel they’ve just become a lot less popular with players, and this is a shame in our eyes, as they’re responsible for producing some of the best-looking slots in the industry.

Nonetheless, they’re trying to work their way back into the market, and Revolvero is a fairly good effort at doing just that. Unlike many of their older releases, the game boasts a solid maximum win potential of 15,000x, and we really like the dueling gunslinger concept. It’s unique, innovative, and quite fun, and while the base game is quite dependent on it (for wins), Showdowns happen frequently enough, in our experience, that the gameplay is interesting and engaging.

Yes, the volatility is definitely on the high end. While smaller wins land quite a lot, big wins are pretty few and far between. But when they do show their face, they can easily be in the 500x+ range. So overall, a pretty impressive effort from Red Tiger. Revolvero is a solid release, and if you enjoy showdown-style mechanics and high-risk, high-reward gameplay, this one is definitely worth a spin!
