Game Overview

Mouse on the Run is a clever instant win game that turns a simple concept – clicking tiles to climb higher – into a pretty unique and addictive risk ladder challenge. Win up to 987x your bet in this highly unique release!

Theme & Design

Stakelogic is one of those names that have been around for decades. Some of their better-known releases, like Mystical Santa Megaways and Lucky Mushrooms, did fairly well, but recently, they’ve been turning their attention to some instant win games, too, like Mouse on the Run.

The game’s presentation is charming and light-hearted, with a pretty cool-looking cartoon style that makes the game soft on the eyes! The grid looks like a playful maze, each row lined with four clickable tiles that reveal either a safety square, a prize, or an instant loss.

Mouse on the Run Gameplay & Features

Mouse on the Run offers three grid sizes: 6×4, 7×4, and 8×4, each increasing the stakes as you go. The rules are simple. You pick one tile per row. If it reveals a green Yarn Ball, you move up safely and increase your multiplier. If it reveals yellow cheese, you not only move up but also add a point to your cheese counter. However, if you reveal a red trap, the game ends instantly, and you lose.

Now, at any point, you can choose to cash out and collect the value shown on the Cash Out button. This is what makes it similar to a Crash-inspired game; do you take what you’ve earned or risk it all for the next level? The higher you go, the larger the multiplier becomes. If you manage to brave it to the final rows, you can end up winning some monster prizes!

As mentioned, each mode offers three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. In Easy Mode, you’ll find more Yarn Balls and fewer traps, while Hard Mode significantly increases the number of traps but also increases the multipliers. The game ends automatically if you hit a trap or reach the top without cashing out.

Cheese Bonus & Multipliers

If you manage to climb all the way to the top without hitting a trap, and you’ve collected at least one piece of cheese, you’ll trigger the Cheese Bonus Multiplier. This adds a bonus to your total payout depending on how many cheeses you managed to collect along the way. If you manage to reach the top on Hard Mode, you can win the game’s maximum win potential of 987x.

When it comes to RTP, Mouse on the Run has a theoretical RTP range between 94.92% and 97.50%, and the reason why it changes depends on your chosen grid size, difficulty, and how often you cash out.

Pros

  • Unique grid size mechanic.
  • Top prize of 987x the bet.
  • Adjustable difficulty settings.

Cons

  • Relatively low maximum win potential.
  • Instant win games are not suited for all players.
  • The gameplay is quite repetitive.

Mouse on the Run Review Final Thoughts

Mouse on the Run is definitely not going to be a game for everyone, that’s for sure. However, if you’re looking for an instant win title with a difference, then it could be worth a look at.

We do like how you can change the grid size yourself, along with adjusting the difficulty levels, and while the maximum win potential isn’t the highest in the world, it’s still good fun, for a few rounds at least.
