Slot Overview

Pray for Six is the latest instalment in Hacksaw Gaming’s “SixForSix” series of games, and here, you’ll find a Wailing Wheels feature, scatter pays, ominous ‘6’ symbols, and a maximum win potential of 20,000x. It’s a theme that looks pretty familiar, but with this latest release comes increased win potential, and volatility. So, is it worth playing? Let’s find out!

Theme & Design

Hacksaw Gaming has chosen to once again follow up from its “SixForSix” game with Pray For Six, a slot released just weeks after another sequel, Pray For Three. Once again, the software provider has leaned into its signature unsettling cartoon vibe, and the action is set inside “Hell’s Nursery”, a scary yet weirdly playful backdrop, complete with the devil, its children, and satanic props.

The game is also presented, primarily, in black and white, although there is some blue colour coming from the pits of hell itself. Yes, the theme won’t be for everyone, and no, it’s not the most impressive-looking video slot in the world, but Hacksaw Gaming has pulled Pray for Six off well, and it gives off the same vibe and aesthetic as the previous two releases in the series.

Pray For Six Gameplay & Bonus Features

Pray for Six uses a 6-reel, 5-row layout with a Scatter Pays system, meaning wins land anywhere on the grid as long as 8+ instances of a symbol appear. The game runs at a default RTP of 96.35%, and you can bet between €0.10 and €50 per spin. A Cascading Reels mechanic is in play, so each time winning symbols appear, they’re removed from the grid, allowing new ones to drop down and take their place.

Pray for Six’s core mechanic is all about the ‘6’ symbols, which act as both winning symbols and feature triggers. When a ‘6’ lands, it can activate a Wailing Wheel that spins to award instant cash prizes, additive or multiplicative multipliers, or, if you’re very lucky, the game’s max win of 20,000x.

The game’s free spins bonus is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Landing 3 triggers the Unholy Offspring feature, awarding 10 free spins with an increased chance of ‘6’ symbols appearing. Four scatters trigger the Cradle of Chaos bonus, also awarding 10 free spins, but with a progressive Total Win Bar that does not reset between spins. This means wins and multipliers are accumulated until the end of the feature.

If you land 5 scatter symbols, you’ll trigger the Playtime in Purgatory bonus, the game’s “Hidden Epic Bonus”. This awards you with 10 free spins, and it keeps the same mechanics as the Unholy Offspring feature, with the addition that at least one ‘6’ symbol is guaranteed on every spin.

Bonus Buy & FeatureSpins

Pray for Six includes several Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins options:

  • BonusHunt FeatureSpins: Each spin costs 3x and makes it 5x more likely to trigger a bonus.
  • 666 FeatureSpins: Each spin costs 50x and guarantees a ‘6’ symbol lands on every spin.
  • Unholy Offspring Free Spins: Costs 100x and awards 10 free spins with a higher chance of landing ‘6’ symbols.
  • Cradle of Chaos Free Spins: Costs 300x and awards 10 free spins with a progressive Total Win Bar.

Pros

  • Win up to 20,000x.
  • The Wailing Wheels mechanic adds decent action within the base game.
  • 3 different free spin tiers.

Cons

  • High volatility won’t suit all players.
  • The top feature can’t be purchased.
  • Dark theme won’t appeal to all audiences.

Pray For Six Slot Review Final Thoughts

Pray for Six is the third instalment in Hacksaw Gaming's dark series, and it’s clearly designed for players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward slotting. The game’s high variance means there are long periods of dry spells, especially in the base game, and bonus rounds don’t always pay well, but if you hit a good bonus, it can be very rewarding.

We like the way that the Wailing Wheels and multipliers are added into the mix, too, although the game doesn’t offer much in the way of originality, as most mechanics were found previously in either SixSixSix or Pray For Three.

However, with a maximum win potential of up to 20,000x and a couple of extra additions, Pray for Six is a decent release, and Hacksaw fans will likely be eager to try this one out as soon as it’s released!
