Game Overview
Mr Bells 40 is a slot machine from Endorphina that might look like yet another 5×4 fruit machine game, but there’s a surprising amount packed beneath the surface, including a Hold & Spin Jackpot bonus, stacked wilds, a risk gamble, and a maximum win potential of up to 2,900x. Is it any good? Let’s find out.
Theme & Design
Let’s be honest: fruit slots aren’t exactly reinventing the wheel in 2025. And, if you’re looking for a slot machine that does, or even looks like it is, then Mr Bells 40 probably isn’t going to be for you. It’s quite bizarrely designed, we feel, with the reels sat in the sky with a night sky in the backdrop. Above the reels, there’s a weird-looking bell with a moustache, and he “rings his bell” as you play; it does look quite funny, at least.
Still, it’s definitely not the most modern-looking slot in the world, even if the graphics are pretty sharp. If you’re looking for a more modern-looking take on the classic slot machine, consider playing games like Seven & Gems or Hot Triple 7s Hold & Win.

Mr Bells 40 Gameplay & Features
Mr. Bells 40 is played on a five-reel, four-row layout, and you’ll find 40 fixed paylines in play at all times. You can bet between €0.40 and €100 per spin, and the game offers a very slightly above-average RTP of 96.06%.
At the core of the game is the Bell Bonus, a Hold & Spin feature triggered by landing 6 or more Bell symbols anywhere in view. Bells can display instant win values between 1x and 50x, or jackpots. These jackpots are worth:
- Mini: 10x
- Mid: 50x
- Max: 75x
- Ultra: 750x
Now, if you only manage to land five of the bonus symbols, there’s a chance that the Lucky Time Feature may trigger. This randomly adds the 6th Bell to the screen, triggering the bonus.
During the Bell Bonus, all triggering Bells lock in place, and you receive 3 respins. Each new Bell symbol that lands locks in position, pays its value or jackpot amount, and resets the re-spin counter back to 3.
The ultimate goal is filling all 20 positions with Bells, which then awards a surprise 3x multiplier to all collected winnings. If you don’t have to fill the screen, the bonus round ends when you fail to land Bells for three consecutive re-spins.
Lastly, Mr Bells 40 also includes Endorphina’s risk gamble. After any win, you can choose to gamble by choosing between four face-down cards. This allows you to try and double or quadruple your winnings, depending on which option you choose.
Pros
- Not a bad Hold & Spin bonus.
- Four fixed jackpot values.
- Chance to hit a 3x multiplier on full screens in the bonus.
Cons
- The classic fruit machine feature is very overdone.
- Max win is just 2,900x.
- No bonus buy or ante bet options.
Mr Bells 40 Slot Review Final Thoughts
Mr Bells 40 is one of those slots that looks simple, almost too simple, and you’d be forgiven for assuming there was no bonus round beneath the surface. It was, at least, nice to learn that there is a bonus round, but upon entering it, well, there’s not really much to it.
Sure, it’s good to see four fixed jackpot values in the game, but with the highest worth just 750x, you have to wonder what’s the point, and from our testing, the Bell cash values that landed were almost always below 5x.
Sure, if you manage to fill the screen during the bonus round, you get that 3x multiplier, which can be decent if you have some higher Bell values or a couple of jackpots on the screen, but other than that, this isn’t a game we feel many players will enjoy, and it feels very bland, basic, and uninspiring.
