Slot Overview
Pearl Reef Gigablox is the latest ReelPlay release. The action unfolds on a large 6×4 grid, with giant oversized symbols, and the powerful Multimax multiplier system is enabled on every spin. There’s a main Bonus Respins feature, too, and here, you can win up to 10,000x your bet! Is this underwater adventure worth diving into? The Demoslot team investigates.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
Pearl Reef Gigablox is played on a 6-reel, 4-row grid with 40 fixed paylines. Wins are paid left to right. You can bet from €0.40 to €14 per spin, and the RTP is a little on the low side: 94.0%.
As the name suggests, Gigablox symbols are the game’s central mechanic, and these oversized symbols can land in formations ranging from 2×2 to 4×4. They all count as individual symbols for payline wins, and at least one Gigablox reel appears on every spin, too. When part of a Gigablox contributes to a win, the entire block explodes. Winning symbols are then removed and replaced by new ones dropping in from above. If gaps form below a Gigablox that can no longer fit, it splits into standard 1×1 symbols, too.
The Multimax is also present on every spin. Each reel carries its own multiplier, and this starts at 1x. Whenever a Wild Turtle lands, the multiplier of the leftmost reel it covers increases by +1, and if a Wild lands as part of a Gigablox, the multiplier increase is applied before the symbol splits.
On any cascading win, a new Wild Turtle is added to a random empty position before new symbols drop. The total multiplier applied to a win is the sum of all reel multipliers involved in that winning combination. This is exactly why the base game is pretty engaging, and offers some decent levels of win potential, too.
The game’s main feature, Bonus Respins, are triggered when 6+ Pearl symbols land. You are then awarded 3 respins, and all Pearl symbols remain locked in place while all other positions spin.
Each pearl carries a random prize value of between 1x and 100x. When pearls form a 2×2 or larger square, they form a megapearl, which awards double the combined value of the merged symbols. Every new Pearl or Wild Turtle that lands resets the respin counter back to three, and once you reach the end, all Pearl and Mega Pearl symbols are multiplied by the Multimax multipliers of the reels they appear on!
Bonus Buy
If you live in a country where Bonus Buys are allowed, Pearl Reef Gigablox also allows you to buy directly into the Bonus Respins feature for a cost of 80x.

Theme & Design
Pearl Reef Gigablox takes you into a vibrant coral reef setting, and you’ll see softly animated sea plants and some marine life swimming in front of and behind the reels! The game is actually quite pleasant to look at. The audio is also fitting: relaxed and theme-specific.
Above the reels you’ll see the multiplier values; these play a core function in the game, as you’ll see from the following section of this review. Given the “Gigablox” nature of the slot, symbols can also appear as 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 blocks.
Now, this isn’t the first Gigablox game we’ve seen from ReelPlay, and it appears their current growth strategy is to license popular mechanics from other software providers. This can be seen in other recent titles like Castle Cash Megaways and Monsters VS Gigablox.
Pros
- Innovative Gigablox mechanic on every spin.
- Reel-based Multimax multipliers can get very high.
- Decent maximum win potential of 10,000x.
Cons
- 94.0% RTP is lower than many modern slots.
- Medium variance maths model won’t suit everyone.
- Bonus Respins don’t always pay that well.
Final Thoughts
Pearl Reef Gigablox is another pretty decent Gigablox release from ReelPlay, a studio we’ve followed since their early days as Chance Interactive. We like the way that the game offers cascading wins and multiplying reels, and we also like the interaction between Gigablox explosions and the Multimax system, as this ensures that even base game spins can produce some healthy win potential.
Still, there’s no denying that it’s the Bonus Respins where you’ll get closest to the maximum win potential of 10,000x. Locked Pearls, expanding Megapearls, and the multipliers stacking on one another is what can lead to the really big hits, although the lower RTP may deter some players.
Still, Pearl Reef Gigablox is a well-built medium-volatility slot, and we think it will appeal to players who enjoy mechanical features without the extreme volatility seen from some providers like Nolimit City and Push Gaming.
