If you thought only the movie industry and the Jurassic Park franchise were cashing in on the popularity of the dinosaurs, then you clearly haven’t heard about online slot provider Play’n Go. Today, we bring you the 3rd title in their dino-themed series, the Raging Rex 3 slot. As for a run-through of the basic stats, this 6-reel game features 4,096 ways to win, an RTP of 96.20%, and a maximum win of 30,000x bet.
There’s quite a bit to discuss regarding the bonuses and modifiers, so let’s have a quick overview to begin. The base game includes the Rex Respins, triggered when the full reel T-Rex symbol lands. Watch as the most feared dinosaur and its hatchlings walk across the reels, helping you to win. If you land a minimum of three scatters in view, then the main bonus will be triggered, where you have the choice of three features. These are Feeding Frenzy, Hatchling Mania and Survival. We’ll cover these in more detail further on in the review.
Were you a big fan of the previous two slots in this series? Or is this your first sample of the franchise? Whichever it may be, we have added a free Raging Rex 3 slot demo for you to try out. Take it for a few spins below, and don’t worry, unlike T-Rex, it doesn’t bite.

Raging Rex 3 Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
It seems like an eternity since Jurrasic Park was first released in 1993, with the movie bringing back to life the species which once dominated our planet some 65 million years ago. It’s fair to say that Dinosaurs are just as popular as they were upon the release of that movie, with the Jurassic franchise earning over $6 billion to date and showing little signs of slowing up. Of course, the slot industry has coined in on the popularity too, with NetEnt grabbing the Jurrasic license and initially creating the Jurrasic Park slot before a further three releases followed, too. Another provider cashing in was Play’n Go, and after the development and success of Raging Rex and Raging Rex 2, we now have a third instalment to cast our eyes over.
Starting at the paytable, we have the T-Rex hatchling, Raptor and Dilophosaurus sharing the top spot, all with equal payouts of 6x bet for a six of a kind win. The remaining premium-paying symbols are the Triceratops and Parasaurolophus, which will both award 4x for a completed line of six. Dropping down to the low pays, we find they are represented by six fossils, with the Red, Orange and Purple Fossils paying 1.4x for a winning combo of six, whilst the Green, Blue and Cream symbols all pay 1x for a six of a kind hit.
Play’n Go has made sure its Raging Rex 3 slot has a good selection of bets for players to choose from, with the well-known stake selector slider in place at the bottom of the reels. To get the reels spinning, punters can pick from a whole host of bet sizes between the minimum/maximum limits of €0.10 and €100, respectively.
Raging Rex 3 Slot Base Game
Entering the Jurassic period on Play’n Go’s Raging Rex 3 slot will take you to a game format of six reels and four rows, where a total of 4,096 paylines are active on every spin. Landing three matching symbols on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel first will add the corresponding win value from the paytable to your playing credit.
Rex Respins
The full reel Rex can land anywhere on reels 2 – 6, triggering respins when fully visible. The Rex symbol is sticky and will walk towards reel 1, one reel per spin. Any Hatchlings that land are also sticky and walk in front of or behind Rex. Up to 5 respins are granted, depending upon Rex’s landing reel.
Raging Rex 3 Slot Bonus Features
Scatter symbols are present on all six reels, and landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 will trigger the bonus rounds, with 7, 9, 11, and 13 free spins awarded, respectively. Players will then have three bonuses to choose from.
Feeding Frenzy
Feeding Frenzy Rex is sticky and may move in any direction during the free spins. A hunting target will be selected from the four paying dinosaur symbols at the start of the free spins. Whenever Rex moves across or stops on a hunting target, it will be consumed. For every 6th hunting target consumed, Rex will receive a +x1 infinitely stacking multiplier. (x2, x3, x4, x5, x6…) Hitting 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 scatters causes a re-trigger and awards +1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 free spins, respectively.
Hatchling Mania
Hatchlings are sticky and may move in any direction during free spins, while Rex does not appear. Hatchlings may bring 2x or 3x win multipliers, which multiply together if they take part in the same win. Land 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 scatters, and you’ll be awarded +1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 extra free spins, respectively.
Survival
Played using 3 lives; each spin uses 1 life. Whenever a dinosaur symbol lands in any of the 12 positions, it gets eaten and refills all lives. Eaten dinosaurs are replaced with sticky Bone symbols and have their value absorbed by Rex. Dinosaur symbol starting Value: x1, x2, x5, x10. Rex’s value will be paid out when the feature ends. Each Bone symbol will fill the bone meter by 1 step. Filling the bone meter will remove all bone symbols and upgrade the values of the dinosaur symbols going forward by an amount equal to their start values. The bone meter is then reset. The bone meter initially requires 6 steps to be filled but will increase by 1 step the first 2 times it is filled to a maximum of 8 steps. (1st = 6 steps, 2nd = 7 steps, 3rd or above = 8 steps)
Pros
- Another massive max win is possible in this game of 30,000x bet.
- Three bonus features to explore.
Cons
- The RTP can hit as low as 84.20%.
- It seemed quite difficult to bonus, but perhaps just my experiences during testing.
Raging Rex 3 Slot Final Thoughts
Will this be the last we see of Raging Rex? I'm not quite sure about that, but Raging Rex 3 is a decent slot packed with features and has a solid max win at 30,000x.I would have perhaps edged this score up a little higher, but I did find it difficult to bonus the game, and I can only imagine how brutal this would be if you ended up playing one of the versions running on 84.20%. It's certainly worth checking the help section before you play to make sure you're happy with the RTP that's being offered.
