Game Overview

There’s something spicy going on over at the headquarters of Red Tiger Gaming. Perhaps some secret sauce gaming recipe that’s set to take the world by storm is being conjured up? Well, whatever it is, the wait is over, and we’re ready to look at the studio’s slot release titled Red Hot BBQ. This is a 20 payline game that comes with an RTP of 95.66% and a maximum win of just 1,110x bet.

Onto the feature set, and we have a couple of bits to tell you about. First up is the Mystery Sauce symbols, which can land randomly in any position during a base game and bonus round spin. Once the reels have come to a halt, all instances of the mystery symbol will transform into the same selected symbol from the upper tier of the paytable. The game heats up further in the free spins feature, triggered when three or more scatters land in view. During this round, a Hot Bar is active and filling this with special pepper symbols will cause the current symbol to upgrade to the next in line. Finally, we have a bonus option for those looking for instant slot gratification. This is available at the cost of 100x the bet.

Are you a fan of all things spicy? Do you have what it takes to chomp on the meanest chilli around? Let’s put you to the test and fire up our free demo slot of Red Hot BBQ to find out. It’s ready and waiting below.

Red Hot Bbq Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Does being bigger mean that it’s better? Hmm, that’s certainly not the case when it comes to chilli, and if you’re crazy enough to try the world’s hottest chilli named the Carolina Reaper, you’ll likely learn that lesson the hard way. As for Red Hot BBQ, I’d like to tell you that this is a theme of an online slot that has never been released before, but alas, Red Tiger has been beaten to it by several games, a couple of which are worth a mention. The first of these is Big Time Gaming’s Extra Chilli Megaways which is arguably one of the most well-known titles in the Megaways niche, but if you haven’t checked out Slotmill’s title, Chilli Bandits, then that’s certainly worth a look too, as it’s a whole lot of fun to play.

The next stop is the paytable, and the most valuable symbol is the Ghost Pepper, worth 15x for a five a kind win. Next, we have the Habanero, which will pay 12x for a completed payline, followed by the Jalapeño at 10x. Finalising the premium paying section is the Serrano, which awards 8x for a full line of five, the onion, which pays 6x; and last up is the garlic, paying 4x for a complete line. Four classic royal symbols represent the low pays within the slot. These are the Ace, valued at 3x for a five of a kind hit, the King at 2x, the Queen at 1.5x, and finally, the Jack, worth 1x for a completed line of five.

Supposedly we could all do with a bit of spice in our lives, and that must be the belief at Red Tiger, as the betting range on Red Hot BBQ starts from a minimum of €0.10 a spin. Players then have the option of choosing from thirteen different stake sizes before reaching the maximum bet of €80.

Base Game & Modifiers

Red Hot Bbq Slot Base Game

Red Hot BBQ is played across a traditional reel format of 5×3 with a total of 20 paylines active on every spin. Landing at least three matching symbols from left to right and on adjacent reels is required for the corresponding payout to be credited to your balance.

Mystery Sauce

The mystery sauce scatters are present in the base game and the free spins feature. When these symbols land in view and the reels stop for the current spin, all scatters will transform into one of the randomly selected premium-paying symbols from the paytable.

Red Hot Bbq Slot Bonus Features

Red Hot Bbq Slot Free Spins Feature

The free spins bonus is the main feature on Red Hot BBQ, and you will need to land a minimum of three scatters in view to trigger it. Hitting three will award 9 free spins, whilst four and five will reward you with 12 and 15 spins to begin the bonus with respectively.

Free Spins

Once the free spins are active, the Hot Bar will also come into play. This is situated at the top of the reels and has five stages that players can unlock. To progress through these levels, you will need to collect the special Pepper Markers that randomly appear on some of the Mystery Sauce symbols.

For each three you collect, you will advance to the next level, and all mystery reveals from that point onwards can only display a minimum of your current progress. Furthermore, completing the first two stages of the Hot Bar will award two extra spins. Completing each of the second two stages awards three extra spins, and completing the fifth and final stage awards five extra bonus spins.

Bonus Buy

Players who want to skip the base game and get straight to the free spins bonus can do so through the bonus buy option if it is available in their jurisdiction. Accessing this feature will cost 100x the current bet.

Pros

  • Lower volatile game for those who want to win smaller amounts more often.
  • Different theme that's not been overly used within the industry.

Cons

  • Low maximum win.
  • Lack of base game modifiers.

Final Thoughts

I can't say I didn't enjoy playing this game, but it failed to captivate me like previous releases from Red Tiger Gaming. However, if you're a player that prefers to spin the reels on a game with a much lower level of volatility, then this is a game I suspect you may just like.My best advice would be to try the slot out for yourself in our demo above. But for me, rather than this being a piping hot dish from your local BBQ restaurant, it's more like a £0.99p curry from the freezer at Tescos.
