Game Overview
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Egypt remains a place of fascination for me, even to the point where online slots themed upon the land of the pharaohs fail to bore me, well, most of the time anyway. I guess that theory is about to be put to the test once more, as we’re ready to hit the Nile and scale the pyramids in the Play’n GO slot Ra’s Reckoning, a 6-reel cluster pays game with coin reveals, free spins, and a maximum win of 50,000x.
Theme & Design
You might already be expecting a classic tomb/temple setting waiting for you in Ra’s Reckoning, but Play’n GO has flipped the script in this release and gone for a cartoon design, which, to be fair to the studio, seems to work well and does make a change from the generic style we often see churned out by multiple developers month after month.
We’ll soon get to the interesting part (the features), but first, it’s my time to shine with some recommendations for you to try out that are similar in one way or another to today’s review. So, for reasons that will soon become apparent, I’m going to start by sending you over to our Le Bandit demo from Hacksaw Gaming and then do a complete U-turn and head back to the Egyptian slot niche, where I’ll transport you to one of the first games to take off in the genre, Book of Dead.

Ra’s Reckoning Gameplay & Features
Play’n GO’s Ra’s Reckoning is a 6-reel, 5-row online slot with a cluster pays engine and an RTP of 96%. Staking options are plentiful, with players able to bet from a minimum of €0.10 a spin up to a maximum of €100.
Into the game features now, and we have the cascading reels mechanic in play, removing winning symbols and all instances of them from the playfield and replacing them with new ones. Furthermore, each time a symbol is removed, it leaves a bronze mark behind, which can be upgraded to silver and then gold if you hit more wins in the same position. If a Ra symbol then appears in view, the marks transform into coins, collectors or multipliers.
The final feature to tell you about is the main round, and there are two variations of this, a standard round and a super round, as explained below.
- 3 scatter trigger: Awards 8 free spins; all marked symbols remain persistent until they are triggered by Ra.
- 4, 5, and 6 scatter trigger: Awards 8, 10, and 12 spins, respectively. During this version of the spins, marked symbols remain persistent even after being activated.
Pros
- Uses features that are well-known and popular.
- Ra activates the coins quite a lot in the base game.
- Huge max win of 50,000x.
Cons
- Just a clone of Hacksaw's "Le series"
- No bonus buy.
- A massive max win, but very unlikely to ever be won.
Ra's Reckoning Slot Review Final Thoughts
When I first played a couple of spins on Ra's Reckoning, I expected it was going to be a Sugar Rush 1000 clone, so at least I was a little surprised to see it was a Le Bandit clone of sorts instead.
To be fair to the slot, it might be a copy and paste in many ways, but the activation symbol does appear quite a lot in the base game, which isn't always the case in Hacksaw's versions.
However, despite this, I can't see it winning many people over, especially as Play'n GO are against bonus buys, so any features you do get are going to have to be spun in naturally, and let's be honest, when you're playing a demo, it's not likely that you're sticking around for that, is it?
