Slot Overview
Red Hot Eruption is a classic-meets-modern slot from Blueprint Gaming, and the game combines a familiar fruit symbol theme with Cash Collect mechanics, a growing Cash Volcano, and a pretty fast-paced bonus. With a maximum win potential of up to 8,000x, is Red Hot Eruption worth playing? Or is it going to burn you (and your balance) if you try? Let’s find out.
Theme & Design
Red Hot Eruption leans heavily into a volcanic theme, and you’ll see molten lava, glowing embers, and a towering volcano visible behind the main reels. The visual style is actually quite impressive, and the game uses classic fruit symbols, along with bells, stars, and 7s.
While the theme is totally different, we can’t help but feel some similarities between Red Hot Eruption and King Kong Cashpots, but if it’s other volcano-themed video slots you’re interested in learning about, then we suppose it bears more similarities to Pragmatic Play’s Volcano Goddess.

Red Hot Eruption Gameplay & Bonus Features
Red Hot Eruption uses a 3-reel layout with 5 fixed paylines, paying wins from left to right. You can bet between €0.10 and €30 per spin, and the game runs at an RTP of 95.0%, both in standard play and Power Play mode.
Now, in the base game, you’ll notice Cash Prize symbols, and these can land on reels 1 and 3. They display values of between 1x and 5x, and on the second reel you’ll also see a Collect symbol. When this lands, it collects all visible Cash Prize symbols.
Red Hot Eruption also has a Cash Volcano. Every time you land a Collect symbol, it upgrades the Volcano’s prize level, increasing the potential payouts it can award. The Cash Volcano has five levels, ranging from 5x to 15x at Level 1, up to 500x-2,000x at Level 5. Once a cash prize is awarded from the volcano, its values reset back to the starting level.
Red Hot Eruption’s main feature is the Red Hot Bonus, and this is triggered when Cash Prize symbols land on reels 1 and 3, and a Collect symbol lands on reel 2. During the bonus, the Collect symbol locks in place, and the feature plays out over a respin-style mechanic.
Cash Prize symbols add to the Collect total, additional Collect symbols upgrade the Cash Volcano, and Red Hot symbols instantly award one of the current volcano prizes. The bonus continues until all spins are used, at which point you’re paid the value of all collected prizes!
Power Play
Red Hot Eruption includes an optional Power Play mode, and if you choose to play with this toggled on, your base game stake increases by 5x. Power Play spins are played on a separate reel set, where only Cash Prize, Collect, and Red Hot symbols can appear.
Pros
- Win up to 8,000x your bet.
- Clear, easy to understand, engaging Cash Collect mechanics.
- Power Play option acts as a de facto Bonus Buy.
Cons
- RTP is below average at 95.00%.
- The volcano resets a lot, so there’s always new progression to build.
- Highly volatile, especially without using Power Play
Red Hot Eruption Slot Review Final Thoughts
Red Hot Eruption is the second recent release from Blueprint Gaming that goes ‘back to basics’ and revolves around a 3x3 layout. Yes, this type of game won’t be for everyone, but it does what its design promises. It delivers a focused, feature-driven slot built around increasing cash values and progression-based payouts. The simplicity of the reel structure allows the Cash Collect and Cash Volcano mechanics to form pretty much all of the slot’s action, and while you can land three-of-a-kind payouts, it’s pretty much always going to be the Collect-based wins you’ll notice.
Volatility is on the medium-to-high side, with much of the game’s potential locked behind the Red Hot Bonus and higher Cash Volcano levels. Power Play makes it easier to reach these levels of win potential, and while it’s not technically a Bonus Buy, it does feel like one, at a much lower cost than in most games.
Yes, the RTP is a little on the low side, but this isn’t anything new for Blueprint Gaming, and with a maximum win potential of 8,000x (quite unusual for a 3x3 game like this), it’s not a bad slot overall. It’s fun for short bursts, but we can’t see it being a go-to game for players wanting extended sessions. Still, it’s not bad, and if it’s the kind of game you like the look of, you’d do well to give it a few spins!
