Slot Overview
The Midnight Mirage online slot by Pineapple Play is a 6-reel high-volatility game with expanding reels, the glass house mechanic, and a free spins feature, where a huge 25,000x the bet can be won.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
Operating over a 6×6 reel matrix, Midnight Mirage can, through its in-game mechanics, generate up to a staggering 729,000 ways to win. Pays will be awarded if three or more matching symbols connect from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel first. To join in the action, betting options range from €0.10 to €40, with the game featuring a standard RTP setting of 96.42%.
Midnight Mirage plays around quite a bit with the reel setup, as the height changes on every spin. Each of the 6 reels moves independently, so you can end up with anything from short reels to ones stretching much higher, which naturally changes the number of ways to win.
On top of that, there are a couple of random features that can drop in during the base game. The Glass House mechanic breaks symbols into extra pieces across the reels, giving you more chances to connect wins on that spin. It only lasts for that one spin, but when it hits, you’ll notice the difference straight away.
You’ve also got the Highrise Booster, which randomly lifts reels higher once they stop spinning. Some spins barely change, others jump up quite a bit, so it keeps things from feeling too static.
Skyline Spins
The bonus is triggered by landing 3 or more scatters, awarding between 10 and 20 free spins depending on how many land.
Once you’re in, everything opens up. The reels can grow much taller than in the base game, and each one is mirrored, meaning the bottom half reflects the top. That effectively doubles what’s on screen and gives you a lot more ways to hit something.
All the base game features still run during this, so you can still get the Glass House effect and the reel boosts at the same time, which can make certain spins feel a bit stacked. You can also add extra spins if more scatters land during the feature, so it doesn’t always end where it started.
Bonus Buy
There are three enhanced betting options to choose from if these are available in your jurisdiction. These are:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins: Each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus – Costs 3x the bet.
- Glass House FeatureSpins: Guaranteed that a symbol will shatter on every spin – Costs 20x the bet.
- Skyline Spins: Entry into the bonus round – Costs 60x the bet.

Theme & Design
If drinks at the pool and a magnificent skyline in the distance sounds like your idea of fun, then Midnight Mirage has got you covered, as that’s precisely what’s waiting for you as the backdrop to this release. Overall it’s presented quite well, but the animation of the woman at the bar isn’t great quality, if I’m honest, and whether it’s an upgrade in production to their original release, Coconut Chaos, I’ll let you decide.
Pros
- There are up to 729,000 ways to win
- A monster max win of 25,000x
- Cheap bonus buy option
Cons
- The mechanic in the free spins can send your eyes a bit funny
- Doesn't feel like a premium release
Final Thoughts
Midnight Mirage is only Pineapple's Play 2nd release, so it still is very much early days for the provider, and we must give them credit for the Reflecta Reels mechanic, as it can generate up to 729,000 ways to win.
However, as impressive as that might sound, I found it very difficult to follow what was going on in the bonus, and not because it was difficult to understand, but just the animations and movement of the mechanic made it a bit of an unpleasant experience.
Perhaps things will be different for you? But this is not a slot I could revisit again for that reason alone.
