Monster Quest Bonus Features
Monster Quest centres on Megaways action, monster values and a knight character that stays active throughout the free spins round. Landing 3 or more scatters triggers 12 free spins, with 2 extra spins added for each additional scatter. During the feature, the knight starts with a random value between 8x and 15x the stake and remains on screen until the round ends.
During free spins, the knight slays any monster with a value equal to or lower than his own, adding that monster’s value to the knight. There is also a Megaways win multiplier for regular symbol wins, starting at 1x and increasing by 1 for every monster slain. If 5 or more monsters appear at once, the hold and spin bonus is triggered, although monsters slain during hold and spin do not increase the Megaways win multiplier. The knight’s final value is awarded once at the end of free spins.
Power Play can be toggled on to guarantee at least 10,000 Megaways on every Power Play spin, at a cost of 8x the stake where available. The Bonus Buy menu allows direct entry into either 12 free spins for 90x the free spins stake or the hold and spin bonus for 35x the free spins stake.

Pros
- Features free spins & a hold and win bonus
- Massive max win
- Two bargain bonus buy options
Cons
- It's fair to say that max win is never happening
- Feels hard to get a bonus, like most BTG slots
- Low bonus buy costs, but not available in all regions
Final Thoughts
Once upon a time, Big Time Gaming was the top dog for Megaways releases, with the likes of Bonanza and Extra Chilli remaining cult classics to this day. However, times change, and Megaways now, as expected after so many years, feels a bit old hat, and whilst the theme of Monster Quest is one of the better designs to come out of the studio for a while, the main features are a combo of hold and a win and free spins, which doesn't exactly breathe new life into the reel-modifying mechanic.
You might find a bit more joy here than me, but this isn't a game I'll revisit again, that's for sure.
