Theme & Design

Open Vault uses a treasure-focused theme centred around chests, glowing symbols and a rich, jewel-toned colour scheme. The overall look is clean and modern, as is the case with Fa Chai Gaming, and the slot uses polished animations that actually look pretty good as you play.

You’ll see that the Multiplier Chests take up double spaces on the reels, but even with this, it looks good and is decently presented. To be honest, Fa Chai Gaming has surprised us recently. Releases like Bad Rich Wolf and Panda Dragon Boat show the studio, despite being fairly small, are putting as much effort as they can into developing their games, and Open Vault is another solid-looking release, in our opinion.

Open Vault Gameplay & Bonus Features

Open Vault uses a 4-5-5-5-4 reel layout with a dynamic ways-to-win system that produces between 423 and 2,000 ways to win on every spin. Now, interestingly, the game operates at 2,000 ways most of the time, with the number only dropping when special Multiplier Chest symbols land (as they take up double-sized positions on the reels.)

Any win triggers the Cascading Reels mechanic, with winning symbols removed and replaced by new ones that drop down from above. You can bet between €0.40 and €1,000 per spin, and like all Fa Chai Gaming releases, the RTP isn’t publicly available.

Now, on every spin, there’s a chance for Multiplier Chests to land on reels 2, 3, and 4. When a winning combo appears, and Multiplier Chests, the value displayed on the Chest is collected into the Multiplier Bar above the reels. At the end of that spin’s cascades, the multiplier that you built at the top is applied to the total win amount for that spin.

Landing 3+ Scatter symbols in view awards the Free Spins bonus, and this awards 10 free games, with a starting multiplier of 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x. During the free spins, the multiplier you build does not reset between spins.
