NowNow Gaming’s Peek & Pounce is set over a 5×4 reel configuration with 20 fixed paylines, where wins pay from left to right for matching combos of three or more symbols. Betting selections begin from a minimum of €0.10 to a maximum of €100, with the game featuring an RTP of 96.32%.

The main mechanic in the game is the wild chase feature, which can activate during any spin. Before the reels stop, a number of mice appear peeking out from the holes above the reels, usually between two and five at a time.

If a Señor Pounce symbol lands on a reel where a mouse is visible above it, the chase begins. Señor Pounce leaps upward to catch the mouse, transforming every symbol from his landing position up to the top of the reel into wild symbols. This can significantly improve the chances of forming winning combinations across the reels.

Each mouse that gets caught awards a random multiplier, ranging from smaller values like 2x and 3x all the way up to 500x. If several Señor Pounce symbols land during the same spin, each wild chase is resolved one after another from left to right. All multipliers collected during the spin are then combined and applied to the total win before the round ends.

Catch the Cheese Bonus

Landing three or more scatter symbols triggers the catch the cheese bonus and awards a set of free spins. Three scatters award 10 spins, four scatters grant 15 spins, and five scatters award 20 spins.

The feature keeps the same mechanics as the base game but with an important upgrade to the wild chase system. During free spins, Señor Pounce will leap upward to catch a mouse whenever one is present above the reel, even if the spin does not initially produce a winning combination.

Multipliers collected from the mice are also handled differently in the bonus. Instead of resetting after each spin, they are added to a multiplier meter that remains active throughout the entire feature. Every time another mouse is caught, its value is added to the running total, steadily increasing the multiplier applied to future wins. At the end of each spin, the current multiplier in the meter is applied to that spin’s winnings, allowing the bonus round to build momentum as it progresses.

NowNow Gaming slots, to date, have been a little inconsistent with regard to the overall quality of their production, but hats off to the studio for Peek & Pounce, with this being one of their better-looking releases to date, especially compared to their earlier games like Shadow Treasure and Fairy Leaf Tales.
